Princess Beatrice’s prized BMW was stolen yesterday after she nipped into a shop leaving the keys in the unlocked car’s ignition.
Bea’s police protection officer went into the store with her. But when the pair emerged the £15,000 Beamer had vanished, with passers-by saying it had been driven off at high speed.
Bea, 20, was said to be upset and “extremely embarrassed” over the theft, which took place in broad daylight.
It is understood it contained a number of personal items. But Buckingham Palace sources insisted none was of a sensitive nature.
Her protection officer immediately radioed for back-up following the theft. And a marked patrol car quickly drew up outside the shop.
If its not an embarassment, I don’t know what is. She did give the car away by leaving the keys in the ignition.
Does Beatrice drive or did her security person drive the car? At any rate, both of them, especially the security person, should know not to leave the keys in the ignition.
Plus you should never leave personal items in your car where passersby can see them. Even the smallest item invites theft.
The thief is going to have a hard time getting rid of the car, though. Obviously it’s too high-profile to drive it anywhere.
First her virginity, then her dog, now her car — my goodness this girl loses everything!
