Mandrake learns that Carole, who was an air stewardess in the days when flying was still glamorous, raised eyebrows with her behaviour at a recent dinner party near her home in Berkshire.

“Carole’s hosts had the rather old-fashioned notion that the men go to one room and the women go to another after dinner,” one of her friends tells me. “Carole, however, pooh-poohed the idea and stayed in the same room as the men while they drank their port. It caused a bit of a stir. I don’t think she gave it much attention, though.”

It is not the first time that Carole — who owns a successful mail-order company providing children’s party paraphernalia with her husband, Michael — has demonstrated a willingness to flout social convention. Well I’m sure Catherine told her mother nicely that the rules have to be followed. It’s not a big deal. There’s no reason to make it seem like she commited a crime. I don’t think royal family really even noticed, the press is the ones that makes a big deal about these things. Anybody that will become family to the royal family have to make sure they are extra careful when in public, they are being watched all the time and when the press see something that they think is worth talking about, it all goes down from there. The Middleton’s have to take a few lessons from the most reserved person in the family, Catherine. William & Catherine are very reserved and a few lessons from them will do the trick.

My mom is harsh sometimes to me and my brothers, ’cause she expects better of us. I’ve read that Jenny is a mom, maybe her being harsh, or even disappointed in PW/CM, is just her mommyism coming out. Oh my,Katie Nicholl is writing fiction once again. She seriously needs to make up her mind whether she wants us to believe the Queen is for or against Kate,lol. It could also be that this article is in response to backlash from the place PR dept, meaning maybe a letter was written or a suggestion was made that at the earliest time, she write a more positive article regarding HM and Kate…just a thought. Once again, I will not buy into any of these articles prior to the event. They are simply no reliable.

The Queen had asked her if she would like to attend the celebrations of her 82nd birthday but modest Kate and William declined. “They talked it over and decided it would be too much pressure for the other guests.

Kate is, however, expected to have a starring role at Royal Ascot this week.

I guess to be able to sue Burrell for slander William and Harry would have to be able to prove that he did NOT sleep with Diana which I guess is virtually impossible (One can’t prove that something did not happen). However if I were them I’d punch him in the face at the next chance I get. Luckily enough Burrell made such a fool of himself the last years that noone takes anything he says seriously anymore.

Im sceptical about the Ascot story. How come Katie Nicholls who told us a week ago that HM doesn’t like Kate and wants her to get a job now claims that she invited her to host a table at Ascot? And why should Kate turn such an offer down and risk angering HM? IMO, the DM just wanted a story and since they probably learned that neither William nor Kate would be at Ascot (they never were before), they made that garbage up. So now when Kate doesn’t turn up (since she never intended to attend in the first place and wasn’t invited either), it looks like there might have been some truth to their story.

Katie Nicholls isn’t what I would call reliable. Quite a few times she’ll report something that she’s heard about William/Kate etc and then the following week she’s busy backtracking or contradicting what she wrote previously. I don’t know who her sources are but from what I’ve read they’re either not very reliable or they’re messing her around.
Two weeks ago Nicholls was writing about how the Queen didn’t approve of Kate’s lack of work and now she’s giving her, her own table at Ascot so the Queen can’t disapprove of her that much then. Lets face it Nicholls is clueless.

If you notice most of M/s Nichol’s stories revolve around ‘what has been said about KM by one person’ or ‘what ‘friends’ have said KM said or ‘what neighbours have said about the family’.

In other words she is creating conflict which then feeds the various cretins on this and other sites to say that KM or KM’s family are leaking to the press.

These stories are made up because they are unable to find any criticism of her, her life ,her appearance or behaviour.

If you can imagine the amount of the resources that have so obviously been spent trying to find out something real to be printed about her then most normal people will realise that there is nothing.

What amazes me is the amount of latitude newspapers and blogs allow to the simple people who like to write the vindictive stories about her.

Hello is not saying that Catherine turned down the Queen’s offer but will attend Ascot. The Daily Mail probably got it wrong.

I’d love to see both Kate and Chelsy all dressed up for Ascot but I wouldn’t bet money on it though Chelsy was seen shopping in Chelsea recently. Maybe she got one of those crazy hats. IMO, this is just the papers making money. They don’t know what to write hence they start a “will she won’t she” series of articles. They do the same every year for Christmas, have done so with Wills wings ceremony and Peter’s wedding and are now doing the same thing with Royal Ascot. I just find it funny how some continuously try to attribute all these articles to Kate or her family. Just because some “journalist” quotes a family friend doesn’t mean that someone who’s indeed a friend actually spoke to them. The same way when they quote a “palace source”. Only when its a palace spokesperson who commented the thing is “official”. Apparently these events just get more existing with speculation about Kate being there thrown in.

I agree, If she goes to Ascot and is seen within the royal enclosure – you must receive an invitation to get in the royal enclosure. Out to any other vip table or section ratings is to the public and you pay for it – all goes to charity.

Those are very reasonable points you make and $ 10 million is a lot of money for a gal to turn down, so that would certainly seem to poke a big ole hole in the Goldigger Kate theory, wouldn’t it? I guess there are those skeptics who might think she was willing to turn away $ 10 million then in return for a chance to have access to hundreds of millions later(through marriage to PW), but I for one, am no skeptic, as the $ 10 million would have been the done deal whereas a Royal proposal is still a bit up in the air.

I think there might be a little sumpin’ called true love involved, which probably breaks the hearts of all the Wills fans, but hey, at least they are happy!

I think kate is going to try,and ride it out with william she knows the 10 million will always be there in fure book deals ,an dif she is like burrel even more in marketing.

Good point Lisa. I never understood those who accuse Kate an her family of golddigging and “social climbing” either. To me this just is the easiest label to put on someone when you don’t have anything else negative to say. William may one day be rich on paper but he’ll never be free to use all the money as he pleases – neither will his wife. If she wanted a rich guy to “keep” her she should have gone for TvS or any other aristocrat. A platonic friendshp with William would surely have been the wiser decision then since it offers access to his circles without the bagage. I also don’t get the notion that she’d be so eager to become a Princess. What for? Surely you may get a nice title but you also get constant public scrutiny, ridicule and a lifetime of work and duties. Ever since Diana and Fergie the idea of a fairy tale life as a Princess is dead. I’m sure no young woman in her right mind would WANT to be a Princess. Surely they’d accept that fate for the man they love but not long for it.

Wouldn’t that be disastrous to any future parnership for both KM and in particular PW ?

If as we believe KM and PW have had an intense relationship over the years how long would PW and/or KM take to get over that ?

How long before either can even contemplate a similar relationship with another partner ?

How would possible future partners be able to become secure in a relationship knowing the intensity of the PW/KM frienship ?

Well,I must say that todays events surprised me. While I was not surprised by Kate’s presence,I was surprised by her visablility. Shocked,actually. By the looks of things, she is intergrating into the family very smoothly. Things appear to be right on course,indeed.

Yeah I know what you mean. But I wasn’t shocked by her visability because so often the facts about her relationship with the Royal family and William can get lost with all the speculation but you know that things are going great and William & Catherine are moving at their own pace. It’s so evident that Royal family is very supportive of them. I do hope we see her at Royal Ascot. I always knew that the summer would bring such happiness. It was such a special day for William and he had his family and longtime companion there and that was a beautiful thing.
