Kate & Chelsy get Royal Birthday Invites
The Queen has invited the girlfriends of princes William and Harry to a lavish banquet celebrating Prince Charles’ 60th birthday.
William’s partner Kate Middleton and Harry’s on-off girlfriend Chelsy Davy both received invitations to attend the bash at Buckingham Palace on November 13.
It is believed to be the first time Middleton and Davy have been invited to a formal reception at the palace.
“It would have been a snub to William and Harry to have left their girlfriends’ names off the guest list,” a senior royal source told The Sun newspaper.
About 150 guests have been invited to the party, each having to adhere to a strict dress code - black tie for men and long dresses for women.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and a host of dignitaries are expected to attend the party, which will be held one day before Charles turns 60. (via News.com.au)

Not to be disrespectful of you, but unless you are a close friend of the Prince of Wales or have contact with his senior staff members I don’t see how you could possibly know who he wants at his birthday celebrations. Not trying to insult you it’s just that I’m skeptical of anyone who anonymously posts on the internet claiming to know what’s going on with members of the royal family. But I do agree with your larger point. Very few details about Charles’s birthday celebrations have been made public, including the guest list or the location of a dinner party. The only information out there that I’ve seen is the concert & an exhibition of his life at Windsor Castle. But it’s the summer. The RF is on vacation & there’s very little news right now. So these royal reporters have to write something. And saying that Kate/Chelsy have been invited to BP for PC’s bday is a harmless story to pass the time. However we won’t know much about Charles’s birthday plans until much closer to the event. Having said that, I would expect Kate to accompany William to whatever parties or dinners they’re planning for his father.

Remember that Duncan was the one who reported from Kenya about the Craig wedding and then the story just disappeared into thin air! No gracie, ked doesn’t know anything we don’t know. But it’s true of course that this is nothing more but speculation by the press. Chelsy may not be able to attend since November 13 is in the middle of the week and she may have lectures or other university events to go to.
I would be surprised if Kate isn’t present but I’m sure we’ll get much more about “will she/won’t she” than we may ever ask for.

Trixie, I would think Harry would spend time with her since he was already in Africa anyway. I also bet beside charitable reasons, he went to Africa with his regiment with Chelsy in mind. With all those photos of Chelsy at the races, I bet they decided to keep visit low key and not with many of Chelsy friends, unless they have found the leaker of photos. Harry really been off the radar.

Actually nikki, those insiders are out there and they give the info to The Telegraph and The Sun. But the point is, I’m not suprised that they are going because not only they are the companions of William & Harry but Charles like these girls and they have a good friendship with members of the royal family. So that’s not big news to me. The big news I’m waiting for is the announcement but I won’t get into that right now.

I do not think Kate looks like she is losing weight that would be of concern to her friends. She has looked thinner in the past, so I don’t get who keeps leaking that she looks to thin. As I have stated I think she looks to have put on weight at least her face looks fuller. Okay in the past I have said I thought perhaps she might have had something done, but now I really can’t put my fingers on it. I would say she’s pregnant, but an engagement would have been announced already. IMO. Only time will tell! She looks fantastic and glowy, so maybe it’s just love. William looks thinner to me, but that’s due to being on a boat for a month!

Someone asked about PH/CD, they where recently spotted eating burgers in a Restaurant called Sophies in Chelsea area.
Perhaps KM loaned her the flat - London - Shopping in Highstreet - eating around Chelsea.

Kate looks fine to me. She’s thin but certainly not as thin as she was last spring/summer. Does anybody know about Neil Sean? Is he reliable or accurate? Regardless he’s no where near as bad as Katie Nicholl. His articles seem more gossipy rather than mean spirited like the hacks over at the DM.

Well Neil Sean is not bad like Katie and when he give reports live on Fox News, he seem very sure about what he’s talking about. Katie is not only mean spirited but she looks mean. Neil’s mole probably heard William talking about Kate but I highly doubt that William will tell Neil’s mole directly how he feels. William & Kate seem to be very private and I remember when Harry was interviewed for his 21st birthday, he was asked about Chelsy and he said that he would love to tell the world about her but they are advised to keep their privacy. We are getting to know them better these days but the engagement interview will give us a chance to know them even better. Like I said before, I’m very interested in hearing them talk.

Although I wasn’t born at the time, I have seen on TV of the late Carol Barnes trying to get something out of Diana back in the early days before her engagement and Diana would say a few words but Kate & Chelsy have said nothing and it don’t seem like there’s anyone trying to get something out of them. Well they are stating that Harry stayed away from the wedding, which is not true. I truly think the media blew the whole phillips/Hello! issue way out of the water. The whole thing could have been avoided if Peter & Autumn allowed their wedding to be televised or officially photographed. There was nothing wrong with allowing the public to watch The Queen’s first grandson get married. The Hello! Magazine issue could have been avoided all together. But in the end it was their choice and that’s it. They have moved on.

You guys know how I feel about the DM but Peter and Autumn should have known better than to sell their wedding photos to Hello! magazine. Peter, even though he has no title, is still the Queen’s grandson. I can also understand why William would be upset. What was supposed to be a photo spread about the Phillips nuptials turned into the Kate Middleton show. They basically sold her out to pay for the wedding. I didn’t buy that particular issue but from the pictures online it seems like most of the photos were of Kate or Kate with Harry/Chelsy or Kate with Zara etc. I still cannot believe Peter couldn’t have borrowed the money from his mother or grandmother instead accepting the deal with Hello!. Not saying he deserves to be exiled to another country but I do see how the Queen or other senior royals could be upset about what happened.

Nikki, I truly believe that the royal family has moved on from that and reflect on that day with fond memories. If they was upset about what happened, then I’m sure it was all talked through and understandings was reached. It’s the media that keep rehatching the issue. I think the problem is that William & Peter haven’t been seen together since the bacholar party and it’s giving the impression that they are not talking and having this big issue with each other. Maybe this all can be settled if William, Harry, Kate and Chelsy is seen together with Peter & Autumn someplace. Peter & William are close and I think it will take something bigger than this to sour their relationship.

Well in 1992 it was filmed and the ceremony was held to honor the late Sir Edward Heath. In attendance was The Princess of Wales, The Queen Mother, Prince Charles and Prince Philip. Hello all,
If you think the problem of PW and PP was just because of the Hello deal , think again.
If that was the problem then there is no way PW would allow KM to get involved as he knows the photographers would congregate around her,PH and CD.
I don’t know why but ZP hasn’t been around PW so much over the past few months either and they were really good mates.
If KM and CD have been invited to PC’s 60th then I am sure there is a protocol headache as to where they will sit. Shortly before Armstrong Jones was engaged to PM he attended a State Dinner but had to sit “below the salt” as it was called and well away from PM ,HM and PP.
I’m not sure how much these things have changed these days with the RF but Anne and her family , Andrew and family , Edward , his wife , other royal nieces , nephews and other Royals should have precedent over KM and CD unless an engagement for either is anounced before the party.
As I say I’m not sure how “Royal” this birthday party is to be but with Black Ties and Long Dresses being talked about it seems it’s not going to be an informal affair.
I think organising the seating plan may be a contentious headache for someone and someone may be displeased

You guys are nuts and funny. Thanks BRW for giving me such a honor. I did find another youtube video and it’s called Elizabeth R. It’s a documentary that was made in 1992 and it looks into the life of The Queen. Youtube had a little piece of the doc on their site but now you can see the whole series. It shows The Queen at Windsor, Buckingham Palace, state occassions and private family events. I really like seeing Charles & Diana flirt with each other at a state banquet and how loving the family is with each other. The documentary is called Elizabeth R and you just click on each series 1-11 to watch. Enjoy on again!!!

Ked yes they will be seated with other people but probably not too far from their beaus. They have to get use to the fact that you don’t sit with you boyfriend or hubby at important events like this. On big events, wives and husbands do not sit together and that iis made like that so they can entertain equally and you can get to know others better. I’m sure they know this because Kate attended the Garter lunch at Windsor and they both had the experience at Peter’s wedding.

I’m watching the last bit of the documentary of Elizabeth R and it’s amazing the kind of relationship The Queen has with her grandchildren. It shows Princess Eugenie stepping on her grandmothers foot and the Queen screamed. The way she takes the time to spend with them is beautiful. Now they are so busy that I’m sure when they get together, they really spend their time catching up.

I think it was Eugenie. I just love to see them at family events and behind Palace doors. I really like seeing Charles & Diana together, of course they was seperated at the time but you can tell that they had a nice friendship and not how the media made their relationship look cold and full of hate. It’s actually true that long after their seperation and divorce Diana still went to state banquets and private family events. It’s funny to see William, Peter and Zara at so young. It just goes to show how down to eath the Queen is and she seem to be very easy to talk to.

It’s so funny how nothing in those videos supports any of the alegations made against the Windsors during the break-up of Charles and Diana. Neither did Diana look unhappy or sad nor did any of the family members act cold or distant towards her or anyone else. I think I’ve never seen so much footage of the Queen smiling and chatting with people. That’s really a great program!

I liked the recent documentary about the Queen and the RF- the one where she was shown supposedly stomping out of the room with Annie Leibovitz. Of course she wasn’t doing that at all but they edited the preview to make it look like she had. Still HM didn’t look like she was having fun at that photo shoot.
