Royals Create New Wedding Traditions
Royalty not only began the tradition of wearing white, but they also made it popular. Anne of Brittany is credited as having been the first bride to wear white when she married Louis XII of France. And it seems that past Royals are also responsible for the tradition of the plain wedding band, with Queen Mary I of England choosing a plain band over a fancier style back in 1554.
