Prince William’s RAF nickname: Billy the Fish
Prince William has been given a comical RAF nickname — Billy the Fish.
Trainee chopper pilot Wills is known as Flying Officer Wales, which sounds like whales.
So witty comrades have named him after Viz comic’s famed half-man, half-fish levitating goalkeeper.
A joke badge bearing the name is now being made — to be presented to 25-year-old Wills when he finishes his course at RAF Cranwell, Lincs, in April.
An RAF insider said: “Thinking up nicknames is a big RAF tradition and the boys came up with Billy the Fish for Wills.
“He’s tickled pink — and the badge is an extra incentive for him to qualify.”
