Chelsy Davy’s loving Leeds
She’s no stranger to the bright lights of London or polo fields of Berkshire, but life is suddenly smiles better “up North” for stunning Chelsy Davy.
Prince Harry’s blonde girlfriend has fallen in love with Leeds after settling into university there.
She’s having a ball hitting the city’s student hangouts with a posse of new pals. Her sunny mood is a far cry from how she appeared just a few months ago.
A chilly and lonely Chelsy spent a miserable winter in her £50-a-week student digs.
One pal said: “It’s no secret Chelsy wasn’t very happy up here at first, but that’s no surprise. Plenty of students – especially foreign students – feel homesick and Chelsy was no different.
“But she stuck it out and and has made a solid group of friends for fun and companionship.”
Chelsy previously studied in Cape Town, South Africa, where she lived with her brother Shaun, 25, in a luxury detached house and drove around in a soft-top Mercedes.

Look who’s talking…. Can’t wait for her to be attacked to “leak” favourable info about herself to the press…

This one was also in the People. Kate is to get a job.
June 22nd, 2008 04:20
As much as I think a job in an art gallery would suit Kate I do not see why she would have to go to Florence to get one? Surely she wouldn’t intent to work in Italy…

Hi Group – I’m still happily vacationing in England. Been here 2 weeks and am staying until July 10th – what a great trip it’s been so far and one of the highlights was having seated tickets to the Trooping of the Colour and seeing Her Majesty, William, Harry, Charles, Camilla and Princess Anne so close. I videotaped the entire event and the Queen looked lovely – big smiles on her face throughout. William and Harry were quite dashing seated on their horses in their uniforms with the big bearskin hats on (William initially rode in at the beginning in open carriage with Camilla). Quite a spectacular event!! Long live the Monarchy and long live Queen Elizabeth.
Also met this girl who plays polo sometimes with Wills and Harry (I went into a polo shop in London to buy some official polo shirts as gifts and we started chatting – she gave me a list of some great places to watch matches and maybe see Harry or William play).
England is a great country – so historical, so beautiful, the people are terrific here. But London is quite a mess with all the traffic, etc. I am seriously thinking about moving to England by May of next year but could never live in London – way too expensive and it’s nearly impossible to drive here. But the sights you see are just glorious – Buck Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral and so much more!
By the way – most of the Brits I’ve talked to love Kate Middleton and would love to see her marry Wills – they say that the media makes up some terrible stories and lies about her, which I agree with. And to those who say she is lazy and doesn’t work – I’m told she is quite the opposite and is more than likely quietly working for her parents company. And the Brits also don’t like the term, “Waitey Katey” which they find insulting to both Kate and William.

Jade,
Thank you for that posting, and I’m so pleased you like the UK. Most Guys here are OK but there are places to avoid and usually your own common sense will guide you.
Yes everyone is excited by the fact that KM may break into the Royal familly and eventually become Queen.
There are idiots from UK and other English speaking countries who decry KM but whatever they say it is nothing but envy and a sad expression of their own lives
Get hold of today’s Mail on sunday and get to polo ground near Highgrove. You may be very lucky so take your camera.
Good luck, good hunting and keep those eyes and ears open.
Please keep us posted.
June 22nd, 2008 05:02
Hi Jade – thanks for the update, and for the ‘word’ on Kate Middleton from the people on the street!
Jess – thanks for the story link – good find!
June 22nd, 2008 05:06
HELLO,
If KM did go into Europe to work then goodbye PW.
She would realise how restrictive life here is for her and how restricted life as a royal would be.
I know she adores PW, she really must do but a few months away from her present restrictive life would enlighten her and boy friends would flock around. Not just because she’s PW girl friend but because she is so outstandingly attractive .
She may find that a better and more fulfilled life and possibly realize what she has been missing.
PW beware.
Don’t let her out of your sight.
June 22nd, 2008 05:33
Hi,
Sorry to come back. But second thoughts.
Anyone consider what would happen if it were reported that KM was a curator or assistant curator at a particulat gallery in Florence,Rome, Paris etc.
Flocks of newly interested cultural tourists would arrive so security, policing ,parking and ancillary services would have to be increased X+ times.
Who could contemplate that.
In addition KM’s personnal security would be at a greater risk and would need 24 hour surveillance especially for the first 6 to 12 months.
Think about it guys
June 22nd, 2008 05:42
I agree with Ked. Kate probably would be better staying in London because long stints in Italy may open her eyes to what is greener. She may get too comfortable and find herself a nice Italian hunk and not come home. Imagine that, poor William. I may tear them apart so if people want a wedding then keep her in England away from those irresistable Italians. lol.
Besides there is no need for her to go abroad since there are plenty of galleries in London to choose from.

Do you want to see something really cute?:

Go on have a look it’ll make your day.
June 22nd, 2008 07:00
Hi ,
If KM was going to get what people call ‘a job’ she would have done it by now.
We don’t know what she does day in day out. Obviously helps in the family business but how could anyone offer work without accepting the publicity, problems and hassle.
She was going to NY with the photographer bloke. No truth in story.
These stories are all same. Take no notice
Next step she gets married or into the hills.
June 22nd, 2008 07:20
Sorry Guys I’m hogging screens at mo.
Apologies.
Just seen several photographs of yesterday’s polo event.
One thing struck a chord.
On most PW keeps very close to KM or KM keeps very close to PW.
That’s odd.
When there are photographers about PW usually stays clear.
What’s new ?
June 22nd, 2008 08:30
Yeah, Jess. That pic is sooo cute. They look so in love.
About Catherine works in Italy. Ha ha, actually I have imagination about that. But without public eyes. You know, being secret and all. No one knows she works outside London or even outside UK… That would be cool and peaceful for her (although staying far away from her Prince)—and also “peaceful” for her employer, I suppose.
But I guess it’s hard for her to “run away” from press. I also wonder how do those press manage to chase stories by stories about the royals…
June 22nd, 2008 08:35
On, and Jess, I agree about what you said:
“She may get too comfortable and find herself a nice Italian hunk and not come home”.
Ha ha ha, *lol* So true! A nice Italian hunk… :p
And William would send the SAS team to have a go on that Italian guy *lmao*…
June 22nd, 2008 09:07
Thanks for the update Jada, keep enjoying your vacation, all sounds very nice.
June 22nd, 2008 09:07
It would be sooo refreshing if she were to take on some meaningful work. She’s a throw back to a time when women had no clout, no power…when the only goal they had was to find a rich and powerful husband. And I know what you all are going to say…”but she can’t get a job because of all of the publicity…she has no choice but to wait…And to that i say…RUBBISH. She could easily apply her self to a charity. But she doesn’t even have the fortitude to do that!
June 22nd, 2008 09:13
She is supposedly working for the family business. Who may prove that true or false, if and when you have your close knit family.
IMO if she is working for the family business, stick to it and don’t go on the outside, she already has the experience working on the outside and everyone knows what its all about, 24/7 papz at the doors of her Chelsea flat and Jigsaw. Are you followed 24/7 to and from your house, job, personal life (shopping, beauty parlor, out for the weekend, vacationing) ? Don’t think so.
June 22nd, 2008 09:22
and look what the press and forums have done with her, when she worked for Jigsaw – due to the papz 24/7 they called her “daily kate”, she quit and since no one see’s her pics with frequency she’s lazy “watie katie”, what’s next.
Katie Nicholl supposedly found out her “favorite” drink, called her “cocktail kate”.
And as Jada said, its insulting.
June 22nd, 2008 09:34
Adorable pictures of the two snuggling and happy, and yes, I think this is real love as, let’s face it, Kate has more to lose from marrying William then William has to lose from marrying Kate.
Look at all Kate will lose: freedom, the ability to do something as simple as go on holiday or even run down to the ATM, to go out for a fun night at Boujis (or what have you) when she pleases. Sure, she will gain wads of money, art masterpieces, castles & palaces, jewels, countless servants, amazing clothes, power, clout and prestige — but at such a price.
Any girl who is willing to love William the man and overlook all that she must give up to be his Princess has my vote AND my respect.

‘King’ Wills’ fortune three times Queen’s
PRINCE William is in line to become the first billionaire king.
The Prince, who was 26 yesterday, already has a personal fortune of more than £8million.
But after inheriting the estates of his grandmother the Queen and his father Prince Charles he could be worth three times as much as Her Majesty – who has a £320million fortune.
Royal biographer Andrew Morton makes the prediction in E! Entertainment show ES Forbes Top 20 Young Royals, to be aired next month.
He says: “It is not beyond the realm of possibility to think Prince William could be the first billionaire king.”
Zara Phillips Crown Princess Victoria (Sweden)
Castles
Wills earns only around £20,000 a year in the Navy but as a future king he is set to inherit eight palaces and castles.
The show lists what Wills has spent on 26year-old girlfriend Kate Middleton.
It includes £10,000 holidays to the Seychelles, £16,000 ski trips to Swiss resorts Klosters and a £23,000 Audi car.
Paul Maidment, of Forbes, says: “He’s a rich man.”
Wills is rated top young royal in the world, with Prince Harry second and Zara Phillips and Princess Beatrice third and fourth.
● ES Forbes Top 20 Young Royals is on E! Entertainment Te l e v i s i o n (Sky: 152/ Virgin Media: 173) on Sunday July 6 at 8pm.
June 22nd, 2008 10:00
So true alsgal, that’s why William has chosen a strong woman to be his companion and later wife. I do believe that you must be very stong and have a good spiriual life in order to be a part of that great institution. Diana may had some trouble in the past but she always remained strong minded throughout her royal life. Another strong person is The Duchess of York, people always putting her down because they think she just wasn’t good at being royal and she’s very free minded but they fail to realize that behind closed doors, the royal family still have a great affection for her. Including the Queen that often invite her to her home and they also go riding.
June 22nd, 2008 10:10
While the money probably doesn’t make Wills unattractive to Kate, in my opinion it’s pretty obvious their love goes deeper then Kate only wanting Wills for status or material things, or that they like to get drunk and get friendly with each other, which is the impression the tabloids seem to want to give of the pair — and one I find to be very rude!
I can see these two pursuing many charitable causes together, almost a Michelle and Barack Obama pairing, where they are able to use their brains (Geography and Art History not exactly being lightweight subjects to study at uni) and connections to make the world a better place.
June 22nd, 2008 10:12
Sorry Rman, I just saw your post and I heartily agree with you.
June 22nd, 2008 11:10
Here are some more great pics of Kate and William together http://tinyurl.com/6xvofw
June 22nd, 2008 11:28
Hi Me,
I fear that some of your information is incorrect.
I’ll quantify some of them;
The Audi car is on lease from the Audi company. If you recall KM was criticised because she had been able to negotiate a preferential lease on her car because of her association with PW.
The hotel on the holiday tothe seychelles may have been paid for by PW but she booked and paid her own tourist class return via Paris. William travelled directly from Kenya where he had been working on his charity.
I don’t think any details on Ski trip were made available but she travelled to Zurich on a different flight with several friends. How PW travelled was not disclosed. Herefore it may be that she paid her own travel expenses.
AS a matter of interest it was reported that she paid her share of the Christmas party expenses.
All this is gleaned from newspaper reports but obviously their reports may not be accurate.
I don’t think that PW has spent very much on KM as she doesn’t seem to wear expensive jewellery.
Most of these documentaries on the RF are made up of rumour, speculation and what the reporters wish you to believe.
There is no way they know any more than we do.
June 22nd, 2008 11:43
Its not my information, its Andrew Morton’s info. I just copy/paste the lets call it article/E entertainment info – which will be on TV.
June 22nd, 2008 11:45
Our poster friend Will had/has the same idea that you have on that matter Ked, but who knows…
June 22nd, 2008 12:16
I would imagine Kate has some sort of trust fund from her parents, so whether they are paying her way or Wills is paying her way is unimportant to me — what’s important to me is that the Kate bashers understand someone other then the taxpayer is paying for Kate, at least until she becomes an official RF member.
So what if Kate doesn’t pay her own way now, what does that really matter in the big picture of life?
Is Kate any different from Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, Tiger Woods’ wife Eva, or any other beautiful girl who has (or in Carolyn’s case, had) landed a rich, charming and sporty young man and who is not forced to worry about her economic circumstances?
I think instead of being jealous, we should applaud a girl such as Kate for figuring out what she wanted, and going for it. Isn’t that what women’s liberation was all about — getting what one wants?
June 22nd, 2008 13:12
tiger woods wife had a nanny job of a riend of tigers thats how they met she was working
June 22nd, 2008 14:08
well, that is true there jenny, as I do remember that Tiger’s wife was working as a nanny but Kate also seems to be working, albeit as a cupcake photog — although it is no mean feat getting those cupcakes to look sweet and pretty and stay fresh looking for the cameras — it’s almost the same as what she will be required to be as a Royal wife!
June 22nd, 2008 14:24
I hope Kate will be sucessful in her new job as an art exibitor good luck to her!
June 22nd, 2008 15:18
Well, both Kate and Chelsy watched the Princes play polo today. there are pictures in the DM, There is also a story from the Press Association which is kind of odd in that it mentions Kate’s presence at the event but not Chelsy’s and she was clearly present. Sounds like they all had a great weekend!
June 22nd, 2008 15:25
Yup, that’s right, the DM has pics of today’s polo. Lisa I thin the Press Association is confused – yesterday’s Chelsy wasn’t there, but I guess she joined in the festivities last night and stayed for today’s.
June 22nd, 2008 15:37
Me, I think there may be a bit more to it. Is the Press Association also part of Rota?
June 22nd, 2008 19:25
i was just reading the dailymail and was curious as to who the Sara McCorquodale is who wrote the 2 william and kate articles. i always thought that that was his aunt.
could someone please clarify because it wouldnt be very nice for your own aunt to sell you out to the press.
please someone explain it to me.
June 22nd, 2008 19:50
older sister of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
June 22nd, 2008 19:53
Perhaps it is some sort of joke amoungst the reporters as Lady Sarah with an “h” at the end is the name of William’s aunt?
Knowing the Mail and their utter lack of quality reporting, I’ll bet it’s really a reporter named Stan or Phil using a fake name to sound more legit.
June 22nd, 2008 20:06
Right, Katie Nicholl using a nickname perhaps, after her latest embarrasments, what counts are the pics of saturday and sunday that show them all happy
June 22nd, 2008 20:07
let the lady alone. only her family and friends and the prince know’s everything about her.
June 22nd, 2008 20:09
Who Katie Nicholl, leave her alone, never, she will stick to the DM, she needs her job. But this time she couldn’t write no fantasy creepy story
June 22nd, 2008 20:14
The journalist who wrote this article is really exited
AS A tall, awkward 14-year-old Kate Middleton was teased about dark hair on her upper lip, given no more than two out of 10 for looks by a band of boys at her co-ed boarding school and cried herself to sleep at night.
But in matric (grade 12) she went through an almost overnight transformation. She became curvy, the unflattering hair vanished and she started wearing low-cut tops and tight jeans – and by the time she arrived at university she was turning heads. Including, of course, that of the most eligible person in Britain.
Six years later Kate is poised to become a princess. Bookmakers in Britain have stopped taking bets on whether Prince William will propose or not – it’s widely accepted he will; the only question now is when.
She has been welcomed into the royal inner circle and even attended the wedding of William’s cousin, Peter Phillips, without her boyfriend, who was at a friend’s wedding in Kenya. Royal experts say this is a sure sign Queen Elizabeth approves.
And Kate – or Catherine, as she now prefers to be called – is proving to be the epitome of grace, politeness and discretion, as becomes a future queen. When an enterprising journalist managed to reach her on the phone recently while she was holidaying with Wills on the island of Mustique she told him to get lost in the nicest possible way.
Asked if she and Will were about to get engaged she replied, “I’m terribly sorry but I will not talk about that. I am truly sorry but please excuse me.”
So when will Diana’s handsome blue-eyed boy and his classy commoner girlfriend end the suspense? Royal insiders shed light on what’s most likely to happen next in this red-hot royal romance.
WILLIAM wont pop the question this year, those in the know say. Apart from the fact the prince will spend June and July at sea with the Royal Navy he believes it’s too soon for him to take such a big step. He once famously said he would marry only “when I’m 28 or 30″ – and he turns 26 on 21 June. His dad, Prince Charles, married at 32 and insiders believe Wills will wait until next year to propose – after which the protocol machine will swing into action. The prime minister, leader of the opposition and members of the British cabinet will be informed before the news is made public. Coded messages will be sent to Commonwealth heads of state and the Archbishop of Canterbury and close members of both families will also be told but warned to keep things under wraps until it’s official.
It’s hard to keep quiet about such big news though. News of Charles and Diana’s engagement was leaked to the media, who scooped the palace and sent royal aides scrabbling to make an official announcement.
Royal engagements are usually announced in the early months of the year, followed by a wedding in June or July. This gives palace staff time to arrange the event in the warmest months in England and means the public can share in the celebration. August is out as the queen goes to Scotland for the month.
Kate’s life will change forever once an engagement has been announced. She will have a round-the-clock bodyguard to keep the paparazzi at bay and will probably move into St James Palace in London, close to Charles’ home, Clarence House, where Wills lives.
A ring on her finger would allow her to spend Christmas with her fiancé and the rest of the fold at Sandringham, the royals’ country retreat.
WILLIAM will be working full-time on royal duties in January after his two-year stint with the British armed forces and is already being groomed to become the 1,000th Knight of the Garter, Britain’s oldest order of chivalry. Every knight needs a lady by his side and Wills is no exception – which makes a wedding next year look even more likely.
If he follows his dad’s example he could announce his engagement in February with a wedding following in the British summer. Experts are even predicting an exact date. June is a packed month for the royals with the Ascot horse races, Wimbledon and a run of garden parties so July is a more likely month.
It’s most likely to take place on a Saturday so the public can cheer them on and best dates in July are either 18 or 25. If he waits another year to propose the wedding date will have to change to 17 or 24 July 2010.
William and Kate will probably tie the knot in Westminster Abbey, London’s most famous church, where the queen was married more than 60 years ago. Charles and Diana said their vows in St Paul’s Cathedral but given what happened to them it has unlucky associations for the young couple.
VIP guests will fly in from around the world, packing out London hotels and crowds are likely to camp in the streets for days to ensure the best vantage point from which to watch the procession go by.
Prince Harry is set to be his brother’s best man, supported by Wills’ best friend, Thomas van Straubenzee. Kate’s sister, Pippa, will undoubtedly be her bridesmaid. Flower girls will probably be William’s second cousin, Margarita, or his uncle Edward’s little girl, Lady Louise.
A reception for 100 close friends and family members will follow at Buckingham Palace where the traditional appearance on the balcony will thrill more than a million well-wishers crowding the streets.
As for Kates title following her wedding, she will have to be content with being Princess William until Charles becomes king. Then Wills will inherit the title Prince of Wales and she will be known as Princess of Wales.
However all titles are the prerogative of the queen, a Buckingham Palace spokesman explains, and she could decide to make her grandson a duke, giving his bride the title of duchess.
There are several dormant dukedoms in England so the couple could become the Duke and Duchess of Connaught, Cambridge, Sussex, Avondale or Teviotdale.
ROYAL wedding souvenirs will flood the market as soon as the engagement is announced – although the Woolworths chain in Britain isn’t rushing to get any mugs or tea towels printed just yet.
Two years ago they were so certain an announcement was imminent they started their souvenir range – but they’ve been forced to scrap it, a representative says, because the picture of the couple on the memorabilia is out of date.
“We got burned,” he says.
But the signs the couple are headed for the aisle are all there. Kate is often spotted leaving Clarence House in the early morning and when Wills is in town they spend most weekends together at Highgrove in the country.
They also go clubbing in London with William’s upper-class posse of pals and Kate enjoys a cocktail or two as much as the next young woman. Yet she never overdoes things and is always the model of decorum and elegance.
The future Queen Catherine has come a long way from her days as miserable, gawky Kate. Wonder what those boarding school bullies would rate her out of 10 now?
June 22nd, 2008 20:28
I hope Kate goes away to work in another Country, that would be great!!!

Jackie Kennedy met JFK when she was working for a newspaper and was sent to interview him.
Letizia Ortiz met Pr. Felipe when she was working as a tv journalist.
Work is good, it never hurts to find a career or job you enjoy doing.
Kate’s just plain lazy I think.
June 22nd, 2008 20:47
Merrick, I do understand why you might think that, and I do agree that those other ladies had legitimate employment prior to marriage –
but I guess I’d really like to tell myself that Kate’s not really that lazy, that she’s a cupcake photographer and has good manners.
To think the RF would be dumb enough to let in another lazy royal after Camilla would break my heart, it really would. And I fear it might break the Monarchy as well.
June 22nd, 2008 21:01
Nice to see Jecca there too. She seems nice.

June 22nd, 2008 21:06
I do think it’s really harsh to judge Kate (Catherine) on her working history. Sure those people who are listed a few posts above mine, had jobs, but Kate met William at University, she never stood a chance at finding a normal job. At the end of the day, there is not ONE person on this post who really knows what she does with her time. Can we please not go into the argueing about her working/lack of work again?
June 22nd, 2008 21:42
he lost the true love of his life when he lost jecca
June 22nd, 2008 21:49
So in other words, don’t have an opinion, unless it’s a positive one.
I happen to think she’s lazy and doesn’t work. She has had every chance of finding a job,or career, even a better chance than most University graduates, given her connections. There is no excuse. The Queen is not buying it either according to recent reports.
June 22nd, 2008 21:55
Sara I agree — besides, it would be impossible for Kate to have a job now because she would be hounded night and day by the paps, and that would be doubly difficult for her as she will be hounded night and day anyway when she is a Royal. I know people like Michelle Obama have jobs whilst partnered with famous men, but that is different — her guy is running for President whereas Kate’s guy is the future King of England and Kate is so much more hounded by the press.
I am pretty sure she is doing more then getting her legs waxed and her hair done every day as it’s probably in her best interest to keep all of her charitable endeavors secret as the Catherine bashers would only claim she is getting “too Royal.”
June 22nd, 2008 22:00
mrs obama is hounded justas much ,and still manages not to go clubbing ,and work ,and not send the womens movement back 50 years,oh ,and thenthere is the fact that alot of those cupcake pictures km says she took were there long before she said she took the job,and did the last photographer get paid as much.i doubt it
June 22nd, 2008 22:07
and Mrs. Ob. met Barack while she too was working as a lawyer at a Chicago lawfirm.
yep, she worked too.

The palace knives are out for Kate Middleton according to the Woman’s day magazine in Australia. It says it looks like the palace are trying to split up William & Kate.

ked, I think banning a select few who seem to relish in hijacking each and every positive or thoughtful conversation with negative BS would go a long way. until then,I suggest we simply ignore it and hope they get bored and wander off to a forum that will embrace the negativity.

Sorted.
To all: If you’ve just come here to drop nasty or negative remarks without really adding anything new or worthwhile to the conversation, please don’t bother. Don’t take it personally – there are other forums on the net more suited to this style.

June 23rd, 2008 05:27
lisa,
Thanks for backup. Nothing further to be said.
I think the “establishment” for want of a better description are frightened by the PW/KM love match.
Love is a very powerful emotion as most of you know a lot better than I do, and in particular a woman’s love is usually unconditional.
Unfortunately with the 1000+ years of genes inherited by Royal princes I am unable to quantify one who has remained faithful to a spouse. Even Edward the Confessor was known to have several ‘ladies of the bed chamber’ and Prince Charles was known to have made his position clear to Diana.
With that historical evidence these ‘grey people’ may think it reasonable to assume the same for the current Princes and if their ladies react because their love is so unconditional difficulties within the monarchy may occur.
That is what they fear as it’s a threat to their being and they may think it reasonable to change the direction of a love match and replace with an arranged match.
Hence the batches of misinformation which emanate from these “sources close to..” or ” a palace aid said….”.
However, what is not clear is who initiates the policy and who gives the green light to pursue such a policy.
It may even be a fruitful excercise for some enlightened and enthusiastic investigative journalist to trace the initial source of all the negative reports about KM.
The results may be quite surprising.

BRW,
Steven, just noticed your post.
Thanks and well said.
Trixie,
Super set of photographs possibly the best ever.

Yes, thanks for the heads-up Trixie! Good work by the news gathering monkeys of late.
Keep up the good work!

It seems like the Palace/Clarance House is clearly in pre engagement mode,PR wise. Out of nowhere we are getting an abundance of pictures of William and Kate being a couple, dancing, socializing and (gasp!) showing affection! Yes, indeed the train is rolling right along. Next stop? The Abbey or St Pauls?

lisa,
I would love to hope so, but the last set of photographs seem to be from a high megapixel mobile phone. I think they have been taken surreptitiously , even on a phone provided by the Mirror.
The polo pictures were professionally taken but on long lense camera. Perhaps PW/KM were not aware of their presence and just acted spontaneously and naturally especially the one of KM whispering in PW ear. That was the best ever.

As nice as it is to see such affectionate and informal photos, I do somehow feel it is an invasion of their privacy. However, I am enjoying a bit of a “told ya so” moment, I must confess.
Also, I would like to say one last thing about the Kate/job issue and it is this: the same exact women (and they are all women, at least going from their online names) who condemn Kate for “setting the women’s movement back 50 years” are forgetting precisely the entire point of the women’s movement which was: that our fellow sisters be free to choose the life THEY wanted, not the life that was dictated by others.
So, in that sense, Kate and the others I mentioned are doing just fine, thank you.
June 23rd, 2008 16:28
In regards to the job issue and Kate..I think it may be possible that William may not want her to work due to the fact that she is followed everywhere by press and it poses a security issue for her whereabouts on a daily basis to be known. Just a thought.
June 23rd, 2008 16:49
Alsgal, Lisa I do agree. People may not believe this but William has a lot of control over this and may have decided to make Kate work completely behind the scenes in what she wants to do.
June 23rd, 2008 16:50
I also feel her working somewhere other than her parents would be rather difficult. Why bother starting a job and then have to quit to become a full time royal. I agree with Lisa that maybe William doesn’t want her to work. I didn’t work when I was engaged and I went shopping, worked out, met friends for lunch, got my hair done. Why does it bother so many people when the world is full of women who do the exact things as Kate.
June 23rd, 2008 16:52
Which is the Middleton family business, whatever position: cupcake photographer.
I have always thought about that since she quit Jigsaw – 24/7 papparazi following her in/out flat/office site – terrible.
June 23rd, 2008 16:53
She was the Daily Kate
Now since we don’t have a Daily Kate, She is the Katie Watie, Waitie Katie :roll eyes:
Etc. etc. etc. how insulting, what a shame of the press and Hatie Katie…

Lisa, I think what you’re saying makes sense, although I do wonder if security is a main concern why though would she be allowed to remain at her flat in Chelsea since most know the location of that thanks to that irresponsible German magazine article a few years back.
I think there is more here then we are seeing. At least to my POV, it seems most logical that she has been working fairly steadily for Party Pieces over the past year or so. She might not be out in the barn packing the plates, but she could easily do a lot of these things (the photography, web design) in and around Bucklebury.
Personally, I think that is sweet, helping her Mum and Dad out, and see nothing wrong with “keeping it in the family” — after all, the Firm is a family business too
June 23rd, 2008 17:16
alsgal, do we know for sure that she stays at the flat in Chelsea fulltime? It would surprise me if she did. I believe she is with William most of the time but I don’t think they stay at CH. I think they stay at Highgrove. When William is not around,I think she stays with her parents or at the flat but I cannot imagine her staying fulltime at a flat that everyone knows about.
June 23rd, 2008 17:59
I think she is not there full time, judging from the frequency of photos (London= more coverage) and probably moves locations frequently and varies her travel routes which is what security experts recommend to high-profile types.
Somehow I suspect she already has full private protection (very discreet, plainclothes type) that Wills might be paying for himself, but of course that would need to be kept quiet as I can only imagine the press explosion if word of that got out.
June 23rd, 2008 18:27
I wonder about her security myself. With all the security people around the prince,I would imagine he has gotten good advice on the matter. I do think we are now seeing the beginning of the grooming of the two of them as a couple prior to an announcement. Next year should be the big event. Too bad I will be watching it on TV as air from the US and the exchange rate will keep me home.
June 23rd, 2008 19:18
Knowing what a thoughtful and caring person William is, I, too, feel pretty certain he has made sure Kate is in the best of hands when he can’t be there to protect her himself.
I’m hoping for next year as well, so am cutting down on the bingo and mani/pedis so I’ll have enough for the trip. Even if I have to sleep in a bench in the park (London being so expensive) wild horses could not keep me from seeing these two get married!
June 23rd, 2008 21:34
I can’t wait to make the trip as well. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I think you may be right alsgal about some plain clothes protection. She is dating the future king and she is a target for some crazy people. There has to be some sort of protection for her.

Hello all,
It doesn’t seem as if KM has any security detail, but restrictions on the publication of her movements when not wth PW may well be for security reasons.
The same may well apply to CD as both are high profile close friends of PW and PH but I doubt that close physical support is made available.
They may well both be fitted with individual attack alarms which would alert security if they are deemed to be in danger.
It was reported several months ago that CD’s family had arranged some form of security for her but depite rumours it has never appeared that KM has any bodyguard allocated.
This may not be the case but we do not know anything for certain

That does seem like a possibility what Ked is talking about, and seems a common sense thing to do.
Needless to say, I think many of us here will feel a lot better when Kate is brought into the Royal fold.
Quite honestly, and I don’t mean to be harsh, but I do wish the RF would take care of these things sooner, and not wait until the last minute (day before engagement) to give them their Royal Protection officers — I rather think they could use them before, and also it would allow Kate to become accustomed to having someone shadow her 24/7, which I’d imagine is an awfully big adjustment for a young lady to make.
