Top Gun Prince Harry is a real Maverick

I feel the need, the need for speedPrince Harry’s flying instructors liken him to Top Gun’s Maverick.

Just like the trainee fighter ace played by Tom Cruise in the 1986 film, they reckon the Royal, 24, is an “instinctive pilot”.

Sources say it was Harry’s natural flair for flying that saw him scrape through a four-week selection course.

Harry, recently split from girlfriend Chelsy Davy, had trouble remembering checks and procedures and was rated “average” overall.

Last night a source at the Army flying unit’s HQ in Middle Wallop, Hants, said: “Ultimately Harry’s flair could carry him through too.”

    BRW,

I sincerely hope not and I’m sure the question is not rhetorical!

Do you recall what happened to Goose?

You see the film has been studied at Uni.

    Quote
Firstly, the basis of the film is that Maverick (Tom Cruise) is struggling to understand his sexuality. Maverick is right on the homo/hetero line and doesn’t know which way to turn. This is where the supporting characters enter, their function in their film being to battle for the sexuality of Maverick (see Characters below)

The leader of TopGun Academy is Iceman…continues, long analysis.

Back to Royal issues, shall we.

Let’s just hope Harry’s ego won’t write checks his body can’t cash! ;)

Seriously, since when does “flair” help keep someone airborne or prevent them from remodeling other people’s houses? I would hope the underlings in the military aren’t feeling the need to make Harry look good and that he is truly making the grade.

Thinking of JFK, Jr., who I seem to recall was not considered a very good pilot prior to his crash — and certainly not after!

    Hi ked,

Actually, yes I had forgotten what happened to Goose.

He lost that loving feeling, right? ;-)

No, I just meant William would be his flying buddy…
