No engagement shall be announced before an election. It stands to reason that the RF would want the wedding hyped. No chance of that before an election or even shortly after.

With regards to the brave helicopter pilot in Afghanistan, where does it say he was a S&R pilot?

Ordinary pilots can be tasked with picking up casualties as well. Whatever he was, I think he just managed to earn himself the St George’s Cross which is Britains second highest medal. The first being the Victoria Cross.

total change of subject—- how does the royal family members pick out names for their children? do the parents have a lot of input or is there some sort of protocol in place? i tried looking on the internet but just could not find a site that explained it well. also how are the godparents picked?
