Prince Harry’s return to Afghanistan too risky

The Prince, a lieutenant in the armoured Blues and Royal regiment, served a ten-week tour in the country’s Helmand province earlier this year, but was forced to return home after news of his presence was disclosed by foreign websites.

The regiment is due to return to the frontline next summer and it was reported that the Prince, 24, had made known his desire to join them in fighting Taliban forces. However, it is now thought he has been informed decisively that such a move would pose an unacceptable risk to him and his colleagues.

A source close to the Prince said: “Harry is absolutely desperate to get back to Afghanistan because he is a soldier through and through and he believes there is a vital job to do there.

“But he is being let down gently because the risks would be even greater this time,” the source told The People.

“Everybody in his family and regiment believe he has thoroughly proved himself in every conceivable way as a soldier and he has every reason to be proud.

“Harry does not see things that way and thinks if he misses out on the most dangerous missions he will be seen as a lightweight soldier.”

During the summer the Prince visited Lesotho, Africa with soldiers from his regiment. They built care facilities for a charity he created to help orphans of the continent’s Aids epidemic.

The three-week expedition was in support of the Sentebale charity, which the Prince set up in 2006 in memory of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales. (via the Telegraph)

I’m not shocked, he has said that if he doesn’t get what he wants, even though he knows who he is and that he is not any normal joe from the corner, he will quit the B&R.

These writers really need some help with their content. Not only are they prowling the IF for stories(how desperate can you get?) but now they are actually lifting copyrighted material off the Middletons Party Pieces website. That should get them another letter from the lawyers at the least.

Besides that, they end the piece with the premise that because Kate is now officially working, the wedding may “be back in the cards”. This is no more then a back peddleing story to cover themselves after they printed alll that nonsense about William and Kate being over because he was becoming a pilot. Or maybe they know something they can’t tell.

They really need to stop getting their stories from the sour grapes over at the IF. It amazes me how a group of people can post all day and night about Kate not working. What are THEY doing when they have time to all day long and into the night? They can’t be working too hard themselves. How many of them do charity work? Looks like a case of the pot calling the kettle back. But the DM is so desperate, they don’t see it.

There is so much good that Harry can do in his position as Prince, why doesn’t he just go for it and make the world a better place instead of wasting his life fighting useless wars?

Of course the military is too dangerous an occupation for a royal prince. I do hope Harry won’t spend his life longing for things he can’t have. He needs to accept his position in life and make the best of it, and hopefully he will. A lot of people stand to benefit if he gets his act together.

They should either secretly send him to Iraq or let him continue doing his charity work, while helping to train people who will be going to war.

He makes everything a better place just by being Harry. :)
