I tend to wonder if William wasn’t putting Catherine through some sort of loyalty test during the April 2007 breakup? This is a young man who has been let down and betrayed by so many people — perhaps he wanted to see for himself that Catherine was “the real deal.”

I think you’ll all agree, she passed with flying colours and most definitely is!

I think the break up was genuine but I have always thought that it was KM who did the breaking up.

I think she was prepared to accept PW wandering eye but not the childish and constant one night stands he appeared to be having.

I think the straw that broke the back was the girl who was escorted from his barracks at 4am after a drunken night out with the boys.

I think that broke her heart and it was clear she was badly hurt by that and the subsequent attacks on her famiily.

PW did get her back and the famous phone call in the car park was not PW breaking it off but the start of his comback trail.

I think it took him longer than he thought and it was many months before they were really a couple again and I don’t think the Seychelles holiday was the success the papers claimed it to be.

My own view is that it was only in the early months of 2008 that they became really close again. Obviously I could be wrong because we don’t really know what is truth and what is smoke screen

Someone once mentioned on here that the monarchy has existed for 1,000+ years and except for the last 50 or so years arranged marriages were the accepted way of establishing and continuing a royal line.

In recent years there has been the advent of ‘love’ marriages which have not always worked.

So perhaps, and this is supposition only, those we have labelled ‘the establishment’ whose main occupation is to protect and continue the monarchy, may think that the way ahead in troubled times is to revert to the established system of an arranged marriage.

The lovers PW/KM may be considered by ‘them’ as a threat to their project so ways and means should be found to rock their boat. This may or may not be supported by others.

Think 18 months ago. KM was very popular and no one had thought of saying cruel things about her.

They broke up. KM continued to be popular but PW’s popularity dropped like a stone.

They made up, one way or another, but suddenly the nasty remarks on KM started. How or why they started would be hard to find, but at the same time efforts were made to push PW popularity.

He bacame action man with lots of publicity and his popularity recovered. How was this managed ? Who managed it ? What was the agenda ?

Lots of questions but difficult answers and that is why I ask you not to count chickens. Instead just pray and hope.

I have a strong feeling that arranged marriages – collateral damage – aren’t in the cards of the Monarchy 21st century. Although – keeping to some practices – she will or already has gone for a full medical examination – If you know what I mean again.
