Hi Folks,

It is true that you learn as you go along but I think Kate is just recieving some basic information on what she will have to do, and what will be expected of her. The real experience comes when she is officially a royal and supporting her husband. I do believe she will do the best she can and William is also there to help her out. I think they will make a great team in supporting the Monarchy.

This makes me think even less of Jobson’s theory of a two year wait because why would she need the lessons now, if the wedding is two years away? I’m remaining patient but my guess is that next year will be very surprising.

Hale, Edward was born a royal and Sophie had/has the advantage of a lengthy courtship and a husband who appears to be far more supportive than Charles or Andrew ever were. We also know that HM seems to be quite fond of Sophie. I don’t think they’ve gotten the short end of the stick.

I feel sorry for Edward and Sophie, as they received no training either. In fact the the Monarchy at Work series, Edward say’s you learn it as you go along.

The Jobson article succeeded on two levels.

1. It was a good diversionary tactic.

2. It sold newspapers.
