Forbes: The Hottest Young Royals of 2009
Forbes has released its list of the Hottest Young Royals for 2009…
Prince William is easily the most famous sovereign. Thanks to a mother whose celebrity transcended the ranks of royalty, he has retained international curiosity. Compared to the wealth, intrigue and drama that surround today’s celebrities, the lives of monarchs can seem stodgy, but continuous family drama has managed to keep the world interested in Queen Elizabeth and her flock.
- Prince William (U.K.)
- Prince Harry (U.K.)
- Zara Phillips (U.K.)
- Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum (Dubai)
- Princess Beatrice (U.K.)
- Princess Sirivannavari (Thailand)
- Princess Eugenie (U.K.)
- Andrea Casiraghi (Monaco)
- Charlotte Casiraghi (Monaco)
- Prince Azim (Brunei)

That Casiraghi bunch has some gorgeous genetics! I guess we can thank Grace Kelly for that one. Andrea and Pierre have definitley one-uped William and Harry in looks.

Princess Beatrice in 5th place…? I don\’t want to be mean but Andrea and Charlotte are way more beautiful than her

The Casiraghi kids are so good looking, it already hurts ! They are certainly better looking than the English princes (no offence to you, your Highnesses).

Well, the criteria was “hot” not good-looking. No idea what goes into their definition of “hot”, but it is clearly skewed towards the British royals. Don’t agree with their assessment at all, and I’d say everywhere else except in the British press, the Grimaldi/Casiraghi family tops the list. Charlotte is really beautiful. Wasted on Alex Delal.

And what about Prince Carl Philipp – who resembles Orlando Bloom – and the very pretty Princess Madeleine? Of course the Swedish princes are better looking and “hotter” (whatever that means) than the whole British bunch (again, no offence, Wills and Harry are certainly good looking, but clearly not the best looking princes in Europe. And Eugenie and Beatrice might be nice young women, but do not even belong in this Top Ten list). These Forbes people must be blind.

Good point, Chris234! Why weren’t Carl-Philipp and Madeleine included? Forbes needs to re-examine their list. Bea and Eugenie (I hate to say it, but) could be booted for them if the list was actually talking about “hotness” in the conventional sense.

The problem with a list which rates looks is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Carl Philip (and Orlando Bloom for that matter) both look “girlie” while the 3 Casiraghis look rather “ghoulie” IMO. No list based upon looks could hope to satisfy everyone.
However, this list measures “hotness” (as in a hot topic) and the main quantifier was media coverage, followed by family wealth, etc.
And there is no doubt that the young British royals outrank all others using such criteria.
April 10th, 2009 22:03
No they don’t. Maybe they are “hot” in Britain based on the criteria of media coverage and family wealth, but the Brits don’t even register in a lot of markets, e.g., the US, and aren’t on top in a lot of non-British markets.

of course the casiraghis would win, if the list were about beaty – but it isn´t! you would know, if you´d actually read the first sentence of the slideshow which explains the ranking.
i copied it for you:
“The list ranks royals according to power, measured by international Web and media presence and family wealth. We only considered unmarried royals between 18 and 35 years old.”
