You know, that is some article, if you think about it. When has CH ever commented on anything? Perhaps that’s why none of the tabs who are reporting the story as true have said “Clarence House says it does not comment on the private lives of the princes”. Because they either didn’t check, or they were told flat out that the story was untrue.

I had a funny feeling about Jobson’s artical. CH never said anything about William being too busy next year for a wedding. The press just ran with the NOTW artical.

Interesting… Who knows what to believe any more….
dagsi#5 - August 19, 2009 at 10:42 pm
Interesting, indeed, that Clarence House would even comment to CBC (canadian news network). I was kind of hoping it’s true, as I liked the idea Jobson presented. After the Olympics is just far too long a wait. O well, who knows… maybe Uncle Gary’s right.

Let me just share that The Daily Mail’s printed version today published 2 letters from readers addressing Janet Street-Porter’s recent nasty column about Kate. It’s entitled “Kate’s No Layabout So Leave Her Alone.” One reader is also an online business owner and wrote about how much work it can be. The other praised Kate’s discretion and called her a survivor. I think both make strong points. Overall I’m pleased, even if a bit surprised, that The DM printed these at all.

Maybe I am not looking in the right place but where would a comment from CH be found. I saw the article and looked for any kind of comment on their website but could find nothing. Would the comment have been verbal or am I not looking in the right place.
Thanks for your help.

The article said that CH told the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Co.) that the story was untrue. However, no details are given as to the circumstances under which the comment was made. Take with a grain of salt, I guess, as always, but somehow I trust the Canadian media more.

The Jobson article succeeded on two levels.
1. It was a good diversionary tactic.
2. It sold newspapers.
Katharine#10 - August 20, 2009 at 11:02 am
Doesn’t CH/BP normally respond with a “we do not comment on the private lives….” rather than this response?? Just an observation.

Hale,
You stated that it was a diversionary tactic, What did it divert our attention from? I am confused.
Me#12 - August 20, 2009 at 1:34 pm
Probably on more real worldly problems, since the Jobson news hit worldwide and major TV and Newspaper.
I feel sorry for Edward and Sophie, as they received no training either. In fact the the Monarchy at Work series, Edward say’s you learn it as you go along.
Katharine#16 - August 20, 2009 at 6:19 pm
Hale, Edward was born a royal and Sophie had/has the advantage of a lengthy courtship and a husband who appears to be far more supportive than Charles or Andrew ever were. We also know that HM seems to be quite fond of Sophie. I don’t think they’ve gotten the short end of the stick.

Hi Folks,
It is true that you learn as you go along but I think Kate is just recieving some basic information on what she will have to do, and what will be expected of her. The real experience comes when she is officially a royal and supporting her husband. I do believe she will do the best she can and William is also there to help her out. I think they will make a great team in supporting the Monarchy.
This makes me think even less of Jobson’s theory of a two year wait because why would she need the lessons now, if the wedding is two years away? I’m remaining patient but my guess is that next year will be very surprising.
Here is an artical that mentions the 2011 plan but CH told the CBC that this tabloid rumor is false.

Hi Folks,
Just a quick word, I just came across Neil Sean’s artical on Kate’s royal training and William’s royal training.
