I found this artical on the Queen banning the media rather interesting.

    http://tinyurl.com/yfn5ap9

Now I do like to see the royals interact with each other behind the palace walls but that’s only if the royals give us permission to see that. If they decide to ban us from their private homes, we would have no other choice but to respect their privacy, I think. I don’t think the media and world have a right peak into the royal family’s private lives unless they feel like it’s okay. I just don’t like this attitude the media have with the royals right to privacy.

    What do you all think?

Interesting article, Rman. IMO, this argument is a series of fine lines.

There’s a fine line between what is acceptable (and should be expected) and what is not. While the royals should expect the interest in them to go beyond their “time on duty,” I do believe they have a right not to be harassed by the lower element of the press. Equally, as members of the royal family, I think they have an obligation to lead by example. Therefore, I really don’t think we should see pictures of the younger generation falling out of bars and attacking or swearing at photographers. I do not respect that behavior and I don’t buy the argument that they’re young and everyone does it. No, everyone does not do it, and as members of a very privileged family that is accountable to the public, they DEFINITELY should not be doing it.

When the royals start to manipulate the press/paparazzi it will be the beginning of their very public and very ugly fall from grace. The media destroyed Diana and more recently Kate for their media cat-and-mouse games.

The British people (myself included) as taxpayers have the right to know what the royals are up to and their accompanying bodyguards considering we fund them from the depths of our very own pockets!

It should also be noted that limiting the pictures of the royal family shown in the press will make that inevitable scandalous shot all the more juicer, sensational and most importantly, valuable!

Friendly hey to everyone from Norway! :)

    I forgot to add…

If they are so afraid of being paparazzied maybe they should stop partaking in whatever activities that is making them so paranoid of being caught!

If you go to a VIP club you should down right expect to be paparazzied. You just cannot have your cake and eat it.

I cannot stand whining royals…you have all the wealth and power in the world right at your finger tips…you have no right to complain about someone snapping you at the supermarket.

Can’t take the heat? Get out of the kitchen!

Sorry, but I can’t agree that the press has destroyed Kate M. She is far from being destroyed.

    —–

Meg – Kate may have not been destroyed per se, but her reputation was badly shattered in 2007/2008 compared to her press in 2005/2006. Hence why she went into hiding from the paparazzi and media.

By January 2007 lawyers Hartbottle & Lewis sent the press and paparazzi agencies a warning. By October 2007 the warning turned into a legal action.

Videos (videos taken in secret by the lawyers) of Paparazzi harrasing, chasing, following Kate Middleton from the door of her house to destination back and forth was the major proof for the lawyers and justice to make a decision – note: the justice system considered what he saw in those videos “life threatening”. By November 2007 Jigsaw farewell party
By end November 2007 UNICEF photography
By January upto date Party Pieces and what we know from the press; Miss Middlton lives at her parents house and spent weekends with Prince William – Shropshire – Shrewsbury. Prince William has completed the part course at that RAF sight…news pending. As per now Duncan Larcombe has the inside: PH, Nat Pinkham and co are 10 day Botswana!

Good point Britt, and that is precisely why IMO Kate keeps a very low profile now. She was burbed and backed off!

The street paps use to treat Kate very bad and the British tabloids was even worse so I guess she had no other choice but to retreat to the background.

I don’t know, I just think people should respect the royals privacy.

Diana was never destroyed by the media. She mastered it and knew how to use it to her benefit. It was a double edged sword, but she most certainly was not destroyed by it. The people respected her and she had immense power thanks to the media. Other than that, I agree with Britt’s every word. Very well said.

    diana is dead
in a sesne she was destroyed
she saw it as her only way out to use them to
make sure she had the boys
my feeling is you are dead before you get into the postion…anyone plays a losing game with the media

i think it will be an ugly fall too

the media has to a certain extent destroyed km …she had to go into hiding…

It’s true that Diana was a master at using the media and she made the media shine their light on the causes that was close to her heart. Kate is not in the position that Diana was in but once she get into an official position, she will be able to use the media too. Right now they just like to mess around with Kate and the sad part is that after all this time she’s still not able to do much about it. I have feeling that will all change soon.

It would seem to me they would have to add another comma for that production to be worth it. Six figures? That’s a joke. And if that charity squandered all of the money all of the administrators should be fired.

But the princes should come to the U.S. rather than their own territories and Africa all of the time.
