C, I’m afraid your estimation of the hunting shooting and fishing support is slightly out.

In GB the culling of herds is essential to preserve the species given the absence of predators amongst our wild life.

I have family farming in North Wales and Chehsire and the damage to crops and livestock by foxes in particular is now many times what it was.

In addition towns like Chester , Holywell, Nantwich and Welspool are plagued with so called urban fox populations which double every 3 to 5 years.

I do not condone cruelty to animals in any way but histrorically country livers knew the way to control pest populations again given the absence of nature arranged predators.

As for the credit crunch wedding I think this is not rather credible given this is the News Of The World here. As for the story in the Sun again it might be true he has somewhere to stay away from the base, but again it may not have anything to do with Kate like it has been reported.

You know I think now Chelsy is out the picture as a GF, it is going to get a whole lot worse for Kate. Because now the speculations starts on her100% worse as it has been for her, and she already carries that ‘waity Katie’ tag with the media and public as it is.

Re: PW & KM, I have a gut feel that we are finally leading up to a royal wedding. The leaks over xmas / new year appeared to be trying to re-inforce that they are very much together & also to instill some romance. Also the press has really backed off KM (espec. the Dailymail) & when they do mentioned her they are much more respectful that that have been. Unless it is some massive PR stunt (which I don’t believe because it would just make the eventually fallout even greater) I think that a wedding is on the cards & it could even be this year. As someone else mentioned 2010 is likely to be the year of the next general election so I really don’t see them having a wedding then. From a purely political / economic perspective (forgetting for a moment that we are talking about 2 people!) I think that this year would be a good year for a wedding & a bit of romance (as long as they don’t spend too much money)

H, I do think that you make valid points. We have seen in the past that the RF handlers seem to use a typical politicians trick of pre empting unflatering news.

What is different and encouraging is that the comments were made to protect the PW/KM couple position which I do believe is a first , rather than the protective cocoon usually woven to just protect PW’s position.

This I do believe is a significant pointer to the real state of PW and KM’s relationship and the RF’s acceptance that they are THE couple.

I was however disturbed by the photographs of PH,PW, Charlie Spencer and PC and their relative facial features when reporting who PH had consulted about his break up with CD. That really disturbed me.

CH will have known in advance (maybe only 24 hours but still in advance) that the PH & C story was going to break. Given the circumstances publically stated for the split – that PH has put the army first & C. was fed up with hardly getting to see PH – CH will have guessed that people will draw parallels between PH/ CD & PW / KM and that all of the rumours would start up again about a likely break up of PW / KM.

Therefore as if to pre-empt this we have 3 stories this weekend (a) that PW (unlike PH) is going to rent a house so that Kate can visit lots (b) that Kate is “throwing herself” into learning to shot, adapting herself to share her boyfriends interests & (c) that the Queen favours a “credit crunch style wedding” therefore implying that a wedding could be on the cards.

This really looks to me like an attempt by some-one to signal that PW & KM’s relationship is stronger than ever. What do others think?
