The Queen’s granddaughter and the rugby star have bought a regency-style town house in Cheltenham, prompting speculation they will soon announce their engagement.
Friends say the couple opted for the leafy spa town to be closer to the nightlife and Zara’s favourite shopping streets, having outgrown their two-bedroom cottage on Princess Anne’s Gatcombe estate.
An insider said: “They wanted more independence. They have enjoyed living at Gatcombe for the past four years but it can get quite suffocating with Zara’s mum, dad and stepmother all living on the estate. Zara has always loved Cheltenham and they think the property will be a good investment.”
