Prince Harry questioned by police over Bird Shootings

Prince Harry has been interviewed by British police about the alleged shooting of two protected birds on one of the Queen’s estates.

Police are investigating a report that two hen harriers were killed on the edge of the royal family’s Sandringham estate last week.

A government conservation worker saw the two birds being shot. The hen harriers prey on grouse and have become targets for people trying to protect stocks of grouse on hunting estates.

The killing of a hen harrier carries a fine of up to $11,000 or six months in prison.

There are only 20 pairs of hen harriers in England. Royal officials say Prince Harry and a friend were in the area at the time of the alleged shooting but had no knowledge of the incident. (via ABC News)
