Tragic school pal who inspired Kate to raise a fortune – Daily Mirror
The untimely death of an old schoolfriend has inspired Kate Middleton’s most ambitious charity project yet. Tom Waley-Cohen, who was at boarding school with Kate and became friends with princes William and Harry, died aged 20 after a long battle against bone cancer. Kate, 26, was devastated when Tom died in July 2004. Now Kate is fronting the biggest fundraiser yet – a roller disco tonight in aid of Tom’sWard and a charity called Place2Be, which provides counselling to schoolchildren in need…

Prince William to judge exhibition entries – The Press Association
The homeless charity Crisis has secured the artistic skills of Prince William to help judge entrants for a photographic exhibition. The second-in-line to the throne will be part of a panel picking the best images created by rough sleepers set the challenge of documenting their lives. Royal cover-up? No sign of a bald patch on Prince Charles’s 60th birthday coin – Daily Mail
There’s a tradition that royal portraits should flatter their subject. Which is why, presumably, a gold coin to mark Prince Charles’s 60th birthday shows him with a full and flowing head of hair. The Prince has, of course, had to put up with thinning hair since his youth. But there is little evidence of this on the £5 coin which marks his birthday in November and gives him a Boris Johnson-style head of hair…

Do you think Kate will help William selecting the pictures? Sounds very much like something she would be interested in.

Whilst it is fantastic that she is doing the work, I have to say that the headline is misleading. It makes it appear as if Kate set up the organisation, organised everything and was the main role in this plan. She is in fact one person on a large committee and everything she suggested would have needed approval from everyone else (democracy after all).

Her friend died 4 years ago and it is only now that she is doing something. It is great that she is doing something but the headline and above extract implies that Kate was always concerned and always helping. If she really was that concerned, I am sure she would have done something before hand. I can’t see any reason why she didn’t.

Anyway, enough of the misleading article. Hope to see her and PW at the event looking happy. :)
