Flying Officer Wales’ second week of training
Prince William showed he is enjoying every minute of his flying training at RAF Cranwell when the media were given a special insight into his daily training routine at the base on Thursday.
Flying Officer Wales is just a couple of week’s into his four month attachment with the RAF with 1 Squadron at the Number One Elementary Flying Training School.
While at RAF Cranwell he will be learning to fly the Grob 115E Tutor. He is not expected to be in Cranwell much longer as his progress will soon take him to RAF Linton-on-Ouse, where he will learn to fly The Tucano T1 before ending his attachment at RAF Shawbury to fly the Squirrel HT 1 before being awarded his Flying Wings.
He is following in the footsteps of his father Prince Charles who also completed flying training at RAF Cranwell as a member of Graduate Entry class number 1 in 1971.
The officers in charge of Prince his training described Flying Officer Wales as being talented, extremely hard working and enthusiastic.
Training for Prince William on Thursday started with an early morning briefing with other trainee officers on the day’s weather given by Stuart Minnis a trainee navigator.
As he entered the room for the briefing, the prince looked relaxed and enjoyed a chat and a laugh with his fellow trainees.
Students have to attend these briefings each morning when there is a run down on the weather conditions ready for the day’s flights.
Following the group briefing, Flying Officer Wales was given a one-to-one briefing with Sqn Ldr Roger Bousfield and
his instructions for the day’s lesson.
Sqn Ldr Bousfield explained Prince William would be learning how to handle emergency situations and said his flight would include aerobatics to which the prince replied ‘I can’t wait’.
He was then seen collecting his kit as part of the normal pre-flight preparation.
He then gave his first public flight, with Sqn Ldr Bousfield, following a set course in front of waiting photographers and film crews. The day before Flying Officer Wales had completed his first solo flight - for his views on that solo flight, see page 14..
During his attachment to the RAF, Prince William will remain under the full command of the Army, Household Cavalry Regiment.
The attachment is part of a wider programme to prepare him for his future role as head of the Armed Forces and he is expected to carry out a similar period with the Royal Navy later this year. (via Sleaford Standard)

The Bluebird restaurant in Chelsea has been getting even bluer of late, with the young royal Prince William and Kate Middleton popping in for burgers and chips…
The huge, glamorous dining room overlooks the King’s Road and sits above the Bluebird cafe, deli and terrace…

For such a boring, serious press like the Financial Times, I find it strange but possibly true the sighting of PW/KM…read on the boring dule short comment about. The article does make a bigger reference to the restaurant. But if the FT did the comment, what would you think…check out there website, it is more like a serious page.

i thought Bluebird is a seafood restaurant not a burger and chips place. I google it and mostly their menus are like crabs, mackerel and etc…i think its just referencing to William being a blue blood and the restaurant turning green. They probably just included their names as both have visited the restaurant before so probably no sighting last night…
Will, everything alright?

Somehow, I don’t see Kate eating burgers and chips, with her figure.

I eat burgers and chips once in a while…ejemmm and I do have a nice figure !
No diets - eat all you want, lots of sports (exercise)

True…I will eat a burger now and then too, and I don’t have a weight problem…but I excersize as well. She’s just soooo thin. But I guess every once in a while eathing a burger doesn’t hurt you.

In relation to the “training” article, I wonder if Harry is scheduled to undergo the same various trainings as William?
I mean, just to be fair…
