Prince William rents Country Pad for Kate visits
Prince William has swapped his RAF digs for a swanky country pad so girlfriend Kate Middleton can visit.
Wills, 26, will spend the next two years at the stone-fronted house on land owned by a family with royal connections. It has access to an outdoor pool, tennis courts and a boating lake.
He will keep his one-bedroom bolthole at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire — where last week he began training as an elite search and rescue pilot.
A source said last night: “He’s determined to muck in and socialise. But guests are limited on the base and the room is not up to scratch.”
Kate, 27, is expected to visit regularly from her home in Buckinghamshire.
Flying Officer Wales will use some of his £36,000 salary to pay rent. (via The Sun)

Hello,
This doesn’t look like an old Cheshire estate house. Note the front is a cladding, and the cottage has no chimney but a stack at side consistent with a wood burning stove.
With the second floor open door this looks more like a two flat holiday home with flat 1 on ground floor, flat 2 on upper floor.

I suspect William feeling the need to live off base, because on base his room was intruded upon, according to the postings I was reading untill the early hours of the morning.
Also, I would not be surprised if Harry followed suit at some point, bearing in mind the embarassing video was stolen from his laptop whilst in barrack accomodation.
We will have to wait and see.

Hale, I am very sure the papers are working like bunnies as we speak(type) to figure out exactly where William and Kate are planning to reside. Honestly this is no big surprise,quite the opposite if fact. I fully expected them to set up a home together during his time in the RAF. They are an adult couple who have been together for years. Why would they do anything else? The only issue in question,IMO is whether they will be living together as a married couple. Feb will be an interesting month.

I think its a weekend thing per now, Duncan clearly mentions that PW will keep his dorm room.
Like normal couples, weekends to see each other will be good for them. Both will be concentrated with their work during week days.

Have been surfing all the English Papers, and as far as I can see, The Sun is the only paper who’s published this. Much the same way the Daily Express were the only one’s who ran the story about Kate going to New York. Consequently, I’m beginning to have my suspicions.

Buckinghamshire might be just a mistake by a negligent editor. And not a hint.
Anyway, I would not be surprised if PW rented something for the weekends to meet with his girlfriend, whether it is the pictured cottage or something else. I cannot imagine her staying a full weekend in his room, with a single size bed etc. They have no real privacy there.

Those photos of CD, looked at the rest, man she looks disgruntal. I think she might be wearing a flight jacket, looks like the one my dad has. Although if it’s PH, he would need a bigger size as it looks like it might be to small if CD can wear it. Her mom looks like she is not happy w/CD behavior for the cameras, she kind of gets a couple steps behind her. I guess CD does not like the press intrusion especially PH video which I can understand, but I also think she needs to tone down her attitude a bit as it will not serve her well in the long run. Better to smile, than light up your ciggies in front of the paps. I would never know she went to these expensive boarding schools, etc. and dates a prince by her behavior. I don’t have a problem w/CD as I commend her for her studies, but there are times when you can’t tell the difference between her and “Girls Gone Wild” video.

I think those photos of PH using the beer hose while on vacay w/CD could not have been recieved well back at BP. Then PH video comes out from someone that got into his computer. CD has been given the benefit of being the breakee cause PH is a gentlemen. The only reason why I say this is her latest photos looked like a woman scorned. I don’t think she’d act that way if she ended it w/him. Unless this is another ruse to take the attention off PW new cottage rental?

Hello all,
OK so I was off a bit about the part with PW renting a love nest near his RAF base near Kinlossrossmoss in Scotland (seeing as he’s in delightful Shropshire instead) and however disappointed that I am that Kate will not be able to participate in the Greater Highlands Roadkill Rescue Society — not enough deer on the roads down south — this is good news nonetheless for BRW’s Lawnchair Patrol.
My prediction (actually Madame Clare’s
) is that Kate will continue to work here and there at Part-Time Pieces and will drive up each Friday to the House O’Amour. Friday afternoons will find her washing and blow drying her hair and shaving her legs, applying makeup and perhaps even getting a shepherd’s pie into the oven — I’m guessing a favorite of William’s since all former boarding students adore any dish containing mystery meat.
If the family fun continues in the vain of Charles and Camilla, Services will be provided, and Kate will then spend hours listening to PW detailing his heroic exploits, followed by Kate’s sympathetic murmurs and reassuring statements along the lines of, “You are sooooo brave,” and “Oh my God, that must have been terrifying, and yet, you are sooooo brave”.
I’m sure legions of wishful young Princesses are now heartily put out with PW, but they shouldn’t be. Kate is attractive, does whatever he wants, doesn’t threaten his male ego with her many outrageous achievements, seems pleasant enough, is equally paranoid about her associations, and keeps the really important stuff she knows about him (penis size, financial worries, hair plugs) close to the vest.
In short, he could not ask for a more perfect girl to be his bride.
“You biggest achievement is to love me, Darling?” Bueller? Anyone, anyone? C’mon guys, we all know William is his father’s son so don’t keep hoping he’s going to “wise up” and go for an Oxbridge grad with car she paid for all by herself.
He’s got what he wants, she’s got what she wants, let’s wish them all the best
so I can book my damn tickets!

hear hear Alsgal! Sounds right to me!! I always worried about Harry and Chelsy because Chelsy seem very career driven and not the type to tow the Royal Line (i.e make lots of sacrifices for him just because of who he is) Her family also live in a different country which leaves her with very little support over here. The Mugabe connection also was a potential problem…
But you never know they could find their way back to each other in a few years time… You never know….

CD should re-think the “racist” comments point of view. I think the last thing she or her family would want would be a rehash of how black-employees are treated that work for her father. She loved him during the three years before this video came out and to cry wolf now is transparent. I don’t see her socializing w/anyone of color. It’s one thing to blame the breakup on his wandering eye, but to use the race card is a tad bit hypocritical considering her background.

I think it’s important for everyone to know that we really don’t know what caused the split. The only reason the media can come up with is, they split because of his training. Anything could have happened and we won’t know this because they have a private life that we are not a part of. So no William’s training will not cause a problem or their relationship. Like we have all said before, William & Kate will still see each other, talk to each other etc.

A thought occurred to me – I don’t think that it was an accident that this story (PW renting a house so that Kate could visit) was leaked on the same day as the PH & C story broke.
CH will have known in advance (maybe only 24 hours but still in advance) that the PH & C story was going to break. Given the circumstances publically stated for the split – that PH has put the army first & C. was fed up with hardly getting to see PH – CH will have guessed that people will draw parallels between PH/ CD & PW / KM and that all of the rumours would start up again about a likely break up of PW / KM.
Therefore as if to pre-empt this we have 3 stories this weekend (a) that PW (unlike PH) is going to rent a house so that Kate can visit lots (b) that Kate is “throwing herself” into learning to shot, adapting herself to share her boyfriends interests & (c) that the Queen favours a “credit crunch style wedding” therefore implying that a wedding could be on the cards.
This really looks to me like an attempt by some-one to signal that PW & KM’s relationship is stronger than ever. What do others think?

H, I do think that you make valid points. We have seen in the past that the RF handlers seem to use a typical politicians trick of pre empting unflatering news.
What is different and encouraging is that the comments were made to protect the PW/KM couple position which I do believe is a first , rather than the protective cocoon usually woven to just protect PW’s position.
This I do believe is a significant pointer to the real state of PW and KM’s relationship and the RF’s acceptance that they are THE couple.
I was however disturbed by the photographs of PH,PW, Charlie Spencer and PC and their relative facial features when reporting who PH had consulted about his break up with CD. That really disturbed me.

Hi Ked, I haven’t seen the pictures that you are talking about – but I have to say, if I had relationship issues I think that PC & Earl Spencer (particularly the later!) are the last people that I would talk to. I’m sure though that these details are artistic licence – how would they know who he talked to?? All of the “sources” appear to be from Chelsy’s side.
Re: PW & KM, I have a gut feel that we are finally leading up to a royal wedding. The leaks over xmas / new year appeared to be trying to re-inforce that they are very much together & also to instill some romance. Also the press has really backed off KM (espec. the Dailymail) & when they do mentioned her they are much more respectful that that have been. Unless it is some massive PR stunt (which I don’t believe because it would just make the eventually fallout even greater) I think that a wedding is on the cards & it could even be this year. Asgal get ready with your deck chair
As someone else mentioned 2010 is likely to be the year of the next general election so I really don’t see them having a wedding then. From a purely political / economic perspective (forgetting for a moment that we are talking about 2 people!) I think that this year would be a good year for a wedding & a bit of romance (as long as they don’t spend too much money)

I dont think the Deer stalking story put Kate’s image in a possitive light with the public at large in the UK. More so given the news of the split, because judging by the comments being left, there is sympathy being left for Harry & Chelsy and not much there for Kate at the sametime.
As for the credit crunch wedding I think this is not rather credible given this is the News Of The World here. As for the story in the Sun again it might be true he has somewhere to stay away from the base, but again it may not have anything to do with Kate like it has been reported.
You know I think now Chelsy is out the picture as a GF, it is going to get a whole lot worse for Kate. Because now the speculations starts on her100% worse as it has been for her, and she already carries that ‘waity Katie’ tag with the media and public as it is.

C, I’m afraid your estimation of the hunting shooting and fishing support is slightly out.
In GB the culling of herds is essential to preserve the species given the absence of predators amongst our wild life.
I have family farming in North Wales and Chehsire and the damage to crops and livestock by foxes in particular is now many times what it was.
In addition towns like Chester , Holywell, Nantwich and Welspool are plagued with so called urban fox populations which double every 3 to 5 years.
I do not condone cruelty to animals in any way but histrorically country livers knew the way to control pest populations again given the absence of nature arranged predators.

I think in England it is mixed Ked & really falls along the class lines. I hate to say it but a lot of the upper class loves the whole hunting thing. A lot of other people do not. I’m not sure what I would say the split would be but I’m pretty sure that not all of England is pro blood sports..

Ked, I know that but i’m seeing it in another way as to how the public who read the DM will see it. Katie Nichols has written a scathing article on her the same day we hear news about the other couple.
Comments are being left that are not kind to Kate, but are kind to Chelsy & Harry.
I think that article has had it’s desired result.
