    I do not think that the American reporter was told not to touch Prince Harry, or else I doubt she would have. Harry did not appear to mind it anyway.

    I doubt Harry would have minded being touched either. He himself is noted for being openly tactile. One only has to peruse the pics taken of him and Chelsy to see that.

    I doubt Harry cared about being touched – he’s kind of a “touchy-feely, huggy” type person. I noticed the reporters “all Americans love the royal family” sort of snipe – would they rather everyone in America hate them? We’re not a commonwealth country, so we’re in a different situation.

    But I did find the American reporters fawning over Harry sort of funny – she was probably excited to get an assignment interviewing a nice-looking man in sunny Barbados than interviewing the mayor of a city in the throws of a snowstorm, which she could have easily done last week. I would be, too.

    That shade of blue really suits Kate. I’m not to keen on the lace dress. It is smart and elegant, but dull on Kate.

    Really? Totally agree with you. Having now been shown pics of TG I too think it is her on the boat.

    Still don’t know who the girl on the polo field was. Have been trying to find pics of Sir Charles Williams daughters. If he has any. I was thinking perhaps daddy’s girl/girls would have the boldness of running on the the field like that.

    Are you all serious? Nothing to say about Harry going to fish? He was in the carribean to play polo match to collect funds for his charity sentebale. He asked to go to Haîti, he could not and decided to go fishing. that’s why harry would never been taken seriously. He was not in the carribean for having a good time with some friends. A lot of people would conclude of yes he went there to arrange some holidays and maybe play a bit of polo. How much this cost? I’m begining to dislike harry if he is behaving like this

    I think everyone is entitled during business trips to have ‘free time’, when representing the firm you work for. W&H know they are being watched, thus the paparazzi and press are and will be always on the prowl. The boys are alike in some way while different in other, tastes, etc.

    I was under the impression that it was decided that H was unable to go to Haiti because of the security section. Still, I’m sure if it was felt that a member of RF should go then a royal would have been dispatched.

    I understand the Q paid for the expenses of the trip although we the tax payers pay for security. Still, I am not complaining and I am British so I don’t understand why non Brits should complain.

    Of course, if any of you do reside in a Commonwealth country you can always vote republic, but be warned, you don’t save money in the long run because all those expenses are then transferred to Head of State and their family.

    As for why those residing in the States should get so heated up about the cost is beyond me.

    It is well known that all the royals when on tour like to take out some time for themselves in order to recharge.

    So the answer is no, I don’t begrudge PH going out to fish, and I didn’t begrudge PW going out with friends for dinner when down under and I didn’t begrudge PC taking out time for himself or even my not so favourite person Camilla taking out time to go hunting when in the Americas.

    Why should anyone? I don’t feel that shaking hands, making small talk is as easy as it looks.

    I have noticed that both PW & PH have been likened to their mother whenever they go on visits. I suppose that is inevitable.

    I’ve just taken a look at the Sentebale website. It has been a while and I see they have changed it. They go so far as addressing the DM’s criticism’s. Pity that the DM couldn’t be bothered to publish it.

    For eg: I quote:

    “I have reluctantly taken the decision for Sentebale to suspend support for the LCCU after they continually failed to comply with basic accountability and transparency for money already given to them; all of our other partners adhere to this standard NGO practice.”

    forget the cost of prince harry in barbados, because I really dont care.

    But sorry, barbados and haîti are in the same area : the caraibes. I really think it is indecent to behave like this and go fishing. You just cant one day say “oh let us go to haiti to help those poor people” and the day after go fishing and drink. Just show some respect in being low key as william would have been more a proper way to behave. The right thing in this particular moment would be after the polo match to go back home and not take some sun on a yacht during the same time many charities were working hard to save lifes in haiti. Not a good way to take Harry seriously. If he had had diner with some friends in a restaurant the story would have been totally different and pretty normal.

    With respects to free time on tours, the newspapers and we in the Uk are not making anything of it.

    Wonder what the reaction would have been if PW had been having a private dinner in Barbados instead of Australia. My view would have been the same and that is some personal time would be good in order to recharge.

    Well – I don’t know who any of the people are in the picture fishing ( but other people seem to ) – did they come with him? The other men are older – is it possible that that is part of raising money, that they are donors to Sentebale?

    It was also reported that he asked to be sent to Haiti instead or along with the Barbados trip, but that they said he would be too big of a distraction, that it would strain their limited resources protecting him. Just a thought.

    And in the one picture where he has his hand next to his mouth and it looks like he’s signaling for a drink, he might have just put food in his mouth and is lowering his hand – it looks like he has something in his mouth. = ) OK, now I’m just reaching.
    He’s on his own with that one. Though I’m surprised at the pics they put in the papers – not the ones I would have picked.

    the reason she isn’t talked about as much is because she isn’t seen out and about and until she is married I think that is a good thing for her and hr family to stay out of hte spotlight for their sake.

    Ked, things are just very calm right now because William is in Wales training and Kate just keeping a low profile right now. We usually don’t hear much about her during this time of the year. Kate is still very much popular but it’s just that the internet blogs often give her a hard time. Don’t count her out because you don’t hear much about her and you read a few nasty comments about her, she’s still on the top.

    Ked – I dont know if you just like to try to get people riled up or what, but how can there be much talk of someone when there is not much news about KM? I believe everything is fine – & I dont’ think KM’s popularity has gone down – especialy here. I truely believe that there will be an engagement this year.

    I too hold out hope for an engagement and wedding this year. PW will finish with training in Sept and then get a break before being stationed. An engagement can come in june after the elections with a wedding I Sept or early Oct. They can spend the Holidays with the RF and off to their first home on the RAF base in Jan 2011.
