24/7 Protection to be reviewed for ‘junior’ Royals

Seems Princess Eugenie’s gap-year hi-jinx have prompted a review of around-the-clock protection for junior members of the royal family. The Sun reports…
Experts believe the bill for ensuring the security of the entire family may have topped the £50million mark. The review will look at where the money is spent and whether some younger family members actually need the current level of protection.
A senior Royal source said: “Few people would begrudge working members of the Royal family adequate security arrangements. However, their is growing unease at the sheer costs involved in offering round-the-clock protection to non-working members of the family.
“The only thing the public see is bodyguards being used as glorified taxi drivers to ferry young members of the family to and from nightclubs.
