William gets his Wings, Kate’s there too!

PHOTO - Prince William and Kate Middleton at William\'s graduation ceremonyProud Prince William walks on air with girlfriend Kate Middleton – after receiving his RAF wings yesterday.

Wills, 25, became the fourth generation of royals to qualify as a pilot after a tough 12-week course.

Kate’s appearance will fuel speculation that the couple – who split briefly last year – are headed for marriage.

It was the brunette’s second official engagement with Wills following his passing out as an officer at Sandhurst in December 2006.

Stepmother the Duchess of Cornwall and aunt Lady Sarah McCorquodale – Princess Diana’s sister – also looked on as he became Flying Officer William Wales at RAF Cranwell, Lincs.

Kate, 26 – looking relaxed in a cream double-breasted coat and black boots – would have mingled with the Royals at a reception and eaten lunch with them.

The couple, who met at St Andrews University in 2001, split a year ago amid reports that Wills’s Army career was putting the relationship under strain.

But within months they were said to be rekindling their romance.

RAF pilots would normally train for up to four years – but William took a tailor-made short course flying fast propeller-powered planes and helicopters.

Fellow graduates said he flew up to three times a day rather than the usual once.

Flight Lt Simon Berry trained at RAF Shawbury, Shrops, at the same time as Wills. The 26-year-old said: “He was working really hard – flying in the morning, doing two hours of flight school, then working all hours in the evenings like everyone else.

“William was socialising with everyone. He was just a normal bloke.”

Flight Lt Kerry Goldsworthy-Trapp, 24, trained at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, North Yorks, while Wills was there. He added: “He had a good sense of humour. He wanted to be accepted by everyone.”

Wing Commander Andy Lovell – who holds a rank reached by Prince Charles in 1977 – helped to train Wills and carried out his final test to earn wings.

He said: “I was impressed by his flying skills. He was very quick to learn.” (via The Sun)

Kate is a lovely girl. But, is it just me or does she seem to be pushing her hair off her face in a lot of photos? If it bothers her so much she needs to keep pushing it out of her way, perhaps a different hairstyle seems to be in order.

No, I don’t find that she does that unusually often. Her hair is nice.

I noticed Kate was fiddling with her hair alot. Some people do that when they are nervous and she looked a bit nervous at time.

I think Kate is beautiful but does anyone else find her fashion sense rather unimaginative? Always with the boots and and knee-length coats. I think that this particular outfit looks rather uncoordinated…..?

Kate strikes me as a sensible girl. Her sense on style is very minimal. I like it.

Personally I don’t go outside my house without boots on from November to April. Nobody else does either. The same goes for a coat. And we can’t afford a lot of winter coats and a lot of pairs of boots, so we very often wear the same stuff. That doesn’t mean that we have a fashion sense that is unimaginative. It just means that we don’t want to freeze.

and it proves she repeats her wardrobe, which I think its cool, she’s not the shopaholic some have painted her to be.

We should have all guessed that the Kate not attending was just nothing - Public relation bs as some would say. Why else would she have gotten ehr hair done if it wasnt for a very important event that she had to look fabulous for???????

I think it is great that she wears the same staples in her wardrobe unlike some celebrities who wouldn’t be caught dead wearing the same thing twice.

I also think she has great sense of style. Nothing too over the top and the outfit and her makeup at Cheltenham was very trendy. She had very dramatic eye makeup and very little on the lips. She looked exceptional.

many hollywood celebs have wasted their clothes, in thousands of dollars. as much as royal gf! i like kate midleton. because she resembles on being classic and elegant than other royal gf!
maybe autumn kelly talks about fashion and style to improve her clothes or her outfits. for the near future.
chelsy davy looks great in her fashion statement.

Kate wore the white coat for Her own birthday outing in Feb.

All her pushy appearances and she’s still not engaged or about to marry like Autumn is to Peter.

Clarence House said in the press, Kate was a last minute addition, after William changed his mind, that hardly sounds like they have long term plans yet. Where is her ring or her proposal and this marriage? William is 25 and a future King, he has plenty of time to marry.

Her boots looked beat up and dirty, more like they belonged in the field than a Ceremony where Royals were.

Here we ago again. I knew it. It’s reported she won’t attend - it’s a sign that William doesn’t love her. She appears despite the press reports - she’s pushy and forced her way in and because William added her “last minute” (3 days before the event) still isn’t sure about her.
William at 25 is too young to marry but that Kate doesn’t have an engagement ring on her finger yet, is of course a sign that he doesn’t love her … yadayadayada. Seriously I’m tired of hearing the same complaints about these two over and over again. If you don’t like Prince William and Kate Middleton why do you even bother to read about them? Just ignore them! You can complain about her all you want once she’s a member of the RF and her lifestyle funded by tax payers. Nothing you say or do will change anything about these two and their relationship anyways.

It may be an excuse from the Daily Mail for getting it wrong(from banned to invited to last minute invited), although they did mention the source as CH, nevertheless its a coincidence that there’s a position vacant right on spot for CH Press dated yesterday.

Anyway, IMO, if the PW or CH plan was to keep her out of the limelight (she has been low for the past 6 months), then a change of heart occurred - stated by the DM - every cadet wing grad was going to invite their g/f’s, then why can’t PW invite hers. The Trixie issue is exactly what she opinionates, in other words, the nay sayers, Kate haters, bashers will express exactly those yadayadayada words ! It will always happen !

Oh, it says nothing about him not loving her but it MAY say something about the relationship. I think that there are still unresolved issues between the pair. I don’t know what they are but I do not believe that they are confident about the relationship despite the fact that they love each other. I feel that if William was truely confident he would have said that he wanted her there no matter what people said. He did have to think about it and had originally said no. What I think we must ask ourselves is why did he say no originally???

Was it that he did not want her stealing the limelight like last year? She has been keeping a low profile recently, this could be due to William’s insistence.

Was it that he wanted to keep the relationship private? In which case why did the statement from CH come out afterwards and why did he invite her later?

Was it that he did not want speculation? Well, there would have been speculation if she had not gone so that reason could not be right.

Overall, nobody knows what made William change his mind. But if it was to keep her private what could have changed his mind? The speculation would have happened either way. She would have been in the papers if she had been there or not and people would have still speculated about the state of the relationship. Something made William change his mind and though we do not know what it was, that something could say a lot about the relationship. Including how serious it is, how much commitment is there and how much they love each other.

I feel their relationship is on track or they wouldn’t have made such a big appearance together looking so happy (both of them). Who knows what the real story is, the only thing that mattered is she was there side by side with him.

Kate Middleton was a surprise guest at Prince William’s RAF wings ceremony after he had a sudden change of heart – and insisted she was put on the list.

William, 25, had originally excluded his 26-year-old girlfriend. But three days before he was due to receive the wings from his father Prince Charles at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire, he put her name forward.

A senior aide said: “He suddenly changed his mind on Tuesday.”

Clarence House confirmed: “There was a change of plan.”

    my .02

if William had not invited Kate to the ceremony, the relationship would have been dealt a severe and perhaps irreparable blow

IMO, it would have been a public humiliation, or the equivalent of publicly announcing the relationshp was completely over

how justify excluding Kate, when all the other participants’ girlfriends were present? there was no possible justification for excluding her save that their relationship no longer existed on any, even a minimal, level

if Kate were excluded, there probably wouldn’t be much media hoopla about it

the only way William could ever resusciate the relationship would be to propose

so the bottom line is: we don’t know where things stand; yes, they looked happy and romantic for the first time in recent months, but that could have been the emotionality of the moment

inviting Kate was tantamount to keeping her in the picture, and unless things continue on an even keel and intensify, not much more than that
