Camilla Should Not Attend Diana’s Memorial Service - Public
A clear majority of people believe the Duchess of Cornwall should not go to the memorial service for Princess Diana later this month.
A poll for the Daily Mail shows 54 per cent feel the presence of the woman famously described by Diana as the third person in her marriage would be “inappropriate”.
Just 39 per cent say she should attend. Women are even more strongly opposed, with 61 per cent against. The finding is one of a string which will alarm supporters of Charles and Camilla.
For the first time, most Britons now want the crown to pass to Prince William rather than his father when the Queen dies or decides to abdicate. Even if Charles does become King, a large majority oppose Camilla being Queen - reversing a finding last year. Of most immediate concern to Clarence House will be the swelling controversy over the August 31 service to mark the 10th anniversary of Diana’s death.
Support for William is particularly strong among women and younger people. Some 71 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds want him to be the next king, as do 57 per cent of women. The increase in support for William may reflect his higher public profile as he has started to take on more Royal duties. (via Daily Mail)

Camilla will attend because Charles, William & Harry want her to attend. So no matter what the public opinion is, she will attend. This is a year to remember Diana because of who she was not what she went through. William & Harry has tried their best to help us remember her for her kindness and how she helped brightened people lives. Next to her death the tragic part is people always reflect on Diana’s failed marriage, and who said what. That never represented who Diana was, that was just something she sadly went through. Although we will never forget what happened to the marriage, we should let things go. Before Diana’s death she accepted the love Charles had for Camilla and now William & Harry realize how happy she makes Charles so I and many others will be very offened if she didn’t attend the service. That would be a huge slap in Diana’s children faces.

I absolutely agree with you Claudius, this is a matter between Camilla, William and Harry and Charles. If they are comfortable with her attending, and she wishes to go, then she should.

You two are amazing if Camilla didn’t go it would be a slap in the face to Diana’s Children. This is a huge slap in the face to Diana the final insult. Remember the service is to remember Diana and all her goodness. It is not a C/C affair and Charles divorced Diana one year before her death. Yes I can’t wait to see the smug faces of C/C spinning the family togetherness routine.

I agree that if the family want to include Camilla, she should attend. It would be rude not to attend, and let her husband and stepsons go without her, leaving an empty seat.
I am sure Diana would not have done that herself.
