Louise Lynn – Kate Middleton look-a-like
A friend of mine secretly sent my photo to a lookalike agency, so I was rather surprised one day to receive a phone call asking if I’d make a ‘royal’ appearance outside Buckingham Palace. I had to stand around, smiling and waving at the tourists who walked past.
Since Prince William has proven to be very serious about his girlfriend, Kate Middleton’s public profile has exploded. Because of this, I’ve had an amazing number of requests. One day I’ll have to spend hours walking up and down a street, re-enacting Kate being “papped” by the press, and the next I’ll be meeting-and-greeting guests at a champagne reception for a corporate event.
Luckily, Kate’s the perfect girl to emulate: she’s stylish and smart. Although we have very similar features, I know I’m not the spitting image of her. She’s slightly slimmer than I am, so there have been tricky moments failing to squeeze into a size-eight dress before jobs.
Getting the look right requires some research, so at events I’ll usually have a professional stylist on hand to recreate her look, and spend time flicking through the most recent pictures of her in order to check she hasn’t changed her hair or make-up style. Actually, she is very consistent: she always has the same black kohl eyeliner, shimmery eye shadow and blushed cheeks. The way she dresses is quite predictable too, so I don’t have to spend lots of money on keeping up with what she’s doing week-to-week. (via the Independent)

So, why would someone pay to have a Kate “look alike” at a corporate event when 1) they would KNOW it is not the real Kate and 2) she is not even officially a member of the Royal Family yet?

How I wish we could have a wedding this year.
I find it rather pathetic that anyone would try to be Kate Middleton’s look-a-like especially as Kate is neither a celebrity or someone who has made a great impact in society. Just the fact that she is PW’s lovely and loyal girlfriend.

This woman has a cupid’s bow on her top lip (Kate has no top lip) and this woman’s eyebrows are much higher than Kate’s. Which basically leaves us with the hair, eyeliner and Aunt Maud’s suit. Big whoop.
Although I’m sure if drunk enough from the back, in a darkened room, PW wouldn’t notice or mind too much.

I am very negative usually, but why would PW continue to take vacations w/KM and family if they were not together? Perhaps that is why Kay refered to the trip as “Party Pieces.”

The genre is named after the protagonist Karagiosis. He is a poor man with three hungry children and a wife who is constantly telling him to get a job. Which he is trying to do, especially in the play we had seen this Sunday. He was trying his luck shining shoes, selling ice, pistachios, and milk, working as a photographer. Whatever he tried, it did not work out. Sounds sad? It isn’t, because whatever his fortune is, he takes it with a laugh and a loose mouth. He is famous for his pointed remarks on everything. Classical quote: “We ate, we drank, and then we went to bed hungry!”
He has special protection officers. You don’t just show up at his ski lodge uninvited and get to stay if he doesn’t want you to. Now, William is a polite young man. But, seriously, if he and Kate were not an item, she AND her entire family would not have been on a ski trip with him.

Can you tell who is in the secon photograph? I’m assuming the first photograph is of kate. I can make William out in the second one but not sure if one of the girls with dark hair is pippa or who they are. They all kind of look alike?

It is sometimes hard to tell the two sisters apart,especially under these conditions.
I think they went to France this year because of the bad weather conditions last year and they figured they could throw off the paps.
The one on the right looks like PM. KM is on the far left. There is another woman with her back to the camera, and two other men, one lounging in the snow.

It is hard to tell kate and pippa apart but I think Phoebe is right kate is on the left and pippa on the right. Kate and William look cute with their matching ski pants. I wish I could see who the other people are.
In some of the pictures on the RF site, one of the men looks like JM. He is wearing a dark jacket, which would put him second from left in the group photo above. That only leaves the other couple unidentified.
Nothing says “true love” like matching ski pants, and judging from those red hotpants, Alsgal can see William and Kate have indeed become a union of one.

I am just curious as to why these guys can’t smile for the camera, their vacay was posted in DM so everyone knows where they are at. Not saying its their fault and I don’t think KM would risk losing PW to leaking info to tabs. Not after the hell this past year must have been for her and family. Maybe Alsgal can explain to me as she is more experienced w/how to handle men, as to how many family vacay can a couple have before a ring should be given and announced to the public? It makes no sense! I know someone is going to say this who Midd ski getaway is just a PR stunt, but if I were over w/my man there is no way I could do these vacay together and have the family come too, as I think my brother would beat the crap out of my boyfriend!

I had been perusing the Mr Papparazzi site, but I didn’t find those pictures.
Using the zoom on my keyboard, I can make out Kate on the left, Pippa on the right, William standing with baseball cap. The there is a fair headed guy in the snow and a male and female with their backs to the camera. These three I cannot make out who they are.
How does anyone know that Kate’s parents were there if there are no pics of them?

Perhaps the trip had been planned way in advanced and instead of not going, the Midds went anyway? Still no reason for PW to be going down the slopes w/KM. They could have come as I have said and kept away from each other, not hang out in a group.
Was if Ked that said that they should get married or break up as these trips don’t help KM reputation much. PW should know by now if he wants this woman, especially if he takes her family on vacay. He would help his reputation tremendously if he just get engaged. Why do they look so gloomy, were in a recession and they are in Three Valleys frowning. If they are going to spend the money, then they should atleast look like they are having a good time. Or is looking angry help w/the bad PR they are getting for going? Like they were made to do it !!!

Gracie, William has never liked to be pictured on his private time. Even when he was a child and was on vacation with his mother, William use to wear baseball caps and put his hand over his face so the paps would not get a picture of his face. He has always been like that, it’s nothing new and I don’t think Kate likes to be pictured on vacation either. I have no doubt that they had a good time. He spends so much time with Kate and her family and I think that is great.
As for their media reputation, they don’t seem to pay much attention to it. A lot of what the tabs write is not true and that is so important to remember. These two is just going on and living their lives. I’m not worrying about that engagement because it will come, William will not bow down to media pressure but I get the feeling that he will deal with that soon.
I think the plan is to not give the paps any ‘good” shots,which is why William hides his face. I find that a bit silly,personally,but then again it is not my privacy that is being invaded. I honestly don’t find any reason why they have to curtail their annual trip because of the economy. If the economy flourishes,does that mean they should take more lavish trips? I read comments on other sites and it amazes me. I can’t help but think that it is more about the disapproval of Kate Middleton then whether they should be taking a skiing trip.

Lisa I have read them too and the are mad that William went on this trip. The guy deserves a break with his girlfriend and that’s what he did. He was back on time to due his duty at the game. So many people on those sites was hoping that he and Kate did not go on this trip. They are just have to accept that William & Kate are together and that’s just how it is.

William & Kate will be fine, they do what’s best for them because it’s their relationship. They are simply marinating their love so it come out so much better in the end.
I remember when William was younger and the press was talking about his future and who would be his bride. I think it was Judy Wade and Ingrid Seward that said William would approach marriage in a different way because he saw first hand of what happend to his parents marriage. They knew what they was talking about because William is doing just that. I think The Queen, Phillp, Charles and all other senior royals are glad that William & Kate are taking he Edward & Sophie approach to this because they are the ones that will incharge of the Monarchy’s future.
It’s great to see pics finally, but I was really hoping they would have pics with PW and KM wearing helmets, especially after what happened with Natasha Richardson. And I know that when I have a ski helmet on, I look like anyone else wearing one. Might be a good way to safely hide from the paps

I just got back from a ski trip last week & Natasha Richardson’s accident happened while I was skiing. It’s always a mixed bag when it comes to those who where helmets and those who do not. I think really that it needs to become law that all who ski or snow board wear helmets. Most of the time it is not just helmets which save lives (although that plays a huge part) but the speed that individuals ski and snowboard at also is another factor. Even the most experienced skier or snowboarder can get into trouble. I guess for now KM and PW are just following their own path…
I love my ski helmet since it’s nice and warm and my goggles don’t squish my head. Since PW is so into his privacy I am surprised he doesn’t wear a ski helmet for that reason alone. I’ve been with my husband for 12 years (8 dating and 4 married so I get how KM could be a bit frustrated. . . and that’s another post altogether) but I can’t tell him apart from other guys on the slopes with a helmet. Which has been embarrassing on occasions.
I guess I was trying to say that for a rather modest amount PW and KM could have made a public safety announcement (helmets with skiing) by being photographed and had the potential to be rather invisible to paps as well.

I know someone who knows someone who works at the French alps that William and Kate went to with her family.
The person who worked there told my friend that the Middleton’s were rather a lovely family, and William was rather happy while being with the family.
By all accounts they had a fantastic time and my friend noted that the person that worked there that they knew told them. At one point they thought Kate was wearing a lovely diamond ring on her index finger.
There was also the hilarious scene where James got a little bit tipsy that he put on one of his sisters dresses, and went skiing down the alps. To the great amusement of the family, and William.

I’ll tell you what, I think my fairytale is even better than yours: Because I know someone who knows someone who works at the Niagara Falls, and I think maybe they know the someone that works at the French alps that your someone knows, because MY someone told me that there was a baby skiing with Wills and Kate.
The someone that knows the someone at the French alps told me that the someone told them the baby looked to be about 2 months old, but it was already walking and talking. They said the baby was speaking to people in badly broken french without any verb conjugation at all (bad baby!) and telling people that it’s parents were going to be married as soon as it’s father completed his RAF pilot training and it’s mother finished putting together a catalogue at Party Pieces. The baby also said that it was very close with it’s half-sibling, Jecca Junior.
(I think it’s possible the baby had been living with the same little green aliens as Jecca Junior.)
I was also told that a good time was had by all, and that there was a hilarious scene when James Middleton and the baby skiied down the slopes on piste wearing dresses made by the little green aliens.
Apparently they went swishing right through the coloured flags, with their dresses streaming behind them in the wind.
I’m laughing outrageously just thinking about how much fun they must’ve had.
It was also rumoured that as she skied down the slope Kate also said up yours to Katie Nichols and showed her the index finger with the big sparkling diamond ring on it.

Wow the Swedish wedding is this June. I thought it was in 2010. Interesting to see their timeline,though. They announced 2/24 and will marry 6/19. Should be a beautiful event. I wonder which of the British royals will attend? Charles and Camilla would be my guess.

Let’s see we have had several “staff” who witnessed Kate and William at parties and on ski trips and have been kind enough to share first person accounts on BRW.
Lots of unclaimed babies fathered by PW. One was kind enough to share her quest for child support payments with us this past weekend.
Jecca is believed to have a baby fathered by PW. I wonder if the baby will be in the wedding!
Kate has seen wearing diamond engagement rings, but never photographed wearing one.

See Rman’s post at #6. I know the HT article doesn’t specifiy a year, but they also note that the wedding will coincide with the 200th ann. of the rule of the House of Bernadotte, which took the throne in 1810. Ergo, wedding June 19, 2010. That has been the official date all along.
I guess it wouldn’t necessarily rule it out Lisa but if an announcement was going to be made in March as per Point de Vue time is running out…. I do wonder if it is this year or next year that princess victoria is getting married. There does seem to be a little confusion….

I used to ski in courchevel (or megève), it’s just 2 hours from geneva airport and the only way to go back to london (the only international airport in the area. So even if they were in courchevel they were pretty obliged to go to geneva to take a plane to london. I used to go too to Megève and the only way to come back to Paris (if you choose the plane) was too to go to geneva.

Thanks for clearing up the airport info. Rman,you are correct, she won’t wear that ring in public until the announcement,which is why for awhile I thought the reason she was not appearing in public was because she had the ring. It is very hard to know what is up with these two. At times I think they are going to announce at any minute and at other times I feel like Kate is turning into Camilla 2.0.
Usually when they get pics of RF skiing etc., they have a waiting period as to when they can release them. Another blog, as I mentioned said, that they actually went in Feburary. I think they actually went earlier and the press are just now allowed to release photos in UK, hence recent pic of KM w/shorter hair and darker. Just a guess from looking at other photos on Wenn, some say not released until —-in certain countries. Security does this stuff for a reason as they want everyone to know it happens afterward for protection of RF. Other than live ceremonies, etc. Vacay are usually never on the day they say they are and I have found usually run about a week behind when they announce them.
Hmmm… after 7 years… I doubt if Kate would take a ring off.
The helmet thing is a very good point – if they were really afraid of paps – why don’t they all wear helmets? Would be so easy. Also, it would facilitate the life of his bodyguards.

William did look pretty brown at the Rugby match & I think some of the pictures had a date that they were taken on so even if they were embargoed until x date it shouldn’t have changed the date which the photoagency/indivdiual recorded on them?? Who knows this couple is very sneaky but couple they are.

Lisa, lol I agree but I don’t think she is turning into Camilla. They have been together for a long time and I’m sure they have all of this planned out. By the looks of it, Kate will walk down the isle as his bride and I think it will happen sooner than we think. We just have to remain patient.
