William & Kate Documentary

Updated: The video was removed by YouTube but the entire documentary is available for viewing on the German broadcaster’s website here. Skip to the 18 minute mark for Kate on stage!

Fortune Teller: “Soon you will meet a handsome man, a rich gentleman…”

Kate: “It is all I have ever hoped for, will he fall in love with me?”

“Indeed he will,” the fortune teller replies. “And marry me?” asks Kate. “And marry you,” he confirms.

“Will he take me away from here?” she asks, ever more breathless. “Yes,” he tells her, “to London.”

Kate was actually only about 12 or 13 years old when she did that play, but I don’t think the person who uploaded the video onto Youtube knew that.

Kate was a student at St. Andrew’s School, Pangbourne, at the time. St. Andrews Pangbourne is a boarding prep school that only goes to age 13.

  • mapleleaf #2 - August 20, 2009 at 8:18 am

The English guy who spoke in the video, Kingsley Glover, is the same person that gave the interview to Hello magazine. He’s a former schoolmate of Kate’s from St. Andrews Pangbourne.

;) I think he’s looking for his 15 minutes of fame, and some cash for his pockets as well.

LOL Lisa, good they got what they deserved.

Mapleleaf, I’m actually glad Kingsley Glover spoke about Kate. It’s good to hear about her from people who knew her personally, than hearing the stories from the tabs. I wish more of her friends would say something about her.

    Hi bluefire,

I don’t know for sure but I believe that it was first broadcast on German TV in June or July this year.

    Die Königskinder: William und Kate

  • Rman #12 - August 21, 2009 at 4:12 pm

    Evening Folks,

I’m glad that I have the day off so I can look for some docs to watch. I just across the full German documentary on William and Kate. It was nice to look at but I wonder when will a documentary be released on the couple in english?

Here is the documentary, a 1-5 video:

    Enjoy!

  • Hale #13 - August 21, 2009 at 5:18 pm

I’ve just watched the Jaques Perretti documentary, What Happened Next.

It was revealed, but I guess it didn’t sink in when I first watched it, that William signed on for 7 years.

  • Hale #14 - August 21, 2009 at 5:21 pm
  • Katharine #15 - August 21, 2009 at 5:30 pm

Rman, thank you so much for posting the link to the German documentary. I enjoyed watching it!

Kate is just lovely — very poised, graceful and elegant. The most senior courtiers at BP couldn’t teach her that! Either you have it or you don’t — and Kate HAS it. :)

Did anyone notice that in the first of the five videos (at about 1:45) Judy Wade mentions Diana and then says with emphasis “DO IT” ?? I assume she means that Diana would support William’s choice, but I wish I could understand exactly what JW is saying.

  • Rman #16 - August 21, 2009 at 5:53 pm

Katherine, I did hear her say “DO IT”, Many of the royal experts believe that Kate is a good woman for him and they believe Diana would have approved the match. William went to college and found someone very special.

Hale, what do you mean that William signed on for 7 years? Signed on what?

  • Phoebe #17 - August 21, 2009 at 6:35 pm

Thought this was interesting. Don’t know when it was posted.

    http://tinyurl.com/m4sn42

  • mapleleaf #18 - August 21, 2009 at 6:40 pm

@Hale, in response to post #12:

Hale, I think that was a part of the whole problem with that “What happened Next” documentary, that Jaques Perretti got some things wrong.

For instance, William didn’t sign up for 7 years at all, William himself said this year that he would do 18 months of training, and 2 & 1/2 to 3 years as an Operational SARF pilot. That’s a total of 5 years.

Clarence House even explained that very thing in detail just last year, and the info is also on the Prince of Wales website. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out William will be involved with the RAF SARF program for 5 years, starting with January of this year.

So there’s no reason why Jaques Perretti wasn’t able to get it right, other than he wanted to say something different from the truth.

  • Katharine #19 - August 21, 2009 at 6:45 pm

Hi Rman… Thanks for the confirmation! Now if only we could meet William and express the same message/urgency. Lol!!

  • Phoebe #20 - August 21, 2009 at 6:48 pm

Didn’t Ked say seven years also?

  • mapleleaf #21 - August 21, 2009 at 6:53 pm

Ked might’ve said that, I honestly don’t remember. If he did say it, then he got it wrong as well. Prince William said 5 years, and I believe William knows what he’s talking about when it comes to his own schedule.

  • Rman #22 - August 21, 2009 at 7:35 pm

This is why Kate is getting ready to join the team officially, so she can help him out. Even though William is still in training, the couple will do some joint engagements together and some they will do on their own. Kate is a very strong and confident woman, she can handle a few engagements alone.

  • bluefire #23 - August 21, 2009 at 9:06 pm

thanks steve for clearing that rman i agree on you

  • kat #24 - August 21, 2009 at 9:31 pm

This should be an interesting week. Hopefully a few questions will be answered. It will be interesting to see if Kate goes to Balmoral. I hope that she does. I can’t even imagine how she must be feeling trying to plan out clothes, going through all of the clothes changes, thinking of protocol, and just being with future in laws. I am glad that it is her. She seems to be strong enough and together enough to handle it. Having William there with her will help to reassure her that she is doing everything right. I hope they have fun toegether. I am wishing Kate Good luck not that she needs it. Keeping fingers crossed for some official words. :-)

  • Rman #25 - August 22, 2009 at 12:18 am

Kat I’m with you on that.

Changing the subject a bit, I just came across this video of the late Princess of Wales being chased by the paps and it cause her to stop and cry. You can actually hear Diana crying. I just hate that they did that to her.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gn6AL6be-0

  • kat #26 - August 22, 2009 at 12:35 am

How very sad for her. They were really ruthless. Even after she got into her car, they sere still trying to take pictures.

  • maddie #27 - August 22, 2009 at 7:51 am

It seems they kept their engagement a secret even though it was only 3 weeks. Who knows about Will and Kate? they are a pretty sly pair! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqOJHBOez4Y&feature=related

  • maddie #28 - August 22, 2009 at 7:52 am
  • Katharine #29 - August 22, 2009 at 7:56 am

    Regarding the video of Diana…

IMO, if Kate lived and worked in London, this would be her reality on a daily basis. These ladies sell papers and the paps will do whatever it takes to get a picture. Just look at how quickly Kate’s photograph was plastered on magazine/newspaper covers right after Nicholas Van Cutsem’s wedding. Personally, I’m glad Kate works at PP.

  • Lisa #30 - August 22, 2009 at 8:18 am

Something interesting I just heard…it may mean nothing, or it may be something but I thought I would pass it on..

My daughters father in law lives in LA and works for a local TV station there. He was scheduled to cover Michael Jacksons’ funeral next week. Apparently the funeral has been postponed. Well last night they get an email saying he is off to London to cover another story instead. Needless to say,I nearly choked on my tea this morning when she called me to tell me this,LOL. Whatever he is covering has to be big because they rarely send him anywhere. My son in law is not close to his dad and the only reason they were informed of this trip is because my son in law’s Mom is ill.

It’s probably nothing but I figured I would pass it on.

  • jj #31 - August 22, 2009 at 10:26 am

OMG Rman that video is awful. I really can’t believe that things got that bad. I guess it was a good move for Kate to move to Buckleberry as that is just too much. I know Hale said she wasn’t hounded half as much as Diana was but I’m glad it wasn’t allowed to get to that stage. That’s just too much. Hopefully they are taking it seriously and that was the reason for the security guards as the Van Cusem wedding.

Lisa that is interesting… I guess though any number of people could be up to no go so who knows if it has anything to do with them. I guess we continue to wait…

  • Me #32 - August 22, 2009 at 10:42 am

Why did she relinquish the security guards ? I think the video is aweful, yes. But she looks weak, she lost it on running and crying on the wall.

Don’t me mistaken, I do love Diana, but definitly with this video, something in her mind, unbalanced.

  • Rman #33 - August 22, 2009 at 11:28 am

    Hi Folks,

I was shocked when I came across that video. I those days, Diana was going through a very tough time and she thought she could have her normal life back but that just wasn’t possible. Diana relinguished her security because she didn’t want the Palace to know all about her movements, it was a big mistake. She was the mother of the future King, she could never be Lady Diana Spencer again and at that time, it was hard for her to accept that.

I believe if Diana was alive today, she would have a security team with her at all times. I just wish her security team was with her on that night in Paris.

  • Guest #34 - August 22, 2009 at 12:41 pm

Drama drama drama. Come now. I can understand the sprint to her car, but just get in and get on with it. And I thought she was a wonderful person, so I’m not a Diana hater. But I have a very short threshold for drama and public histrionics.

  • Guest #35 - August 22, 2009 at 12:42 pm

I really really hope Kate handles this much better. So far, she has.

  • Guest #36 - August 22, 2009 at 1:03 pm

… and if the ‘be classy & ignore them’ tact doesn’t work, you can always go Prince Harry/Brittany Spears and take a swing at the snappers. :-) I would done that a long time ago if I were Diana. Which is why I’ll never be princess material. I’ll fight you in the streets. LOL

  • Rman #37 - August 22, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Guest I would agree with you, get in the car and just get on with it. But at that time, Diana’s emotions was in a bad state, the establishmet was on her back and the tabs was down her throat. It just wasn’t a good time for her so I think Diana was just emotionally tired at that point. Later in her life, Diana began to get stronger and just more focused, it just ended too soon.

  • Jj #38 - August 22, 2009 at 3:44 pm

I think it’s mentioned on the video that she us coming from the shrink.. That means she was not in a good state of mind & was having problems.. No one deserves that kind of treatment no matter who they are….

  • teviewonder #39 - August 22, 2009 at 4:00 pm

I believe he is taking time off to tour. Could it be 7 years total of tiime with time off included?

  • maddie #40 - August 22, 2009 at 4:33 pm
  • Rman #41 - August 22, 2009 at 4:59 pm

Of course leave it up to the media to make the story sound more interesting.

I think these two will take a break, perhaps to Balmoral.

  • Phoebe #42 - August 22, 2009 at 5:16 pm

Prior reports about the Cornwall vacation said KM was there. Or was that another Cornwall vacation?

  • Rman #43 - August 22, 2009 at 5:45 pm

I think that was first gathering in Cornwall Phoebe. I think what they are talking about now was just a get together with some friends.

  • kat #44 - August 22, 2009 at 5:48 pm
  • Phoebe #45 - August 22, 2009 at 6:04 pm

This woman is a joke. How many times has she recycled this story?

  • Rman #46 - August 22, 2009 at 6:27 pm

I don’t know Phoebe but I’m tired of hearing the same ol’ crap over and over again.

  • Katharine #47 - August 22, 2009 at 7:01 pm

The DM headline should read “KN has a MEOW moment.” Lol! I guess all the positive and hopeful wedding related commentary was just too much for her. ;) Unhappy people are incapable of being happy for anyone else. Oh well… The bottom line is that Kate remains at William’s side and they don’t look unhappy to me!

  • Rman #48 - August 22, 2009 at 7:01 pm

Of course these articals come out so some gossip can start. I just know the whole Cornwall party will get some gossip going. I often wonder do people think William can’t have any female friends?

  • jj #49 - August 22, 2009 at 7:02 pm

What in the world is this all about. We have heard numerous rumors about Kate moving to the states and I just don’t get what the press are hinting at???!?!?!?

  • Rman #50 - August 22, 2009 at 7:06 pm

LOL, that is probably true Katherine. Too much wedding talk for KN.

We know for a fact that William & Kate are happy but people will try to make more of the Cornwall party. This happens every year.

  • Rman #51 - August 22, 2009 at 7:08 pm

Slow news week JJ. I pray that this engagement comes soon because I get so fed up with the crazy stories and endless debates.

  • Phoebe #52 - August 22, 2009 at 7:12 pm

According to KN, an engagement announcement is scheduled for next Easter. She relies on “friends” of KM. I wonder if theses “journalists” ever consider that they are being used.

  • Rman #53 - August 22, 2009 at 7:18 pm

It seems like the Daily Express has been searching the forums. They just put the video of Kate in her school play.

  • Katharine #54 - August 22, 2009 at 7:19 pm

Kate’s friends have been loyal and discreet. IMO, KN is just setting Kate up for a fall if we don’t hear anything by Easter.

  • kat #55 - August 22, 2009 at 7:21 pm

and the UK Express weighs in on Kate.

  • maddie #57 - August 22, 2009 at 8:47 pm

I wish KN were believable. I think her getting a different (according to others a “real job”) would signal that all the rumors are true of a wedding next year or 2011. It might be the good PR she needs to earn the respect of the people before they marry.

  • dagsi #58 - August 22, 2009 at 9:16 pm

maddie, I don’t understand how a photography job would earn her respect, actually. Do others think the same way? Also, I don’t understand how establishing a photography career would fit into the picture of a 2010 wedding. Anyhow, this is KN. I have long believed she’s out of contacts and really has no stories to tell.

And besides, I’ve always considered Kate’s job at Party Pieces a “real job.” Having worked for my parents myself, I think being a business owner could actually exercise more of your mind, creativity, flexibility and people skills more than an ordinary job. I still think Kate ought to stay with PP for her sake.

  • maddie #59 - August 22, 2009 at 9:32 pm

i consider it a real job as well but unfortunately many other people don’t. I actually think it might help her image if she had another job but I think PP is best for her safety. It might show she is not sitting by waiting to announce their engagement. What i was trying to say is it couldn’t hurt her image.

  • Me #60 - August 22, 2009 at 9:39 pm

I think her PP job is a real job too, nevertheless it would be cool if she may travel-explore a bit, New York, then back to London. Take that opportunity if true, culture and meet a lot of people and try other perspectives with photography, if its true and what she wants to try.

  • maddie #61 - August 22, 2009 at 9:46 pm

Exactly, right now it seems she is completely wrapped up with william. he is going to be doing royal tours,She should involve herself in something that she was passionate about pre-william. I think she would come across as more independent and confident.

  • dagsi #62 - August 22, 2009 at 10:11 pm

Adam Helliker is reporting that there is NO truth that Kate has been personally invited by the Queen to stay at Balmoral Castle next weekend. The Queen has a moral rule upheld throughout her reign that no couple should share a room premaritally under her roof. So if Wills and Kate will indeed visit, they are to stay in his house in Birkhall, not Balmoral castle, as they have done in the past.

Makes sense, IMO. I remember Diana has stayed in Balmoral Castle as one of the guests of Prince Charles. But she was one of a group of friends, and stayed in a single room. According to the infamous Paul Burrell, the staff had no clue that they were even dating.

  • Rman #63 - August 22, 2009 at 11:09 pm

Well I just hope they go to Balmoral and give us some good news soon.

Well Maddie, many people do like Kate and like that William has her as his girlfriend. The problem is that the tabloids has tampered with Kate’s image too much and it caused people to turn on her. The tabs paints Kate in too many different lights. I think the only way things can get better, if the royal team would let Kate do some charity work and just let some members of the public get a chance to know her better. People want to know, who is the real Kate Middleton? but all they are getting is a bunch of tabloid rubbish. It’s been 7 or 8 years now and people are growing tired of the wait. That’s why I pray that next year things will become official.

  • maddie #64 - August 22, 2009 at 11:25 pm

I wish william would come out and make some sort of statement to get it out there so the people would know she IS his girlfriend. he can take as many photos with her as he likes, but until he actually confirms it verbally there will always be the negative stories and people in denial. Let everyone know you love her! This might stop some of the cruel comments about her.

  • Lisa #65 - August 22, 2009 at 11:52 pm

Why does Katie Nicholl insist on trying to hook Kate up with famous photographers? It is sooo tiresome. next it will be Ansel Adams back from the dead to tutor Kate…and I suppose Kate or someone close to her told KN of these so called plans..rubbish.

I am tiring of this whole thing more everyday, sadly.

As I said, I think it’s just KN’s way of stirring up trouble. It makes Kate look like she can’t make up her mind and isn’t sure what she wants to do with her life. :( I DO NOT agree. ;)

Let’s face it, as ‘an investigative reporter’, Perretti is wide of the mark. All his docos on the famous are as full of holes as a sieve.
As for Kate, she was cute in the play way back when. It has proven to be prophetic.

  • Katharine #76 - August 27, 2009 at 3:45 am

    ^ Yes, VERY prophetic…… ;)
