Future Career Choices for Prince William
Great Britain: what can they do with Prince William?
What indeed? If one were the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, grandparents, or the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, father and stepmother respectively, it would be difficult to imagine a more eccentric career move for the future King of England than a job in journalism.
Nevertheless, we are informed by very correct sources that when Prince William has finished his military career (this year), he will start doing his ‘work exercises’ with a newspaper.
Perhaps it has been thought by the Royal Family that a short period of reporting and writing for the press might be an excellent ‘first job’ for the heir to the throne. Come to think of it, after the rather unsettling experience Britain had, after revelations of Princess Diana’s close relation with the British press, it is not such a strange idea after all. William might well have learned a great deal about manipulation of the press from his mother, and spending some time with a national newspaper may even the intellectual balance, so to speak.
It is possible too that putting William into a newspaper might put a brake on the nefarious activities of most of the vulgar press who cannot resist intrusions in the private life of persons like Kate Middleton; I doubt it. The paparrazi find royal romances, on or off, a temptation too tempting to avoid. We learn that Clarence House has dictated that the very last subject they want reported by Prince William is anything to do with the Court – such as it is.

How interesting, and hopefully he will do some time working in the newspaper. I agree too with the entire article. Great for BRF, speaking of getting modern with the world.

I think that it would be an excellent move for William to spend some time working in the media.
Maybe not as a future career (who knows?) but it would certainly give him an insight into an industry he will spend the rest of his life “dealing” with. – Steven

Pics of PW learning to surf with old buddies (Pelly, Straubenzee, Meade, Fletcher) and other unrecognizable RAF mates probably, the weekend of Feb. 09 surfing day, when the previous night he was at the controversial club with his pals.
