Lol. The Telegraph has Chelsy “heading further and further out of Prince Harry’s orbit” and the DM claims they’re “rekindling their romance in secret meetings.” I’m inclined to go with the Telegraph on this one. I think the DM’s story is as credible as the idea that it was Chelsy who broke it off because of her career.

Kate Middleton to be invited for Xmas Day lunch with Queen

    By Nick Owens 6/09/2009

  • Jj #4 - September 6, 2009 at 9:59 am

    Mathilde

it’s the sane story every year at this time. Unless Kate is engaged I very much doubt she will be invited to Christmas lunch. They are fine & hopefully will continue to be.

  • Rman #5 - September 6, 2009 at 11:30 am

    Hello All,

This story comes up ever year and I think we should all know that the Christmas lunch and dinner is for family. Kate usually joins William on the Sandringham estate for a pre-Christmas gathering but spends Christmas with her own family. This is how it’s going to be until she officially joins the royal family. Even if the Queen breaks this tradition and invite Kate to lunch and dinner with the family, we would probably never know about it because it’s a private family affair. But I think it’s safe to say that this tradition will stay put.

The royal couple often spend New Years together so they may go back to Birkhall or lodge this year.

  • Me #6 - September 6, 2009 at 2:01 pm

Yes it is the same story, but it might just hit the jack pot this year. Kate and her family spent last years Christmas holidays in the UK.

  • AJ #7 - September 6, 2009 at 2:04 pm

    About the Chelsy Davy story(s)

Since I don’t know much about either, which one is considered a more credible newspaper? The Daily Mail or the Telegraph?

    =) Thanks!

  • Britt #8 - September 6, 2009 at 2:56 pm

The Telegraph without a doubt. The Daily Mail is a glorified tabloid today despite it’s serious past. The Times and The Guardian should be held to the highest standards and validity, but they seldom report on the royals private lives. However as not to discard the tabloids entirely, Duncan Larcombe of whom writes for The Sun, is currently the ‘official’ royal reporter considering he’s been given the privilege of many world exclusive scoops over the past year.

  • Me #9 - September 6, 2009 at 6:03 pm

According to the above Freddy Windsor article, Princes William and Harry are invited, so we might see them with Kate and Chelsy.

Me,I would not hold my breath on William and Harry showing up at this wedding.

If Harry is indeed back together with Chelsy I hope she has agreed to get her friends with the cameras in check. She just needs to know that being with Harry has a price tag.

  • bluefire #12 - September 7, 2009 at 12:31 am

i think that the daily mail is a tabloid column they are making a crap pt the story to make the people to buy their papers

  • bluefire #13 - September 7, 2009 at 12:36 am

i think every start of ber months the papers are crapping about Kate Middleton to be invited for Xmas Day lunch with Queen in xmas day

Chelsy and Pr.Harry story is now in the Telegraph.

  • Katharine #17 - September 7, 2009 at 6:00 am

The Telegraph article on H&C quotes The Express and the Daily Mail.

Does anyone else think Chelsy’s friends could be floating some rumors in hopes of her getting another chance with PH?

  • Jbk #18 - September 7, 2009 at 2:15 pm

I do like Chelsy, very much too, she has a Law degree and does her career goals. This week the press reports she starts a job at a law firm, she is a very smart woman. I have a lawyer in my family, I remember how much work was done to get the degree, it was not easy for them.

I like Kate, but I never liked that Kate waits for a proposal instead of doing more with her life. Kate does not seem to do much with herself, besides vacation ,that I don’t like.

I hope William proposes soon. I don’t understand why if he loves her and has dated her so long, he will not propose. Maybe they discuss things on their own, I hope they do.
If William does not end up marrying Kate, it will be bad for her and embarrassing for him. I don’t like that he won’t propose , he should, she is nice, but her family is not liked much, the video of her Uncle put her in a bad light, no matter if it is not said. The video will always be used.
I would love to see Kate engaged soon, time is not good for her at this point, the press just gets worse and worse. She use to be written by the press so nice, now all the stories are not good, mostly against her. For that reason Pr. William should make her his bride soon, to show his love and protect.

  • rosettaresearch #19 - September 7, 2009 at 3:36 pm

JBK, Kate is working very hard at her family business. If she were not dating a Prince every would think working in the family business is great. But because she is dating a prince, they think she should be working at some high profile job. Kate works. She is just a private citizen who does not wish to be photographed at her job every day. Nor does she have friends who put pictures of her out there on Facebook and MySpace.

Chelsy does not seem to work very hard. Most pictures are of her partying. Her one internship we heard of was at the Queen’s solicitor’s while she was still dating Prince Harry. Hmm, wonder how she got that job?

Also, most of the press lately, with the exception of that one story digging up her Uncle’s indiscretions for goodness sake, have been very positive. Many, many stories about how the Palace is grooming her for her future role.

I look forward to Princess Catherine. I am eternally grateful we most likely won’t have a Princess Chelsy.

  • Katharine #20 - September 7, 2009 at 4:06 pm

rosettaresearch… You summed up my feelings perfectly. I agree with everything you wrote.

  • Vogue #21 - September 7, 2009 at 4:21 pm

Where does Chelsy work? I have nothing againts her . but I don’t think she has worked a day in her life apart from that two week internship that she got with her royal connections. She is not independent , she is a student and partying up a storm . Which is what most student do. Do not try to make her something she is not just to try and make KM looks bad when all it does is make Chelsy look worst.

  • Rman #22 - September 7, 2009 at 4:24 pm

    Evening All,

I actually like Chelsy but I found it funny that her party pictures was plastered all over the internet and no one complained but if Kate was seen going to a club or on a vacation, many crucified her for it. I just found that interesting.

  • Lisa #23 - September 7, 2009 at 4:27 pm

As I have said in the past,Chelsy’s friend and the constant posting of pictures, was,IMO, a contributing factor to the breakup. If they do get back together hopefully that nonsense will come to an end.

The work debate is, as they say, “so yesterday”. I don’t care who works, doesn’t work or how hard they work until the initials HRH precedes their name.

jbk…we have no idea if William has or has not proposed. Just because the media have not been informed does not mean the couple has not made plans. Many people, including myself believe wholeheartedly that they have. We will know when they are ready to tell us.

  • Lisa #24 - September 7, 2009 at 6:47 pm
  • AJ #25 - September 7, 2009 at 7:25 pm

    From Jbk;
Chelsy and Pr.Harry story is now in the Telegraph

=) Could someone put up a link to this article? I can’t seem to find it.

    Thanks!

  • atx #26 - September 7, 2009 at 7:44 pm

What? Why is everyone anti-Chelsy? She made Harry happy. Isn’t that what counts? If this story is true then congrats to them! I don’t think Chelsy should be hung out to dry because her friends can’t keep their mouths shut. It seems like Kate and Chelsy run in different crowds for the most part. Kate keeps to her select aristo circle. They’re totally different women.

Who here works at Party Pieces or Allen and Overy to confirm who works harder than who? I guess a few of you are hanging over Kate’s shoulder while she’s manning the operations at her job, right? Or else you wouldn’t be coming down so hard on Chelsy. How many of you have a law degree? There’s nothing wrong with spreading your wings and getting out from under your parents, even if you’re NOT dating a prince.

  • FYI #27 - September 7, 2009 at 7:44 pm

We won’t have a Princess Catherine or a Princess Chelsy. We’ll have a Princess William of Wales and a Princess Henry of Wales. Whoever they may be.

  • Phoebe #28 - September 7, 2009 at 7:46 pm

I don’t think Freddie or Sophie cares one whit if none of them show up.

  • Rman #29 - September 7, 2009 at 8:45 pm

atx, I’m not ani-Chelsy. I thought Harry & Chelsy was a good match. I know that’s the rumor going around on the other forums, that we are ani-Chelsy and it’s not true. I just gets under my skin that Chelsy can be pictured out with her friends and going to a club on a regular basis but if Kate was seen going out with her friends and to a club, it was hell to tell the captain. I just think people treat Kate bad for the hell of it.

As for Kate’s future title, it will probably be HRH The Princess William of Wales or HRH The Princess William, Duchess of _________. It’s been said that if they marry, the Queen will grant the couple a dukedom title.

As the up coming Windsor wedding, I get the feeling that the DM is getting rather dramatic about this wedding. If Princess Michael is handling the arrangements, I think things will turn out okay. We may see many of the young royals there. I just think the press is just getting too dramatic about it.

  • atx #30 - September 7, 2009 at 9:17 pm

Rman, as far as the pictures, I agree Kate does get the harshest of criticism out of the two of them. That was not directed towards your comment.

Just curious, why is it that the Kents can’t chip in a little for the wedding? Aren’t they still recieving money for being minor royals? I need to re-read that article.

  • Katharine #31 - September 8, 2009 at 3:56 am

I think the DM is being very hard on Princess Michael and every time I see the term “Princess Pushy”, it reminds me of a sentiment Diana expressed during the Panorama interview. She commented on strong women: “…I think it’s the strength that causes the confusion and the fear.”

  • bluefire #32 - September 8, 2009 at 7:49 am

i hope that kate and will will show up the wedding beside kate and will are close to thwm

  • bluefire #33 - September 8, 2009 at 7:50 am

    to them

  • Lisa #34 - September 8, 2009 at 8:41 am

I am almost afraid to ask this question but what did Princess Michael do to earn this coveted title “princess pushy”? I love her style. She looks lovely in pictures.

  • Phoebe #35 - September 8, 2009 at 8:43 am

    She has beautiful hair.

  • Me #36 - September 8, 2009 at 10:23 am

    Lisa @ 34, I agree with you.

The press give nicknames, in the case of Princess Michael of Kent, because she looks/has her very grand, high and mighty ways.

The press where “pushing” to give the name to Autumn Kelly, May 2008, when engaged to Peter Phillips.

Read AK Daily Mail story line, similar to what they like to do with the future wives of British royalty.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-565192/The-new-princess-pushy-Meet-Peter-Philips-ambitious-bride-be.html

I’d say everyone would agree with me that the British press is the worse worldwide ?!

  • Chris #37 - September 8, 2009 at 10:52 am

As far as I can remember, the press never liked Princess Michael, I do not know why.
Perhaps there was a scandal once and I am just not old enough to remember? :-)
Or – there has never been a scandal and this is why they do not like her? :-)

As for the rumour of PH and Chelsy – I liked them as a couple. They make/made each other happy and this is what it is all about. And she seemed to be fun and interesting. However, I do not believe they are back together, unless I see them together.
Oh, I must admit I am not sure if she would make a great princess. However, she is still young and I never expected them to marry, at least not anytime soon.

  • Chris #38 - September 8, 2009 at 10:56 am

    @ Me
    I totally agree.
And the Spanish press is just awful, too. Prince Felipe had to go through hell until he could marry his Letizia. He had to break up with several girlfriends, because the press made him do so.

  • Chris #39 - September 8, 2009 at 11:01 am

    @ atx
I think in the beginning, Kate’s press was stellar and the press hated Chelsy. Then – just to write something new and different – they started to like Chelsy and Kate was having the bad press.
Now Kate’s press is okay again.

Guys, lets not forget that the press needs to sell papers. They have to fill their columns with something.

  • Me #40 - September 8, 2009 at 11:27 am

    Chris @ 37

The main reason related to the Princess Michael of Kent is because she is a divorcee and German (her father was a Nazi). But then rumours and this kind of spicy press is what at the end people WILL believe.

    http://scandalouswoman.blogspot.com/2008/08/princess-pushy-fabulous-life-of.html

  • Rman #41 - September 8, 2009 at 12:34 pm

Chris I agree with your #39 post. I think the media is not the only ones that has created this love & hate attitude towards Kate & Chelsy but it was also created on the royal forums.

I noticed long ago that the main problem some members on the royal forums have with Kate is that she don’t take their ideals into consideration. Since she is living her own life and not the life they think a future Princess or Queen should have, they become frustrated, angry and even bitter towards Kate. Some of the tabloids do their job by adding fuel to the fire and express their own ideals. So it’s just a lot of frustration going around.

I also think this long, dragged out wait adds it’s own fuel to the fire. A big combination things is the cause of all this frustation.

  • Chris #42 - September 8, 2009 at 2:31 pm

    @ Me
Thanks for that summary. I had no idea. Well, the press should not blame her for the things her father did. That is not fair.
As for the other things she did or apparently did: this is enough gossip for years.

  • Me #43 - September 8, 2009 at 2:53 pm

I agree to both posts Rman and Chris  (enough gossip for yearS)

  • mapleleaf #44 - September 8, 2009 at 3:12 pm

I did a little research, and I found out why Princess Michael has the nickname “Princess Pushy”. Apparently the nickname Princess Pushy was given to her Princess Michael by Princess Anne.

And one time Viscount Linley, the son of Princess Margaret, said when asked what he would give his worst enemy, answered: “Dinner with Princess Michael.”

Prince Charles nicknamed Prince and Princess Michael “the Rent-a-Kents”; and HM the Queen once told Lord Mountbatten “She sounds a bit too grand for us.” She’s also been called a racist, and she’s been accused of a demanding, pushy woman who thinks she better and more grand than the British Royals. Here are a few articles:

    http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/47077
    http://articles.latimes.com/1986-11-04/news/mn-16224_1_princess-pushy

  • Rman #45 - September 8, 2009 at 4:12 pm

I don’t know what to say about Princess Michael of Kent. I have read that she has given interviews but I have never seen them and none of them is on YouTube. I just don’t know her well enough. I do know there’s been a great deal of gossip about her over the years but as we all know, gossip can be filled with lots of false info and rumors.

  • mapleleaf #46 - September 8, 2009 at 5:27 pm

Rman, if you read the 2 articles about Princess Michael that I posted the links for, you’ll find them very interesting. Both articles are very old, one is from 1985.

  • Katharine #47 - September 8, 2009 at 5:46 pm

Thanks for the articles, Mapleleaf. The LA Times article is from November of 1986, therefore, if Princess Michael stated that, apart from Prince Philip, she has a better pedigree than anyone who has married into the British Royal Family since World War II, that would include Princess Diana!

As for Prince Charles’ “Rent-a-Kent” comment, well, he has sold his name in one way or another too, has he not? What about the Highgrove shop, the Duchy line of products, etc., etc.? Let’s be fair here… l

  • Rman #48 - September 8, 2009 at 6:03 pm

    Hi Mapleleaf,

I just read the articals and she is one odd ball.

I found this interesting. I have ho idea of the validity of article. It might have already been posted. Who will get married first? Kate or Zara?

  • bluefire #50 - September 8, 2009 at 8:15 pm

well i don’t think that it is the same of Autumn kelly mother

  • Guest #51 - September 8, 2009 at 8:29 pm

It is said that Princess Anne came up with the monicater “Princess Pushy.” I am in no way defending Princess Michael, but Princess Anne, that beacon of grace and humility, is certainly one to cast stones. LOL

  • Guest #52 - September 8, 2009 at 8:30 pm

I meant “moniker” not monicater, a stellar typo.

  • bluefire #53 - September 8, 2009 at 8:45 pm

let see what happens who will attend the wedding on Saturday..

  • Guest #54 - September 8, 2009 at 8:47 pm

I’ve read that the only profile royal to have accepted is Princess Eugenie.

  • Lisa #55 - September 8, 2009 at 11:02 pm

Thanks everyone for the info on Princess Michael. It was quite informative. :)

  • Phoebe #56 - September 8, 2009 at 11:24 pm

I think Princess Anne calling anyone Princess Pushy is a real howler.
