sonia,I believe they are engaged for the same reasons most couples get engaged and marry a year or 18 months later. They want the comfort of the commitment but cannot for many reasons marry until a later date. Many times it is career oriented. In this case, it is more then likely due to the schedule William MUST abide by. He has no choice. He cannot say..” I am going to put the Navy off for 6 months so I can get married”. Also, a wedding of the magnitude of William and Kate’s takes tremendous planning on many fronts. The timing and date would be dictated by many factors and I believe that William and Kate would have little to do with alot of it. I think all of this will become clear when the announcement is finally made.

Me is right, she knows what she is getting into (or at least should do, and I hope she does). But I doubt that they are engaged as there is no point in being secretly engaged for so long. Also, if they are someone e.g. Queen, her family would have been told and one way or another it would have been leaked (those sort of things always are ). They probably have made some sort of committment like ” I want to marry you one day, but I am not ready to do it now. I will when I am ready”. That sort of thing.

There is no need to be sarcastic Me .
I didn’t say that I know inside Buckingham Palace but I know what it is like to grow up in a palace and I know that most people think it’s cool but in fact it isn’t .You can make alot of friends who tell you whatever you want to hear about yourself but when you turn your back they say different things about you so the very first lesson you learn about life is that you must not trust any body .Iwish Ican see things the way you see them and believe in the love story that you believe in .

i don’t agree with you. Why would they get engaged now if they are not going to be able to announce their engagement? In that case, if they are not able to announce they engagement then they may just wait to get engage until they are able to announce it. don’t you think so? I just don’t see any purpose of them getting engaged now if william is going to be in the navy and they are not going to be able to be together.

I also feel that William and Kate are engaged and have been so for quite some time,probably since last year after the breakup.Her presence and acceptance at Royal events and something about the smile on her face speaks volumes. They just cannot announce things until later this year or early next,IMO.Hopefully she will have had plenty of time too be versed on protocall and the ways of the royals,this will make her much more prepared for the life she will have as a royal. I think things are getting close,though and I am anxious to see how things go once William returns from the Navy.

I actually believe that Kate and P William are engaged They’re just keeping the truth from the public to prevent “mass hysteria” as PW has still duties to attend to. I mean, the Royals, although some chunks of their lives are made public, are actually very exclusive people. The fact that Kate has attended a lot of royal engagements is evidence enough of her place in the Royal Family. She always seemed like “one of the Royals” whenever she’s around them. Well, at least that’s what I saw in the pictures.

It’s pretty clear that she’s a brilliant lady. She LOVES PW. And from the onset of their relationship, it’s pretty clear from the very beginning that she knew what the Royals always wanted…A PERSON WHO DOES NOT TATTLE TALE. And she absolutely delivered that with flying colors.

Alsgal: what Belle does ins’t my business, I’m against who give interviews about others who never do it.
-”Prince William hates people who talk to the press.” (from nikki) – Is about it I’m saying, he just talk to the press b/c it’s part of his life, but is obvious he hates to do it and hates people who speak about him, although to defend him – he doesn’t defend himself. I think Kate will not be so uncomfortable as William in interviews, but I believe she thinks the same about it.
And when somebody do something you don’t like, yes, the name of this is disrespect.

sonia,I don’t think people really grasp what kind of everyday stress homes with dating PW. Just look at the amount of pictures out there of Kate when she is not with William. It is staggering. She must have such a deep love for this man because many women would have not been able to stand it,IMO.To have kept silent al this time is also something that people dont’ give her credit for ,either.I know some people out there think this article was a PR stunt,if it was so be it…people need to see the other side of things instead of carrying on an on about Kate not working etc..
