Keep-fit-Kate works out in her own Royal Gym
With the keys to Clarence House in her pocket, Kate Middleton is certainly at home at the Royal residence – so much so that she has had a gym installed there.
Kate still owns an apartment in Chelsea where she lives with her sister Pippa. But friends say she spends most of her time at Clarence House, even when boyfriend Prince William is not there.
“Kate has all her things there and asked William and Harry if they would allow her to build a gym,” says a Royal aide.
“She works out for at least an hour a day and loves to stay slim and toned. She and Pippa use the gym all the time because it has great equipment and it’s completely private.
“She has even had William and Harry doing crunches and press-ups.” Prince William, meanwhile, has a decision to make about the woman many are predicting will be the next Royal bride.
The Prince has confirmed he will be attending the Lord Mayor’s Sporting Heroes Dinner at the Guildhall on Thursday and I’m told he has the option to bring Kate.
“There’s a table for the Royal party and William has been invited to bring a guest,” says an insider.
Let’s hope that he and Kate, who have made a pact to keep out of the limelight, make it a date. (via Daily Mail)

I thought it was confirmed by CH that Kate wasn’t living there. Sounds like it’s just another load of gossip to me.
April 27th, 2008 03:12
Why would she make Wills and Harry do press-ups etc? They do that in the army.
April 27th, 2008 03:48
This is rather funny. One needs to congratulate Katie Nicholls for her vivid imagination.
IF there is the smallest grain of truth in there, I could imagine that Kate has been seen using the gym CH probably already has. Honestly with both Princes being keen sportsmen and army officers how could they NOT have a gym at home? I further doubt that Kate would just go and ask for one to be build for her.
The tibid about an invitation to the upcoming charity dinner is interesting but I doubt it’s more than just wild guessing on the authors part.
CH has listed several engagments for William on May 1, 6, 7, 8, 9.
April 27th, 2008 04:21
Hi Guys,
Interesting reading for sure.
On a percentage basis Kate Nicholl is running at about 20-25% on her recent predictions for William and Kate, and it may be even less.
Even tossing a coin give you 50% so on that basis, either she is not very good at her job, or she is being used by so called contacts in to CH to spread misinformation.
Note how most of her miss-information is basically to the detriment of Kate Middleton in one form or another.
Perhaps she has an agenda !?
April 27th, 2008 05:21
To be honest this article doesn’t put Kate in a positive light. It makes her looks too comfortable in her position.
April 27th, 2008 05:26
I have the impression someone has been feeding the DM in particular with wrong information. Why that is is anyone’s guess but it looks like someone needs to check their royal sources.
April 27th, 2008 06:25
Wow, so lucky lady! she get a keys from Wills to enter at Clarence House! and join in every agenda of the Royal! so fabulous! oh kate i want to change with you! but wills so lucky boy too can be your marriage partner, both of you must thanks for God & Mary cause they give both of you a fabulous marriage partner in your life Amien. oh, i’m fixing broken heart hiks..hiks..croot! i need more tissue! Please hug me wills!
April 27th, 2008 08:16
I agree with Will. It almost seems as if there is clear intent to make her look unfavorable….hmm…….
April 27th, 2008 08:46
Clear intent to make HIM with little brother YES look like a spend thrifter (public taxes to build a NEW gym) and her as too over her head.
LOL for Katie Nicholl on this one.
April 27th, 2008 09:09
I don’t think it makes anybody look bad. Having a gym today is not bad, it’s smart. It didn’t say that this was something the princes really didn’t want. And did the taxpayers pay for this. Maybe Charles paid, or William?
And I don’t for a second buy any story about Katie Nicoll being used to make Kate look bad. On the contrary, I think she has been one of the writers that has been mostly pro Kate through the years. And she hasn’t been all that wrong either.
April 27th, 2008 09:21
The issue IMO is that Katie Nicholl writes an article making it look like if a gym never existed in CH, and KM asked permission to construct one. The title says it for itself. Shrug.
April 27th, 2008 09:42
Dagy this article isn’t exactly favourable towards Kate it makes her look bigheaded. That is not the impression she wants to give if she is considering joining the Royals.
Katie Nicholls has been wrong on a number of occasions and Will is pretty much accurate on his percentage on Nicholls. She has always been pro-Kate but I think she has been misled quite a few times by whatever source she is getting her information from. The source concerned doesn’t seem to have Kate’s best interests at heart either.
April 27th, 2008 10:23
I agree with you Jess. I highly doubt that she had a gym built for her. She just probably uses William & Harry’s gym and there’s nothing wrong with Pipa using it with Kate. If you start thinking that she shouldn’t use it beacuse she’s not William’s girlfriend, then you are thinking too hard and letting your mind wonder too far. It’s a friendly gesture to let Pipa use it and lets face it, she may be the boy’s sister-in-law one day. So leave it at that. My God.
April 27th, 2008 10:58
I agree Will and Jess.
April 27th, 2008 12:02
Hi Guys,
Think back.
Who promulgated the huge story of the redesign and redecorating of William’s appartment at CH. That was in Aug/Sept last year and yet again made Kate look like the spendthrift girlfriend/future wife overriding the staff at CH and William’s own wishes.
In all honesty from what we know and what we have seen Kate has received very little from William in the way of presents. She always wears the friendship ring he gave her and the gold (I would think) bracelet but there aren’t any other visible items.
She paid her own fare to the Seychelles, and nearly always travels to functions and events separately from William, so I imagine that she pays her own way.
There was also a report that she paid her share of the Christmas Party expenses at the nightclub.
So in honesty it would seem that she is not a spendthrift, but possibly a very low maintenance girl friend of a Royal Prince but still these stories come out about her, making her out to be an expensive luxury.
Someone, somewhere has it in for Kate and I hope William is conscious of that and looks out for her interest.
Lets wait and see what the next ‘expense’ story that may be attributable to Kate, or perhaps they would like her charged with the helicopter landing/immediate take off on her parents land.
April 27th, 2008 12:58
Another silly tabloidish article to be taken with a very large grain of salt.
The interesting point is the dinner on thursday. IMO, the Royal family has been sending out some not so subtle messages regarding the future plans of William and Kate and if she does indeed attend this dinner with him, it will be yet another clear indication of what we can expect in the near future. Probably soon after the Phillips/Kelly wedding.
April 27th, 2008 13:01
^ I agree Will. I can see that a few palace officials and Royal associates may not have totally warmed to her and may hold her background imparticular against her. They may be secretly trying to get rid of her though William doesn’t look like he wants to let her go at the minute. Like it or not she’s a middle class citizen and some may still see her as unsuitable for William. Though William being William is unlikely to get rid of Kate just because people see her as too common.
As for this gym business. She probably is a regular visitor to CH because of who she’s dating but I don’t think she’s totally moved in and is bossing the staff around or ordering for gyms to be built. It makes her look too big headed and she doesn’t seem to be totally high maintenance. I think the likelihood is there is a gym there and she’s been given permission to use it and there isn’t anything else to it.
Last rumour I heard was that Kate was supposed to be back living with her parents as it was close to Will’s RAF base. So how she could have time to go to CH’s gym once a day baffles me unless she’s been in London all this time and has just kept a low profile.
April 27th, 2008 13:34
Yes Jess, she was seen a couple of days ago at a club celebrating her brothers birthday with her family but she keeps a very low profile. It’s not like a couple of years ago, when she was everywhere. Yeah I totally think she uses the gym that is for William & Harry and maybe Charles, he always seem to stay fit. I have read about the dinner event and it seems like it will be full of fun with lots of entertainment. It would be nice to see her with him. But him may just attend this dinner alone. I hope I’m wrong on that. Also you are right Will, the press is making her out to be too expensive, she don’t seem to be like that at all.
April 27th, 2008 14:55
I have a treadmill, stationery bike, rowing machine, weights and other gym equipment in my garage so that I can keep my body fit and toned and I also have an inground pool for swimming laps. Gee - I guess I also had a gym built for me. Anyone can have a gym these days - all you need is the equipment and a place where you workout, so anyone making a big deal out of this story is just being silly. I’m a female and I know plenty of guys and gals (some of whom are in the military and are always training) who are very fit and toned but they still workout at home in addition to belonging to a fitness club. It’s not a big deal.
April 27th, 2008 15:32
lets admit katie nichol’s isn’t the most reliable source, and any credibility as a reporter is long gone they should fire her for all the wrong stories
April 27th, 2008 15:44
No they can’t, her gossip sells - 5 million readers LOL
April 27th, 2008 16:15
Hi Guys,
It’s interesting to read your comments but what is much better is that some of the nastiness that came into our discussions a few months ago now seems to have stopped.
Yes there will always be comments made that we don’t like and disagree with (ask Claudius and Rman about our conflicts) but these last few weeks these disagreements have been civilised and have been accepted in the spirit that I believe BRW was started for and which I hope will continue.
Thanks Guys.
What I really came on to say was that when I was a lot younger when my Daddy was alive he arranged a visit for me and my sister to St. George’s chapel in Windsor. This is where the Garter ceremony is held. Obviously we were not there at the time of the ceremony but it still made an impression on my sister and I.
The individual carved pews of the Garter Knights have their banners with their Coats of Arms on draped above them. Very, very impressive.
The Monarch always performs the ceremony , if she/he is fit and well, and all previously appointed Knights still alive walk in procesion to the Chapel.
For William’s ceremony it will be his Grandmother, H.M. the Queen who will invest him and it is a solemn and spectacular occasion.
As Kate has,at present no official standing within the Royal Familly I don’t believe she will be there in the such close proximity to he Queen, but I hope she will be somewhere close by looking on with pride as William is accepted into the Brotherhood of Knights.
I am sure the ceremony will be televised live and Liz and I will most certainly be watching.
Enjoy it Guys if it is shown.

I’m too looking forward to the Garter ceremony. Should be a very grand occasion and a proud day for William.

my link isn’t working hate that sorry guys will try again later
April 27th, 2008 16:26
Yes Will I agree we all have been more civilized in our discussion and some have also decided to ignore entering into one, in disagreeing with different matters. But that is each persons choice, which I also have noticed.
I look forward to see PW knighting in June, which is the most important one announced. Nevertheless, I’m also looking forward to see the previous events to that one.
April 27th, 2008 18:57
Jenny,
What an original topic you have come up with!!!
April 27th, 2008 18:59
Will,
Thank you for the description. I honestly almost felt I was there with your details. Most importantly, what a sweet memory. Thanks for sharing.
April 27th, 2008 23:30
Guys,

Hi Steven,
I’m at the office so will be quick.
Great links which I am sure will thrill your devotees and cousins over the water. Again service super.
Hope you didn’t mind my earlier comment about nastiness and disagreement. When I was laid up I became quite despondent reading some of the really rude and cutting comments. They really aren’t called for especially amongst friends on here.
Best wishes and kind personal regards.

Hi Will/All,
Not a problem.
I felt the same way when it was happening. I’m sure all visitors here would prefer a positive attitude rather than a negative one.
Hopefully episodes like we experienced earlier this year when things got a little heated won’t be repeated.
I have sketched out a comment policy for this website and I encourage all posters to take a quick read.
It isn’t my intention to run an iron-fisted approach to comments but I do feel the need for some kind of guidelines as to what’s expected.
It’s mostly common sense kind of stuff.
http://www.britishroyalwedding.com/blog-comment-policy/
I’m happy to take any feedback related to the policy. Please contact me via the About page rather than via the comments.
Regards,
Steven

Someone said kate always wears the ring and braclet PW gave her. I haven’t seen the braclet since Balmoral.
April 30th, 2008 15:10
do you really think william would give her a ring .think of what the press wuld say the next day
April 30th, 2008 15:17
If he gives her the RING on the right finger, the press would say “They are engaged, finally” !
