Kate Middleton to take on the Peruvian Piranahs
Kate Middleton is to brave piranhas, alligators and anacondas for a charity race on the world’s most hazardous river.
She plans to join her rowing pals in the 132-mile Great River Amazon Raft Race in Peru - for which organisers boast “the faint-hearted need not apply”.
Kate, who is dating Prince William, was forced to pull out of a cross-Channel boat race with the group, known as The Sisterhood, last year after Royal concerns.
But she has told her pals she is “thrilled” to be with them for the September race, in which each four-person crew build their raft using logs and jungle vines.
One past participant said: “The tropical sun is trying to boil your brains. Piranhas are waiting to nibble your toes. This is one of the last great adventures.”
The Peruvian Coast Guard usually provides safety boats, but with Kate, 26, racing security is sure to be stepped up. A race insider insisted: “Kate doesn’t want any preferential treatment.” (via The Mirror)

I wonder how she will find the time to do this, seeing as she is meant to be starting a photography internship in New York soon.
Seeing as she had to pull out last year “due to royal concerns”, how is this year any different? Unless of course there is something going on in Will’s and Kate’s relationship that we don’t know about.

The sessions with MT in NY is during March. The supposed stint in Peru with the Sisterhood is during September.
I wouldn’t believe the first nor the later, until I actually read the news during those 2 months (March/September). I also entered the Sisterhood webpage and no calendar of events for 2008, nor any upcoming news about the Peru stint. Anyway, the Sisterhood missions in the past have all been carried out in the UK. Also, if they do go to Peru, all the expenses should be covered by a sponsor, thats all the reason for a Charity Organisation. And if they go to Peru, thats a pretty much expensive trip, with all the training, tickets, hotel, food, equipments, etc. Only an extravagant billionair would sponsor, I wouldn’t, there is so much other quick, immediate charity donations where one may help children without the need of piranhas, crocs, etc. involved in danger.
January 26th, 2008 10:35
cool…lets see if she fully intends to finish the race, and hopefully she takes the training seriously, no posing for Hello! and not blame the palace for something she consented and then back off the last minute….good luck!!

Would they please hurry up and just get engaged already? This is agony, pure torture.
If for some reason they don’t, (and I think they will now) I hope she won’t regret all this lost time setting herself up in a career and her own life.
January 27th, 2008 03:12
When are people going to stop acting like they have some kind of right to “demand” that William and Kate “get engaged” already?? It’s their lives, not yours and it’s pretty sad that you feel you have to live through them. Don’t worry about their private lives - whether or not they are meant to be apart. You’re in agony and pure torture because they haven’t gotten engaged? That’s pretty sad. You don’t even know this couple - for all you know, they have a very secret understanding with each other or else they’re just not going to get married. I don’t think they sit and worry about if other people are going to get engaged or not.
January 27th, 2008 08:19
I was being facetious, sorry, that didn’t come through!!
I think it’s sad that she isn’t establishing a life for herself, rather living through his royal connections.
January 28th, 2008 08:48
I don’t think she’s going to really do it. The last time was a fake distraction. She never intended to go through with it. It keep the paps of guard so they could go off on holiday. There is no way that trip was planned last minute.
January 28th, 2008 09:59
People do carry out last minute unplanned changes in whatever aspect in life, even changing plans to better or worse.
I’m not saying with this that PW did not or did plan a make or break vacation to the Seychelles with KM, but they were going through a very public off/back on relationship, rough patch, and it is very human to ask your gf to accept you back and have the private quality time to talk, share, etc. and see if things may work out. Obviously, their choice of place to do so matches his/her or their income. It was his invite, so it was his income.
I do think, and its my personal opinion, if she really intended to do the dragon boat race in the UK last year, if I were RF, CH, or even her advisor, lawyer, etc. I WOULD NOT LET HER CONTINUE DOING SUCH. She is after all the girlfriend of PW, and I think that anything thay may put her in danger is a no no. Now we don’t want a tragedy that may be clearly stopped. I know people will say but she is not engaged, no she’s not engaged, but it is to the public knowledge that she is STILL the gf of PW, and I think that while she is STILL the gf of PW, if any influential person who really cares about her, should advice her not to do any kind of move that may ENDANGER her or anyone around her in such extreme sport activities.

Hello everyone,
after reading your comments, i have decided to come here more often.
I seem to agree most with anonymous, benign, B and will.
hope my comments will be welcome, without backlash from the dazed KM fans who cannot tolerate a different view of reality- for example, that Kate may not end up being princess or that she is not the saviour of the royal family.
Diana proved that she was!
Kate, i just don’t see it. Not at this rate.
Alot has been revealed by her post university days which reveal serious character flaws.

“Kate, who is dating Prince William, was forced to pull out of a cross-Channel boat race with the group, known as The Sisterhood, last year after Royal concerns.”
What a load of ****! There were no royal concerns. The “concern” was that she and William were going to take a vacation. Kate never intended on doing the boat charity inthe first place, and was only in it for the Hello! photo op. :notamused:

Some not all of the Journalists lack professionalism (the article where Miss Middleton suppose sisterhood adventure in Peru, published by the Daily Mirror) - no research at all, speaking of lying to sell papers, read this:
From the Organizers of the Amazon Raft Race
Mike Collis: I am one of the organisers of The Great River Amazon Raft Race

We have no knowledge whatsoever of Miss Middleton taking part in the race. We wished it was true , we would love to see her here in the peruvian amazon . The race is staged by the city of Iquitos which is the largest city in the world to have no access by road, and is possibly one of the safest places on earth, we have no violence here, the kids can walk home from school alone, can your kids do that ?

By the way there are no crocodiles in the Amazon only aligaters.
Dawn of the Amazon: Hello everyone, I would like to take this opportunity to express my pleasure that the Brotherhood and Sisterhood are participating in the Great River Amazon Raft Race 2008 in Iquitos Peru. Kate has never been mentioned until the Daily Mirror article. I don’t need to tell you about the press. All of that is fiction. Remember that part about the past participant of the race the jounalist quoted saying “The tropical sun tries to boil your brains. Piranhas wait to nibble your toes.” I wrote that trying to have fun and be funny. The so called journalist lifted it from this article;

The article also quotes a race insider as saying, “Kate doesn’t want any preferential treatment.”
My good friend Mike Collis and I are the only race insiders and the first we ever heard about Kate participating in the Great River Amazon Raft Race was when we read about it in the Mirror.
http://dawnontheamazon.com/blog/
It is full of stories about my adventures on the Amazon River, in the rainforest, and my life in Iquitos.
Mike is modest. I notice he did not tell you he is the owner, editor, and publisher of the Iquitos Times (the only English newspaper in Peru), and founder of the Amazon Golf Club.
Hmmmm, whether they are called crocodiles, alligators or caiman is beside the pointed teeth. The rainforest of the upper Amazon watershed near Iquitos Peru is the home of the greatest bio-diversity on earth. It is popular with adventurers, outdoor types, biologists, and rafters. Yes there are a lot of butterflies.
Me: How various journalist disappoint me. I stand on what I’ve said before when an article hits a tabloid and the versions run with very different wording, but with a disguise of saying the same, its fishy.

The Daily Mirror is full of crap. Here is the evidence:

Steve if your interested I may post you. The evidence is a bit long, and when I submit the comment, it doesn’t go.

I’m confused, Me, if are you a fan or not a fan of Kate Middleton’s.
Because if she were going, it would be good for her and her PR.
But you insist the story is false. If it is false, then that just leaves her to her usual non work activities.
And please, there can be no danger if she went on a boat race or one in Peru. Absolutely none.
I agree with you Anonymous.
She did not pull out of the boat race because of security fears.
What security fears?
If the members were threatned by an anonymous evil, they would be entitled to police protection 24/7. The sisterhood crossed the channel just fine and safe.
And does this mean that whatever small thing is endangering your security, you pull out of it?
Princess Diana went to some of the most hazardous places on earth, refusing to let this ‘ominous evil’ force that threatened her royal delicate life and came out wonderfully, and strong. Princess Di in Angola and Pakistan?
Dangerous places but Diana was not a woman to let incosequential fears ruin what she knew was right.
A boat race in Peru for charity is good and Kate should go through with it.
February 2nd, 2008 21:44
It would be good for image Mary but to bad Kate doesn’t give a S***!
February 7th, 2008 22:39
her attending a boat race in Peru like that on the Sisterhood whom she declined, is no wonder a bad sign to their relationship.Like when she was dumped, she turn-upside down night clubbing, now she goes boat racing maybe bcoz a second split is immenent or alreday happened! w/out seeing both of them together now , can we guess teh Roayl family is successful in their plan to lose her in their sight!
February 7th, 2008 23:08
I don’t believe that boat racing story and I remember a comment on here that the Sisterhood know’s nothing about Kate going racing with them. Kate’s focus for the time being is photography. I don’t see where she would find the time for a race.
