Prince HarryThe Daily Mail reckons that producers are working on a film based on Prince Harry’s life…

The picture, to be called The Spare, will be international in scale, with shooting set to start around this time next year on locations in the UK and the Middle East.

However, once director Peter Kosminsky and his producers have read the script they will start to get ideas about which young actor might portray the royal who is third in line of succession.

‘His parents break up in the most spectacularly public way, his mother dies in the most tragic, and public way. He’s a man born to no role, the heir and the spare. Then Harry joins the Army and for 77 days sees action in Afghanistan – and finds, possibly for the first and only time in his life, a role.’

‘Suddenly, he finds himself alongside ordinary guys. …For the first time in his life he doesn’t feel like a spare part. But then that’s snatched away and, fearing for his safety, the Army top brass send Harry home.’

A screenplay won’t be completed till the end of the year, meaning casting won’t begin until well into the New Year.

Uh – I really like PH and all that – but itsn’t it a bit soon to be making a movie about his life? Shouldn’t that be something they do closer to the end of your life?

Wonder who they’ll get to play Harry – I can’t think of anyone who reminds me of him. Of course, I didn’t look at Helen Mirum ( I don’t know how to spell her name ) and think “Queen Elizabeth”, either.

    I just hope it isn’t a bash-fest about Harry.
