Well as some of you may have noticed, BritishRoyalWedding.com was unavailable for a good part of today. A Fox News report about a ‘royal makeover‘ for Kate Middleton and her imminent engagement to Prince William sent our web traffic through the roof. So much so that our hosts had to pull the plug before things got nasty!
But we’re back now, albeit with a few changes to ease the load…
Unfortunately I’ve had to change the way the website displays comments. Posters may now experience a bit of a lag between the time they submit their comment and when it actually appears – a bit of a bummer I know, but necessary to keep the website up and going for now. I’ve also had to temporarily close the forums and remove the gravatars from the comments. Hopefully we’ll be back to normal soon!

I have seen the Fox report but it doesn’t say anything new does it.
It repeats earlier news reports and is in similar vein to some DM reports.
Nothing there really to change any thoughts on future events but if there is no engagement or if the engagement is several years away Fox news will have as much egg on their face as the DM
ked, you are correct. The Fox story is really just a rewording and a more positive spin then the DM version. I think what all these stories coming out shows us is that the William and Kate story is one for the ages and once their enagagement is announced it will be one of the biggest media events of the decade. We just need to be patient and wait for things to play out. I feel the plan is in place but certain steps are being followed behind the scene that the public is just no privy to. One thing there is no doubt about is that when this announcement drops, it will be somthing to see!

Hey Everybody…so I have MAJOR news that can end some of our speculation regarding Will and Kate’s holiday!
My friend just got back from Mustique and confirmed that Wills and Kate were, in fact, on the island and they even spoke to them briefly when they (literally) ran into them at dinner.
It started early in their trip when my friend was trying to take pictures of his 4 year old son playing on the beach. An “official” person said that a celebrity was on the island and that all cameras were banned, unless within the confines of their own villa. My friend, naturally, protested slightly, saying that he really had no interest in whomever was there and that he was clearly just trying to take pictures of his son playing. No luck, he still had to put the camera away because the staff member said that they’ve had a huge issue with paparazzi for the week, and therefore there were no exceptions allowed.
When my friend got back to his rented house, he told his wife and she was extremely annoyed and did the usual rant about “celebs always think they’re above everybody else. Who could possibly be THAT important to create a camera ban?”
They went off to dinner for the night, reluctantly, because it was an organized party that the island throws each year, and has proved to be fairly dull in the past. They had nothing else to do, though, so they went. When they were there, my friend’s wife turned around quickly at one point to go grab something. She was looking down and accidentally bumped into somebody wearing flip-flops and jeans. As she worked her way up, she saw that it was none other than William AND Kate that had been standing behind her! Clearly she was shocked, but she said they were both extremely pleasant and that Kate is actually much prettier than the pictures convey. And, conversely, Wills is much more bald than the pictures convey. Haha. I guess they were actually staying 2 villas away from PW and KM and were talking about how one of the villas was owned by Margaret or something of that nature. (To be honest, I kind of stopped listening to the details after she told me who she saw, and I had to ask for a recap!).
Anyways…we now have confirmation that they were, in fact, in Mustique….and the excessive camera ban explains why there isn’t a single photo that has emerged from guests.

I think you’ll find that Princess Margaret did own a property on Mustique but Lord Lindley sold it a few years ago.
However I understood that the property was much larger that a villa , had grounds with a walkway down to the beach.
But still a good story and your friend could have sold that to the DM for a fortune.
Isn’t it strange that newspapers with all their resources and contacts have been unable to dig out this story and the camera ban and paparazzi
control succeeded.
I am surprised that the paps didn’t in fact file the story without photographs. Usually they are very quick to make money

I said exactly the same thing to my friends about selling the story, and they looked at me like I was insane. It’s safe to say that they are not royal enthusiasts, as I am, and they didn’t understand how that could ever be considered “worthy” news. They just thought it was cool to see a Prince! I explained the back-and-forth on the forums about “did they or didn’t they go,” so my friend said I could go ahead and post it if it would really make all of us that much happier to hear about it
So, obviously I thought of BRW immediately, and was more than happy to share it with all of you first, since this is by far my favorite site!
It is indeed odd that the other site took it down, but perhaps they don’t want anything posted without “valid” confirmation. I can understand how they would be concerned about the sources of a “mere poster” as opposed to a hard-hitting journalist. All I can say is that I completely lucked out by having naïve friends that told ME the story instead of a journalist! It was like Christmas come early! Haha.
Also, in regards to why the paps didn’t file, sans photo… my friend made it sound like the ban was pretty hard-core, and so I don’t think the paps would’ve been able to file any sort of story without at least one eyewitness statement, you know? Because the paps would look stupid (more stupid) if they filed the story and then found out that it was all staged to keep the paps hanging in Mustique, when they were really in Seychelles or somewhere else. Did that make sense?
Oh, and I was using the term “villa” loosely, so as to not make my friends sound too ostentatious

One thing that puzzles me is why William and Kate would venture off of their private villa where they have a chef to eat in “public”. I guess they got bored,huh? Curious22, thanks for sharing that information with us! It’s nice to hear that both William and Kate were nice and pleasant to others. I imagine that William and Kate attended the dinner party because it was something special, since the island throws the party every year. It’s good to get a confirmation that they were really there, but I had come to the conclusion that they were really in Mustique anyway; William was very tanned in his navy photos, you could definitely tell that he’d has some sun.

She’s done very little of that in 2008; I haven’t seen many pictures of Kate coming out of a club this year.
I don’t think she’s been clubbing at all.
I believe in Feb. 09 he’ll propose and there will be a July 09 wedding. I’m starting to think this is what William wants. And, afterall, it looks like she’s been a loyal, devoted friend to him.
Even though I wish she would have done SOMETHING while waiting. How hard is that to figure out…atleast for her public image…she should have atleast devoted herself to one special charity.
Thanks for the story Curious. I’m actually happy for WIll and Kate that they managed to enjoy their holiday without any pictures being splashed all over the papers. As much as I enjoy seein pictures I’m also happy for them that they got to enjoy their private time together.
About Kaste partying: Last time she was seen out and about was April 31 with her ex-b/f Willem Marx in Bouji – about 6 weeks ago. Apart from that I think she’s only been out on family celebrations and with William to that charity ball, oh and to Afrcia Africa. So 10 times at most within 6 months. Hardly what I would call a party girl. That’s why I find the recent criticism so ridiculous. I could have understood that last year when she was seen clubbing at least once a week but this year? We hardly heard of her.
WOW What A Great Story about PW and Kate being on this island, it’s great knowing that the paps and others aren’t allowed to take their pictures anymore including the other vacationers own family members what a deal to go on vacation and not being able to take pictures. What a run of luck to actually run into Kate who’s wearing Jeans and flip flop.
Just makes me tiggle inside knowing that William is so happy with Kate and the world just stops to revolve around them. Seriously they’ve been seen out and about frequently last year, she attended his wing ceremony and yesterday they attended a charity boxing ball together. So yes they are a couple.
Well I’m not talking about royal protocal officially that a statement would be made by Clarence House but they are officially a couple. I think royal protocal get’s too much in the way of things, that’s why William & Harry like to do their own thing.

If they’re not a couple now they never have been because I can’t recall any announcement from CH that they were a couple prior to any break up.
The only announcement from CH will be of an engagement but now I think about it, as he is a direct heir, the announcement may have to come from the Palace.
If they break up, then there will be no announcement, just a realization that they are seen out with other people and never seen out together, and the newspapers will work it out.
The fact that they are never ‘official’ in official terms has been the biggest problem that KM and PW have had to face.
She takes the’ flack’ alone and he carries on as usual. It really shows where the real strength in the relationship is ,doesn’t it ?
KM is a strong, capable and a loyal person and I should think William may just about be realizing it.

If you really believe that then I’m afraid you haven’t been taking notice over the years.
Yes, both PW and PH have kicked over the traces but when push comes to shove they both take the royal line.
That is how they survive century after century and the nearer the throne they are ,eventually the message gets through.
A word from the Queen, or from her chief enforcer, Price Philip, and they fall into line. They are allowed to kick over the traces but if there is any threat to tradition then they are told in no small measure where their best interest lies.
If you notice a slight change in their attitudes or their activities then you can usually believe that the word has come down and I do believe that the word has come down over the past year.
Yes believe they are both allowed some latitude but the number if degrees from that latitude is limited an I think that both reached that number and were brought back into line.
