Princess Margaret Was An Iconic Bride

Queen Elizabeth’s sister, Princess Margaret, wed Anthony Armstrong Jones at Westminster Abbey on 6th May 1960. The wedding was the very first Royal wedding to be televised, and was watched by over 20 million people.

29-year-old Margaret wore an elegant, white, silk organza gown, and has been chosen by Bridalwave.tv as the 3rd Most Iconic Bride (Grace Kelly takes out the top spot).

She carried a cascade of orchids and was accompanied by eight young bridesmaids, all wearing short sleeved ballerina style dresses which were also designed by Norman Hartnell. A very young Prince Charles was included in the wedding party, sporting a kilt.
