Princess Diana and Prince HarryThe Sun newspaper reports that Prince Harry will become a multi-millionaire when he turns 25 next Tuesday…

The birthday means Harry inherits his share of Princess Diana’s fortune, estimated at £9million. He and brother William, 27, inherited about £6.5million each when their mum died 12 years ago.

Both princes are prevented from spending the lump sum of their inheritance until they turn 30. But all income generated by Harry’s portion of the estate – around £300,000 a year – will go into his bank account from next week.

Where have the years gone indeed… Happy birthday Harry. Seeing this photo of Harry and Princess Diana only reminds me of how much the boys have missed in their lives. :(

I agree Kathrine. Diana was a great mother, she gave those boys so much love.

Harry should give 100% of that money to charity, like his mother should have. He doesn’t need it, nor does he deserve it.

  • mapleleaf #8 - September 12, 2009 at 5:50 pm

Booze, that’s bull. Harry is entitled to his own money, he didn’t steal it from anyone. Being financially comfortable is not a crime, and there’s no reason for Harry to give his money away.

Just because some people have more money than others doesn’t mean they’re supposed to give it away.

;) How about giving 100% of your own money away first, THEN talk to us about Harry’s money.

    Booze and Mapleleaf,
Guess what? I am going to stay out of this one!
    :)

Personally, I don’t begrudge Harry one cent of his inheritance and it’s rather ironic to do so as I’m sure he’d trade it in a flash if it would bring his mother back.

  • Booze #11 - September 14, 2009 at 11:29 pm

Why don’t I give away 100% of my money? First of all, I didn’t say he should give away 100% of his money, but rather 100% of his inheritance. Second of all, I am not a millionaire who never worked a single day’s worth of hard work in my life, like Harry.

He already leeches off the taxpayers when he spends thousands of pounds at bars and pubs, he doesn’t deserve the millions that could be better spent for the hungry and homeless.

  • mapleleaf #12 - September 15, 2009 at 12:09 am

Prince Harry doesn’t receive any income of any kind from taxpayer money. He is employed by the British Army and he gets a salary cheque. He also has an income from the Duchy of Cornwall, through Prince Charles. None of that is tax payer money.

At least we KNOW Harry works plenty hard every day in the military because photos of Harry at work are available to the public. At least we actually know that Harry is working for his Queen and his country.

Which is more than can be said for anonymous persons on the internet.

  • mapleleaf #13 - September 15, 2009 at 12:09 am

    ;) And Clover, I understand! :D

  • Booze #14 - September 15, 2009 at 12:34 am

Harry doesn’t take any money from the taxpayer? Who pays for Harry’s security?

Pictures don’t prove he works hard: it proves that the propaganda machine is in full swing.

I have information and facts about Harry, which I can interpret which ever way I deem appropriate. You know nothing about my life, my education, the work I do, or how I live my private life. Don’t make any assumptions about me.

The royals security is a yearly fixed budget no matter if there in the UK or in any other place around the world. That’s what parliament is for, approving expenses.

The royals need to be protected 24/7; violence and terrorism.

I hope Harry keeps on enjoying every free time he’s got however he wants to use it. I’m in for retirement, when the time is due.

    Mapleleaf,
    I thought you would! :)

  • mapleleaf #17 - September 15, 2009 at 8:29 am

Booze, you specifically said that Harry leeches off taxpayers when he spends thousands of pounds at bars and pubs, and that was incorrect.

Attempting to bring Harry’s security costs into the conversation won’t fix the fact that your statement was incorrect.

Me, thanks very much for pointing out the simple fact that parliament votes on expenses every year, and a budget is set for William and Harry’s security expenses.

Harry’s security costs are the same amount whether he’s at a pub or he’s at work. He is protected 24/7, and the cost is the same whether Harry’s at work or at a pub or club.

And at least we’ve seen photos of Harry at work. You’re saying that he needs to give away his own personal inheritance, but you still haven’t provided a valid reason why, and you’ve provided no valid information to back up what you said. IMO your spouting nothing but sour grapes.

Why don’t you just leave Prince Harry alone, at least we can all see the good HE does. We don’t know anything about anonymous people on the internet.

    And Clover,

  • Me #19 - September 15, 2009 at 3:01 pm

Booze, I don’t think the press will catch on the give it away to charity.

I already heard the sick version of Chelsy Davy the golddigger, because it happens to be that supposedly she’s back with Harry a few weeks before his 25th. Sad!
