Last Chance for Americans to Visit Princess Diana Celebration
North Americans have one last chance to visit the Diana, A Celebration exhibit before it leaves the USA for good.
Diana, A Celebration was originally created for visitors to the Althorp Estate, the Spencer family’s 500 year old country house in England. The exhibit is open at Althorp for three months in the summer, and then travels the world for the rest of the year.
Due to a scheduling issue, the exhibit has ended up in Cleveland, USA, and its appearance there is expected to be the last in the United States.
Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, said the exhibit was created to memorialise Diana in a tasteful and uplifting way, and to put her life in context. The exhibit aims to highlight Diana’s family background, her charity work, her sense of style and the outpouring of condolences following her tragic death in 1997. More than 500,000 people have already visited the exhibit during its tour of North America.
Highlights of the exhibit include home movies of a young Diana shot by her father, childhood toys, her wedding gown, complete with 25-foot train, and her passport.
Diana, A Celebration is now open at the Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland and runs until June 10.
