Queen waits for late train like us - The Sun
A bemused Queen stares down a railway track – as the Royal Train runs ten minutes late. But while the situation may be familiar to most of us, this was the first time Her Majesty had been forced to wait around on a platform. And with nowhere to go for a quick cup of tea, it meant the Queen, Prince Philip and other VIPs had to wait patiently…

When will the birthday concert be? Do you think Kate and Chelsy will be invited?

completely OT: Does anyone else have problems accessing WHU? I couldn’t get on the site for 2 days now. Have there been any new pics? I’m on withdrawl. ;-)

Kate is already invited for Charles birthdays every year, before the press have knowledge of her date with Wills.
If Chelsy was at Diana’s Concert and Peter’s wedding, I guess she will be invited too.

Have just tried to get onto WHU and failed.

Seems like a ‘breakdown’ or they are re hashing the site.

At another forum I saw pictures from today of Charllotte Grimaldi in a Mario Testino’s event in London. I think Kate could be there too. Does anybody know?

Thanks Ked. At least I now know that it’s not my fault.
Carla, I looked at the photo sites but couldn’t find any. I guess Kate didn’t attend. She seems to keep a very low profile recently.

    July 16th, 2008 15:39

Yet an an excitingly low profile, I must say! Makes me think something is brewing, and I don’t mean trouble. Looks like we may be on track for a 2009 Royal wedding, if all goes according to plan.

It is to my mind, given the timeline we are looking at, what with William finishing his military service, Kate helping at the family firm (so much more discreet and flexible then if she was still at Jigsaw) — that it is possible both are biding their time until a Feb/March 2009 engagement.

Though a pre-Christmas engagement would lend a delightful touch of joy to this year’s Yuletide festivities. Particularly with the economy being so dreadful, we could all use a cup of happiness at the moment! :)

I guess if you want to be part of William & Kate’s circle you have to speak their language. I just love the way a group of people do their own thing. I could get use to the new tongue.

    July 17th, 2008 06:56

I agree Trixie and dizzy 13. Interesting article Rman, but I’m sure I will never be able to be part of their circle, so, it ins’t be very useful to me… for who can be one of them, enjoy it!

About Kate’s work for her parents, I visit their site since it was revealed by the press and last week I visited again. It’s really better than ever. There are loads of good new pics, detailed, very well organized, that probably help to increase the sale and I guess it’s Kate’s work. Who had visit the site before can see a great change now. I’m part of those who prefer she had a career in art’s world, but I’m glad to see she is good and has talent, even taking pics of “cups and cakes” - as the newspapers insist on emphasize. Sometimes I thought if all the elougies were’t only her friends trying to make she looks an excellent girl, but now I’m sure in her proper time, not under press pressure, she will prove how good she is.

  • Carla
    July 17th, 2008 08:19

But Kate’s low profile can be just what she prefers as she was more party-girl in 2006/2007 and now had back for what used to be her old life-style, after graduation.

  • Me
    July 17th, 2008 08:32

Yup, she used to party, just like Chelsy is actually partying. A thing of age/maturity. But KM is going out with PW, therefore bashing is necessary for her bashers.

  • Carla
    July 17th, 2008 08:38

The problem is that we know, not very well let’s be honesty, Kate better only when she moved to London and was ‘introduced in William’s society circle”. Maybe she enjoyed that luxurious new life for a while, but it isn’t what she loves above all likewise Wills sometimes.

  • Carla
    July 17th, 2008 08:42

She used to party and still parties a lot, but please, never exactly like Chelsy!

  • dizzy13
    July 17th, 2008 08:55

I fail to see what is wrong with asny of them partying — I like to go out and have a fun time too. At least Kate is not bothering some uptight employer with her hangover or by showing up at noon like i have! :)

Like others have said, most people work because they have to, not because they have some grand passion. If Kate doesn’t have to work, then good for her. It doesn’t IMO mean she will be lazy later on because there’s all kinds of folk who might work hard and end up on the dole or who never “make a difference” anyway.

Why not have fun when one is young, because it sure gets harder past 25!

  • Trixie
    July 17th, 2008 12:38

IMO neither Kate nor Chelsy are what I would call a “party girl”. From what we know neither girl goes out more than 2-4 times a month. That’s hardly what I would call party-girl behaviour. Even if they spent every weekend partying that wouldn’t qualifie them as “party girls” in my mind because that’s what a lot of twenty-somethings do, especially those who have the money to afford it.
I agree with you Dizzy about the whole work issue. I won’t get into detail though. I have the feeling I spend far too much valuable life time already argueing with those who have nothing better to do than endlessly harp about Kate’s lack of employment.

OT: WHU is back up. Unfortunately there are no new pics. :-( It’s getting a little too quiet for an ethusiastic, nosy royal watcher like myself. ;-)

It really is tiresome arguing about her not having a conventional job, I agree. Who cares? It seems those people that insist on her having a job wish they didn’t have to work or are unfulfilled in their own life. Why else would one be so consumed by it.

  • Me
    July 17th, 2008 13:39

Perhaps its because they’ve been at the Job Centre

  • Apryl
    July 17th, 2008 18:19

Because they want her to be responsible if she’s going to be queen. Noticing how they are with the press, I doubt this is possible.

  • B
    July 18th, 2008 04:56

My main reason for wishing for her to have a job is: what will she do if they break up? People say that William has stolen her twenties because she has been unable to work, but she made those choices all along. Even if she marries a rich man with a title most of the wives of these rich titled men do work.

e.g. Claie Windsor, Countess of Ulster
e.g. Autumn Kelly (not titled but husband is part of the RF)

Most people who have married men with titles came from a titled family, so it is difficult to find examples but above are a couple.

It does not matter that she does not need to have a job, therefore she shouldn’t. I don’t need to have a job but I would be bored if I didn’t. The fact of the matter is that if she does marry William she will be Queen. Do you think that the public are going to respect a woman who has done nothing in her life except get a degree and marry a Prince? Do you think that the public are going to respect a woman who was able to go to concerts, balls, clubbing etc in VIP areas whilst the UK went into a recession? Do you think that anybody will take her seriously when she congratulates people for working hard, when she never had a hard working job before she married?

An arguement for Kate joining the royal family is that she is a “commoner” and people can relate to her. But very few people could relate to a woman who has never had to work, who has got into VIP areas because of her boyfriend.

The RF survives because of good PR, and I do not think that Kate has realized this. I say this not because I do not like Kate but because I do not think that she is making the right decisions.

Thank you for letting me get that off my chest :)

We’d have to wait for that to happen B.

  • B
    July 18th, 2008 05:33

Yes we will, but why take the risk now? What is the worst that could happen by Kate getting a job?

What I said above was an argument for her getting the job no matter what the future brings, so she would be prepared for all eventualities.

  • Me
    July 18th, 2008 05:47

We really don’t know what she’s doing, if getting prepared, if working for her family, if is the question. She’s a smart gal. She has proved it in the past, I really don’t get the internet forum majority who think negatively or even worse about her or future.

  • ked
    July 18th, 2008 06:45

    B,

Sorry there are lots I’d like to say but the one I’e pcked up on is the requirement to be a royal girlfriend to get into VIP areas.

I have no regular contact with royalty but can get into VIP areas at clubs, dome,
Grand Prix, monaco, Goodwood,Red Bull Air Race to name but a few.

  • B
    July 18th, 2008 06:46

I don’t think the worst about her future at all, I am thinking in terms of what would be best for her. I do like Kate as a matter of fact but I do not think that she is making the right decisions. I like to try the what if situations and I feel that she is taking a risk by not getting a job, that is all.

P.S. I’m not part of the majority and please do not try to make me part of a group just because I do not believe that Kate is making the right decision. This is the only slightly negative thing that I have against Kate, so please do not say that I think the worse about her.

    Thank you.

Sorry Me, if my comment above (the P.S bit) sounded a bit strong, I just get a bit fed up with people presuming that I dislike Kate because I do not like the fact that she does not have a job. What I said is nothing against you and I am sorry if it offended you in any way.

P.S. sorry for the triple post.

What would be best for Kate, only her, her family know better.

  • Carla
    July 18th, 2008 09:27

I don’t know for who is the criticism about say that Kate must to have a job or call her party-girl, but from my part I use the term party-girl to describe someone who goes to parties frequently, not who live in parties, and if the real meaning of this term is something depreciative sorry but I didn’t knew. About Kate and job, I’ve posted my opinions before and what I wrote about her pics for Party Pieces and my preference to see her working with art is b/c I think she is an intelligent woman who can do great things, not that she is less without it.
This is what I’ve wrote when some were comparing K and CD saying Chelsy is better than Kate b/c she is still studing while K apparently is doing nothing and what CD choose is more significant and harder than art:

“I can see that many who have apparently great careers but didn’t get that honestly. What makes me admire Kate is exactly her behaviour and the way she was raised (with values that money, title and degrees can’t give to no one).”

This is what I think above all. I’m not British, so I don’t have the right to say how the future queen must be, what I say is b/c Catherine is someone famous from my genneration, maybe the only woman, who I really find worthy. But is an absurd to put a model in my head about how I think she is and want she follow it. I’ve passed for it when Wills was a teeage boy and his image of Prince Charming was build by press, I closed my eyes for the rest and when unpleasent things (for me) was revealed I got disappointed with him as he had said in some moment that he was perfect, now I see it was, and still is, wrong jugde him that way if he has never promissed nothing to no one. I don’t intend to do the same with Kate, as my teenage years has passed too and is time to get mature.

  • Carla
    July 18th, 2008 09:33

I agree with both, Me and B. Only Kate knows what’s better for and be with Wills is her choice, as it is Wills’ choice date and marries her, so, no victim here.

I think she would be fine if she and william broke up. It would not be hard for her to find a job. Like I have said before, I think their future is already planned and I think she will thrive and shine making public appearances. I think the majority of the british people will adore her when they marry.
