It’s interesting to see all these articles and videos about people trying to figure out the date and how excited England-and probably the whole World is about the wedding.I guess it’s because we all need to see something that’s as close to a fairytale as possible-God knows,we need it…Whatever the actual date may be,I wish them a real happy ending, and hope it ends up nothing like Diana and Charles’ famous fairytale wedding…
MissChris#2 - November 24, 2009 at 7:31 am
By the way,if they would settle with 2012 for the wedding,it’s certain that we’ll be watching England all year, considering that so many great events are going to take place that year:))I don’t mind though,I love England;)

i think that ill be watching a royal wedding im still waiting for that time

I’m from the US and last night on the E channel they even had a little news clip of KM & PW – the sound was off so I couldtn’ hear what they were saying – probably just more speculation. But for the US to get in on the tlak of a wedding – maybe something will happen soon!

Hey guys, I’m not sure if this was posted last week (but it probably was cause everyone is awesome at finding docs and such), but the CBC had a documentary on the RF (After Elizabeth; a lot of people were posting about it last week):
The President & Mrs.Obama welcomed the PM of India and everyone looked beautiful.
Guest#10 - November 25, 2009 at 12:35 am
My doctor, Sharon Malone, was there — she’s married to Atty Gen. Eric Holder — and Neal Wolin, Deputy Treasury Sec’y, who I know personally, was also at the State Dinner. Michelle’s gown was FABULOUS.
I’m glad she acknowledge Harry’s relationship with Chelsy. I hope it will last.
Good Night.
jj#14 - November 25, 2009 at 9:29 am
What does that last line mean? “unlike Kate chelsy keeps away from royal events” I wasn’t aware that Kate had been to any royal events apart from garter ceremony??
Lisa#15 - November 25, 2009 at 9:47 am
I am kinda of surprised and a little disappointed that Ingrid is reporting unofficial stuff like this. I felt the same way when she wrote about the Uncle Gary junk. JJ,I don’t know what she means by the last comment. Hopefully Ingrid is not being drawn into all this royal gossip because that would be a shame,IMO.
I look forward to the next W/K sighting. Hopefully it comes soon so we can hear a little less negative speculation about the state of the relationship.
Have a good day guys and for those of you in America, Happy Thanksgiving!
kd#16 - November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am
I have a question about Ingrid’s letter. She stated that Sandringham had fewer bedrooms than before – what happened?
Rman#17 - November 25, 2009 at 10:43 am
Good Morning,
I think Ingrid meant that Kate is seen more at royal society events and due to that she is getting the media’s attention. Chelsy haven’t been seen at any society events this year so I think she meant that Chelsy wants to remain in the background.
I really don’t think we see Kate enough in my opinion. Except at the polo field and wedding, we haven’t seen much of her. The charity film premiere was a very casual event so there wasn’t much special about that. I hope we get a chance to see more of Kate next year.
Rman#18 - November 25, 2009 at 10:45 am
Sandringham is a big place and it looks like it has plenty of bedrooms but I guess things have changed.

Hi sorry for asking but whos ingred?
sojourner#22 - November 25, 2009 at 6:54 pm
We don’t know when he will marry, we still wonder how and where it will be done, and to many, even the who is matter of great debate. Yet here goes the Daily News worrying about PW first child… Talk about carts before donkeys… Or just plain old *donkeys*
As for Chelsy, she hasn’t been invited to royal events. I wonder if the next headline shall be Kate invited to Sandringham for Christmas, meanwhile, Seward is kind enough to cover the backs of the royals because I doubt Chelsy will receive an invite.
Hale#24 - November 25, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Forgot to add, Sojourner about your link. This debate has been going on all year, but I doubt anything shall be done about it, because come May we have an election. The last thing Brown will have on his mind is making reforms to the monarchy.
Rman#25 - November 25, 2009 at 7:37 pm
Hale, from what I just read I think PM Brown will push this reform this weekend. I wonder what’s going to happen?
yes, this has been going on for a while — I have actually been following the debate with interest. I was reacting to was the DMs idea that the changes were out of concern about a future heir — when this is clearly not the case, but rather a bald attempt at plugging the whole “engagement is imminent” story.
kat#28 - November 25, 2009 at 9:20 pm
Could it be that Brown who knows that he is in trouble politically is trying to get the royal family on his side in a last ditch effort to keep political power?
Rman#29 - November 25, 2009 at 9:54 pm
I don’t know but I remember early this year Lord Jeffrey Archer did say that this is coming up because it’s known that William will get married in the near future and they wanted to get this settled. So who knows maybe PM Brown will bring this up.
I personally think the royal family is fine with the way things are.
Rman#30 - November 25, 2009 at 9:59 pm
sojourner, that could be the case too. All I know that I would like to hear some official news so we could move on from these endless speculations already.
jj#31 - November 25, 2009 at 10:42 pm
I think that this is an important issue especially to avoid a situation like the Swedish Royal family where the King was rumored to have been very resentful with Carl Philip was stripped of his right to the throne when the male succession laws were abolished. There was “supposedly” a lot of rumors about Victoria being put under pressure by her father to give up her right to be Queen and let Carl Philip again take his place as the heir to the throne.
After Charles and Camilla the last thing the British monarchy needs is a drama over who is going to inherit the throne.. I do happen to think the law is out dated and whoever is born first should reign… JMO
Galeisha#32 - November 26, 2009 at 12:18 am
If the laws changes does it means that princess anne will become 4th in line after harry or wil this new law only apply for the next generation?
Me#33 - November 26, 2009 at 7:54 am
If it passes, there is no mention that it will be retroactive. So it would be with PW children.

Quoting Ms Steward: ” Chelsy has seemingly chosen to keep away from royal events for fear of attracting too much attention.”
What nonsense. I doubt very much that Chelsy has CHOSEN to keep away from royal events. I think the truth is her attendance hasn’t been “encouraged.” As for her not wanting to attract attention, oh please. What about all the appearances at posh night clubs, her Facebook antics, her decision to move to England in the first place and recently the move to London?
Galeisha#35 - November 26, 2009 at 9:56 am
Anybody got pics of queens visit to bermuda? i got brown.
Me#36 - November 26, 2009 at 10:06 am
I haven’t seen any pics of Chelsy ‘riding the tube’ or at A&O. There is a read ‘in between the lines’ of Mrs. Ingrid Sewards editorial letter.
Chris#37 - November 26, 2009 at 11:20 am
As for the new law – I also think this is important. The RF cannot afford another drama about the succession to the throne. They will lose all the respect from the British people.
I sometimes feel a bit sorry for Crown Princess Victoria. She must be under immense (!) pressure to do a good job as a crown princess, just to prove her father that she is a worthy heir to the throne. Probably this is why she seems to work her b**t off – all these internships in the different European countries, and this year she finished a BA in French (besides her work). The British Princes are not the only ones that have a lot on their shoulders.
Rman#38 - November 26, 2009 at 11:34 am
That’s true Chris. Crown Princess Victoria use to hit the clubs like the young Britsh royals but that all stopped long ago and now she’s a serious working royal. That girl is everywhere and I think she flies the flag for Sweden very well.
Here are some pictures from the Queen’s trip Galeisha:
I’m surprised the trip’s not getting much more coverage.

Sojourner your post at #27
That’s a great post because you have now put into my head why this story has come up and it isn’t because of imminent engagement, rather MP’s possibly being charged over expense scandal, plus we currently have an enquiry into Iraq.
In other words its possible our PM is trying to divert attention.
Galeisha  The time …. I always wondered is that American or Australian time displayed by the date.

Galeisha#46 - November 26, 2009 at 2:54 pm

Rman#47 - November 26, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Hi Galeisha, in the links that I provided for you just type in Queen Elizabeth in the search bars and you will see the pictures.
I really don’t know what the British government will do about the line of succession but they know that William is of age and at some point he will get married and have children so they may want to deal with this soon. I think the first born should be the future Monarch, no matter if it’s a boy or girl. I think Catholics should be able to marry into the royal family.
Galeisha#48 - November 26, 2009 at 4:14 pm
Once again thnx rman. Her maj looks beautiful. I always admire her dress code. Fashionable but also elegant. Its bedtime so goodnight.
Hale#49 - November 26, 2009 at 5:11 pm
IMO, it will be changed and updated much the same way it has been in some Scandinavian countries already. However, I don’t think it will happen just yet, but after the General Election.
When it does become law, what has to be addressed is the Defender of the Faith title.
The Defender of the Faith was awarded ironically to Henry VIII by the Pope, when he wrote a book against Protestantism. When England broke from Rome, Henry made himself head of the Church of England. The Pope rescinded the award, but the COE awarded it to England.
Since then all Monarchs of England are Head of the Church. If then any of them marry Catholics, or become Catholics how can they remain head of the COE. I daresay they shall address this when they do eventually reform these acts.
Although I do recall PC saying in his Dimbleby interview years ago, “Why not Defender of the Faiths?” Faiths being plural. Unfortunately, this interview is only now remembered for one thing and that was for admitting adultery.
Jj#50 - November 26, 2009 at 5:55 pm

they are interested because they want to strengthen the bond between Britain and Australia. Australia is part of the Commonwealth, technically, the Queen is still Head of State. But as several other countries, Australia wants to leave the Commonwealth – the hope is, that with a young prince in a GG position, Australia might rethink.
Chris#55 - November 27, 2009 at 12:30 pm
The Commonwealth is the “successor” of the former British Empire. It is said that several countries want to leave the Commonwealth, South Africa, Canada, Australia, India. It is a part of a past – they do not think it is appropriate anymore.
jj#56 - November 27, 2009 at 1:41 pm
Chris I guess that makes sense but I think it’s another out dated institution. It’s good to have strong ties between countries IMO but I don’t necessarily think it is important to rule over them. JMO and I am British by the way..
