Designs for Autumn Kelly's wedding gownInterview with Sassi Holford about designing Autumn Kelly’s gown – High Society Bridal
When Autumn Kelly made her visit to Sassi Holford’s bridal shop in London’s Fulham Road, five months ago, she was simply a beautiful blonde who wanted to look beautiful on her wedding day. “She was incognito,” says the designer. “She made an appointment just like a regular client. It wasn’t until her second visit she told me, ‘I think I should mention I am marrying Peter Phillips, it’s going to be a Royal wedding.’…

Stephen K Amos: “Lay off Harry or I won’t get an OBE” – Mirror
The comic in the latest Prince Harry race row begged for calm yesterday. There was public outrage when Stephen K Amos revealed Prince Harry told him he didn’t “sound like a black chap”. But Amos joked: “I’d like to appeal for calm as the furore is ruining my chances of an OBE.”…

Queen ‘furious’ as trusted aide cashes in – Daily Mail
The Queen is said to be furious that one of her most trusted and senior former aides is co-operating on an unauthorised TV series about her reign. Penny Russell-Smith, the Queen’s ex-communications and Press secretary who spent 14 years at Buckingham Palace and left just over 18 months ago, has been employed as a consultant on a new Channel 4 docudrama called The Queen…

Autumn truly looked beautiful on her wedding day. I wonder who will Kate choose to design her dress?

I’m not sure what to make of the article, of the Queen’s aide ‘cashing in’ on her 14 years at BP.

It mentions the confidentiality agreement that all members of the Household staff has to sign.

However it does strike me as if the courtiers are dithering somewhat.

Perhaps I am being cynical when I say, BP ‘felt’ they had to make a comment so as to distance themselves from this docu/drama, but secretly feel reassured of Penny Russell-Smith’s involvement.

If they had any doubts about Russell-Smith’s co-operation then I’m sure the confidentiality agreement would have been cited as if it were the very Magna Carta itself.

Because it is her relationship with William which is the most popular. In fact it is the only relationship which has any interest at the moment (as far weddings go). He is the future King and a lot of people are interested in him and as a result Kate.

    Good response! ;)

    SOTMOFK,

I want to add that maybe Rman likes to talk about KM and I can not think of a better place than BRW to talk about all things royal. :)

Kate is certainly a hot royal topic these days, there is a great deal of discussion about Kate on many of the royal blogs. Look around.

although the relationship of KM with PW is the one that matters the most over here, we have to have in mind that this website is not only dedicated to KM but it is also dedicated to the other royals.
Talking about other royals make this site interesting. It does become kind of boring just talking about one person all the time so we need to give every royal a space. Different is good.

Apparently, there was a royal engagement on Valentine’s Day – William and Harry’s cousin, Lord Frederick Windsor has proposed to his longtime actress girlfriend according to the DAILY MAIL online site.
Freddie, as he is known, was always close to Wills and Harry and he is the son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. He did however have a great deal of problems with cocaine for quite some time but appears to have beaten his addiction. He look a little bit like William.

Where to start? First, I have been reading some of the posts on different sites. I think that there is a general theme that nobody really knows what is going on with William and Kate.
MapleLeaf, you should patent your label of PW and KM’s relationship. You along with Ked have the same thoughts that they are in a state of “status quo”. Until something is known for sure that sounds good to me. As one of the people who hope that they are together, I have noticed that Kate has her supporters. There are also people who are the opposite. What makes sense to me is that both William and Kate have to do what is right for them. Rman, your steadfast support is amazing. It is interesting to me as someone from the other side of the pond that so many people have very strong feelings one way or another. I hope that they do share with the public in which direction that their relationship is going. Rumors tend to grow and take on a life of their own. Rumors tend to hurt the subjects of said rumors. On the subject of PH, I hope he gets back with Chelsy. Again there are those people who will say they are working to get back together or they are both dating others. I wish for both of them happiness. Patience is not a virtue that I possess. So I hope that at least we get a glimpse of their everyone’s true intentions. As one who has heard about the WM, the holidays, Kate’s birthday I have my own thoughts about it . However, something that will back up my feelings would be nice. Does anyone know if Kate’s parents went to Birkhall?

Dome the owner of the blog site is from the Canary Islands, Spain. I don’t think any of the Lucky 7 ladies have an IP address from that island (Islas Canarias). You can read it from his/her blog, although sounds like a male.

Kat I don’t think anyone knows if Kate’s parents went to Birkhall. All we saw was William & Kate arriving back from Scotland. I think it was nice that he spent a great deal of time went her and also let us know that she is a very important person in his life. Even though I live way across the pond, there is something about this couple I just like. It’s unlike many royal couples from the past. Except from Elizabeth & Philip, Edward & Sophie and Elizabeth & Albert, all others royal relationships seemed to be rushed and setup. I think it’s so important in Royal Institutions to take your time with your relationships and have something solid to fall back on. Personally I find it amazing what William & Kate are doing. I don’t believe they will wait long Kat.

Ouch! That blog is harsh. I’ve only read a few paragraphs but won’t read any more, I think it’s quite insulting.

Thank god we don’t have that over here. :)

BTW: I was thinking last night (don’t worry I’ll try not to strain myself :P )and I was wondering what sort of changes that William might bring when his King. Do you think there will be any? Do you think his attitude towards royal duties will be different compared to others i.e. more personal like his mother’s? Or do you think the public’s opinion to the RF will have changed a lot?

  • Grandma828

B, remember that it could be 40 years before William gets to be king, if Charles lives as long as the Queen Mother did. William himself still doesn’t know what his concept of ‘king’ is. We shall have to wait and see.

  • Rman
    February 17th, 2009 19:44

I believe William will carve out a royal for himself and focus on a small group of charities and organizations to support. Charles did it, Diana also did it. This is one of the reasons why they put this team of professional advisors together at St. James’s Palace. Now that William & Harry have their own Household, they can have better control over their royal roles. So it make you think twice when some people say William & Harry are trying to get out of their royal duties. Your royal duties is what you make of it. It’s not mainly focused on cutting ribbons, plaque unveiling and making speeches. When people describe it like that, they somehow think that’s all there is to royal life and that’s not true. I believe William and his future wife will redefine the art of royal duties. It’s only in a matter of time when this all start to happen.

    Grandma,
Waiting more than half a lifetime to be King complicates things for William. It must be hard to hard to find your way with in life given those conditions.

I agree, I do not think William has really thought about what kind of king he is going to be. He wants to focus on his near future, which means his military career and love/family life. That is already enough on his plate.
His father is focussing on environmental and architectural issues and the economy (start up businesses with the PRinces Trust), these are fantastic causes so far.
I am not sure if it would be wise to be more “personal” as Diana was – frankly. Diana was lovely, of course, but she was a bit fragile and that is not a good thing for a king/queen. The queen herself pulls herself together and look what a respected and accomplished monarch she is.

    PH

I do not think William has to wait until he becomes king to to make a lasting impression.
His father has over the years developped great projects – he is doing what he can while he is the PoW.
Anyway, is still think PW is focussing on the near future and that is absolutely okay.

I am aware the royals are going about their regular routines, but unfortunately the press don’t seem to be giving it the same kind of coverage they give to W & H.

Well Hale the media likes to focus on the young. The samething happened to the older royals when they were young. Time will pass, William & Harry will get older and the attention will turn to their children. What I’m waiting on is to see a young royal couple out supporting the Monarchy. It seem like a hundred years has past since Charles & Diana worked the stage now the media and public wants to see that magic again.

Rman..Chris 234 totally agree with you both.

As for Zara Phillips, yes indeed, people forget she is not on the civil list, and furthermore, she won her European title fair and square. but again the media does not focus on that.

I know the lack of news is frustrating for us royal watchers, but when you do consider what is covered and what is not covered, is it anyone the ‘backroom boys’ at the palace are endeavouring to plug any hole they find.

Joanne has a news artical up on the letters that Diana wrote to members of the government will be kept private. In a way I understand that but the comment someone made of the bottom really made a good point. Her idea’s won’t be known to us. We hear so much about the letters Charles very often writes to members of the government and he also hold meetings with them at Clarence House but they want to keep Diana’s letters out of the publics view. Hale:There is a wonderful British sitcom “Yes Minster” which deals with those sort of issues in government. There is a 30 year rule in the UK rather than a 50 year rule. But one episode is about how the Minster gave permission for documents to be seen (after the 30 year rule of course), he promised that all would be there. However, these documents would have embarrassed a collegue (he didnt know this), so they devised a plan where they would leave a note saying that all documents were there except a few for security reasons, some which would embarrass important people, others which were lost in the floods of 1960 etc.

The programme was based on real life events in government and they had a member of the civil service/ government leaking to them to show what sort of things went on.

It was quite funny really, so yes I do think the government has a way of supressing.

Just a lil bit of useless information for you. :)
