Prince Harry fails Pilot Exam

Shamed Prince Harry has failed one of his first pilot exams just a few weeks into his two-year course.
But there is no fear of him now having to fly by the seat of his pants—because Army Air Corps chiefs are giving him extra lessons to ensure he passes a retake.
The 24-year-old Royal, who we recently exposed for calling a fellow soldier a “Paki” during a training exercise, flunked the theory-based test at an RAF base in Lincolnshire.
Last night a Royal source told News of the World: “Harry didn’t reach the grade but he will have plenty of other opportunities to pass it. He will now be given extra tuition. It wasn’t a case of Harry failing and being booted off the course. It’s part of an on-going assessment.”

Whilst I’ve every admiration of Harry doing his best in finding other ways to return to Afghanistan, I do feel that piloting would not be his forte.
However, on the things I have read about H, I do believe he should re-think his career in the armed forces and try his hand at joining the Royal Engineers.
I say this because, he comes across as a person who enjoys physical work, and in this country we have a shortage of engineers. In the armed forces they’re fast becoming like ‘gold dust’, this is due to pay and conditons.
As a result, the armed forces are doing their best to ‘plug this hole’ and revising their courses which enable those of limited qualifications to join the regiment.
The Royal Engineers are a valuable support group and essential branch of the armed forces.
Pay would not be of importance to H as for him the armed forces are a chosen career.
I also have no doubt if he chose this course, he would serve in Afghanistan.

It’s being reported in the Telegraph that Harry’s charity Sentebale is still not going well and a emergency meeting will be held on Thursday to consider a direct appeal to Prince Harry to intervene. I guess the new team will help him out on this because I think Harry has got too much on his plate right now.

Rman…Thank you again for providing that link.
I know he’s made some really bad gaffes this year, but I do remember reading an article after the first year Sentebale was set up, in which the charity commission said it does take a while for a charity to establish itself and the first year monies usually go to admin costs.
If there was anything untoward happening then the CC does have the right to investigate.
Clearly this is turning into Harry’s ‘Anus Horriblus’.
I’m not sure if I spelt the above phrase right, but hopefully you guy’s all know what I mean.

If he doesn’t have the natural aptitude required for being a pilot, Harry is far better off not trying it. It would be a frustrating experience and he’d likely get himself killed.
I’ve always felt people should follow their talent and do whatever they are good at. You’ll do better and find it more enjoyable in the end.
There are plenty of other careers that are equally if not more fulfilling and hopefully he’ll find the right one for him.

Of course people should not begin a career which there is no chance of success. However, he has done very well in the army and just because he was unable to pass the first time it does not mean he will not for the second. We do not know why he failed after all. But we have heard of excellent reports which say he is a good team player as well as a leader and is committed. He is not academically gifted (as can be seen by his A level results) so that maybe why he failed the test, but I have faith that he will keep on trying and succeed.
Sometimes the most enjoyable careers are those where people have to work very hard and where things do not come easily, but determination and hard work means that they achieve. If a person is able to do everything very easily within their job, they may become bored, a challenge is a good thing and often shapes a person. So if this challenges Harry then that’s good because he will learn from it and his character may develop as a result. It is good for people to fail at time, it helps them control their pride and prevents them from being arrogant. Natural aptitude can only get a person so far. After that it is down to hard work and motivation.

This is from Oct.2007- old story made to sound new

Hmmm…I’m not sure gracie. Whilst it makes a reference to the comment that she was “on her knees”, I just doubt that this person has turned a old article to sound new. She has visited the nightclubs more than once after all. I just think this blogger saw her (not sure whether when) and exagerrated a little.

The blogger says at least twice that he is repeating what he heard, not what he saw.

I do agree with B’s point about having to work very, very hard at somthing sometimes not necessarily being a bad thing for a career.
I believe that Harry will find his way and his place in the military.

i think if he fails, he may try again in the next test.

I think it’s good that he is still allowed to fly. Some people cannot handle theory but are very capable of doing the practical. Seeing as we don’t know why he failed, I don’t think the press can really complain. They wouldn’t let him if it was not safe.

In light of the rash of recent helicopter crashes, I think everyone should write to the Queen and suggest that she re-think allowing the Prince’s to fly. You can get the address from the royal site. Yes, my family has been affected by a crash.
