Queen Mother’s biography discloses thoughts about Charles divorce – Telegraph
Queen Elizabeth “utterly abhorred” the way Diana, Princess of Wales decided to “wash dirty linen in public” by covertly giving the author Andrew Morton highly sensitive details about her marital turmoil, which she also discussed in a BBC Panorama programme…
It’s a pity the QM wasn’t “utterly abhorred” by Camilla’s role in Charles and Diana’s marriage. I assume she was not or else she wouldn’t have allowed them to spend time at Birkhall. Events/history could (and should) have been very different indeed.
does anyone know about when this was published. ive been trying to find it for school and cant find it anywhere.

probably second half of 2004 based on the other cover stories.
Jobson wrote in his media blog on the 3rd about the William & Kate plan.

Even if no wedding happens next year, it will be interesting to see if they bring her out of the background next year.
Honestly,Rman,I don’t believe any of these stories. Jobson is self serving in that he wants to sell his books so his credibility is out the window in my book. To be plainly honest,2009 should have been the year. 2010, the elections, so maybe 2011. The bottom line in my book is that whatever the reasons are, William and Kate, upto this point, chose not to marry. We all have out theories as to why but no one really knows and time keeps ticking on. They seem happy enough together and neither appears to be seeking any other companionship of the opposite sex so I think it is safe to deduce that they plan to remain together but when that day will come when we can give each other cyber high fives remains a mystery and will until they finally decide to either call it quits or take the plunge. I am hoping for the latter but there are no guarantees. I am keeping the faith but not holding my breath.
Lisa I agree 2009 should have been the year and I hope we will eventually find out why it didn’t happen this year. I also hope we don’t have to wait until 2011 to have this happen. Clarence House have already denied that anything is in place for 2011. Did they ever deny or make a we never comment on the Queen’s christmas plans comment for the last Kate at Christmas rumor??
I really don’t believe Jobson’s theory either. I’m pretty much going with what Ingrid Seward said, the Queen advised that no wedding should take place this year because of the bad economic crisis.
I’m still waiting to see what next year will bring. I know the elections will be held next year but that’s early next year and I think once that is over and done, a wedding could take place. If it can not take place next year and only in 2011, I hope Kate will be brung out of the shadows a bit. I’m with you all though, I hope we don’t have to wait until 2011.
catching up !!!! was the ‘book’ ever released? or did they change the release date again? everyone have a great weekend. we are flooding here in georgia.
Well it all depends on why they are not married yet as to when and if we will see Kate’s profile raised again. Given the greater amount of engagements we have seen William do and the growth he has shown,I tend to think they took this year to work on him and his profile, which does make sense. With the exception of the kiss video,it seems like Kate’s public appearences have been closely controlled and I don’t think that is any accident. We will have to watch and see how this all plays out.
Ginger that book cannot be released without an engagement announcement as it likely contains images that require approval before being published and that approval won’t e given until things are official.
Lisa I do agree with that, her appearences is being controlled.
It seems like the Queen Mother’s biography is not going down so well and I’m not shocked by that.

I think it’s sad that Diana’s letters to the Queen Mother was destroyed. I wonder how William & Harry feel about that?
Katharine I don’t think the royals was actually in their right minds back in those days. The Queen & Queen Mother turned a blind eye to the Charles & Diana problem so they are the ones that let the saga carry on. They like to blame everything on Diana and they babied Charles, so they were the cause to the drama in the early 90′s.
The truth is just too embarassing for the royal family, so they often skim over the truths and get to the parts that make them look good. William Shawcross is trying to stay in the royal family’s good graces. He probably will receive an knighthood at some point.
I agree with your obsevations, Rman.
As for the burning of the letters… While it’s unfortunate that it was done, at least no one can erase Diana’s Panorama interview. Thank goodness her thoughts and feelings were documented.
ARRGH!
The RF have us spinning our wheels. I am not a hamster, guinea pig, or any other kind of pet rodent. When was the last time we had REAL royal news?
yeah i probably went for holiday
