I understand Dickie’s point of view but I also understand that the public wants to see more of them. The young is in and the old is out.

Dickie is right though, William & Harry don’t like the media’s pressure and they won’t bow down to it. Their mother’s passing affected them in so many ways and Charles did a great job raising them but there’s nothing like that motherly push and that’s what’s missing from their lives, I think. Maybe if they had their mother’s helping hand, William & Kate’s situation would more clear and maybe we would see them doing more royal duties and there would be no “royal reluctant” stories. I think now they are just trying to find their way in this high pressured world.

Guys Dont you think that more and more evidence or information on the leading members of the young royals is being directed at their selfish side and less at their caring side. With the ever increasing pressure in the Commonwealth for a more rebublican regime and this type of publicity showing more and more the live for today attitude of the younger royals will these republican attitudes spread eventually into the British Isles, starting in Ireland,Scotland Wales and eventually even to the English counties. William is not as well thought of in Wales as his father was at 27 and his recent poor reception at rugby games in Wales demonstrated this attitude and the obvious latitude given by the RAF to his wanderings over his colleagues will not be unnoticed by a younger people themselves suffering various effects of the financilal possitions which will obvously not affect them in their privileged lifestyle. Is it not time for these young princelings to step up to the mark and give leadership to a young population who otherwise may themselves decide enough is enough in a few yeats time.

    Hello

Day off on Easter Day. Skiing good but no signs of pap inspired guests so all quiet pleasand and boozy.

With PW and KM apparently playing happy families these days it seems odd that an announcement is delayed and seems as far away as ever.

Four more sking days to go so bye now but will kep informed if any strangers arrive.

Penny, FYI, Ireland is an independent country and is not part of the UK, or even the Commonwealth.

Phoebe Apologies but I always thought that all 224 acres of the Stormont Estate was in Ireland Alfie Byrne always told my Great Grandfather that he lived in Eire but he never liked de Valera and he didnt recognise the Six Counties.
Again my apologies I should have used the prefix Northern.
I do speak in jest however, forgive me.

The one thing that I think we all have to accept that once Diana died, the future changed and William & Harry’s view on the world changed. They lost their backbone in 97 and now they are, I think struggling with the traditions into which they were born. I know we often get into some debates on how Kate fit in on all of this but I get the feeling that he talks to her and she understand her boyfriend’s situation. She’s not lost like many people think or what the press like to think.

I feel that William & Harry will do great things with the Monarchy and will be it’s leaders in this ever changing world.

Rman If I have read correctly one of PW/KM big disagreements happened because PW discussed his mother’s death and its affect on him with Jessica Craig and an American friend whose name I forget (she is a reporter who PW got attached to years ago and is about 15 years older than he wa) so perhaps he doesn’t talk to KM about her.We just dont know.

Penny I just think he do. Kate is the main woman in his life. He has his grandmother & godmothers but Kate knows him more intimately. If William didn’t share his inner thoughts and feelings with her, I don’t think this relationship would have lasted this long. If he did have that problem with sharing his feeling with Jecca and the american girl and not Kate, I think he corrected that problem now. Kate is not lost and I think she is helping him through those painful feelings. Now he’s a bit more open to talk about it in public and I think it was good that he lets us all know that his mother’s passing affected him deeply.

I agree w/Dickie. I think the princes have every right to do what they want right now. Its not like they just sit around and go clubbing every night. They have many many years ahead of them to do the Royla Duties. They are young now and should experience real life – as much as they can. As for the paps… I think they angered PW when they started their Kate Bashing and now he is not going to do them any favors.

Kd it does seem like he put a stop to all the Kate bashing. But now they are making up all kinds of crazy stories. I have to say that I miss seeing her though, sometimes I wish she would show up somewhere. Watching the royals is not the same without Kate, in my opinion.

Kd, we may see Kate out and about alittle later on. The Polo season starts up next month and we will see more of her. Right now everyone seem to be busy and keeping a low profile. I just miss seeing her.
