Hi 1981Observer, Thank you for sharing your song with us!
Diana wedding cake sells for $2,138
<http://www.britishroyalwedding.com/forum/index.php?topic=31.msg80#msg80>
Friday, 29 August 2008 7:56 PM
via Sydney Morning Herald
/A piece of wedding cake saved from Prince Charles' marriage to Lady
Diana Spencer 27 years ago has sold at auction for STG1,000 ($A2,138).
While the only bit left of the slice was a 23cm square piece of icing
and marzipan weighing 800 grams, an anonymous bidder couldn't resist
buying the memento.
It had originally been given to Moyra Smith, who worked for the Queen
Mother at Clarence House at the time of Charles and Diana's wedding in
1981. Smith carefully preserved the top of the slice, featuring the
royal coat of arms coloured in red, gold and blue, in cling film and
kept it stored in a metal tin./

Do you want PW to marry KM?

Hi everyone.
I'm just running this poll to find out what people really want and I
plan to do it across a number of forums and sites to get a good cross
section. I think it's a good idea to target mainly royal forums or sites
as the people who view them would be well informed and therefore would
have reasons for their opinion. The more people who vote, the more
reliable it will be and you can help get your opinion across.
Thank you.
So what is your view + reason?

Yeah, I think this whole story is made up.
Whatever the Queen actually thinks, she's been around long enough to
know not to comment on these things.
I think the 'Kate get a job' thing is really up to Kate - she doesn't
have any 'obligation' to the nation or anyone else to get a job.
If she's working 3 days a week helping at her parent's business then
keeping busy the other days - how is that different to many other
part-time employed people around the world?

Thank you for these articles, and thank you for putting the forum back
up again.
In the article about Kate getting a job, my personal view on this is
that HM did not make such a comment. In the same article, it is written
that the palace (or Clarence House) does not make comments on Kate
Middleton because she's a private individual. If that's the marching
orders then these comments regarding the Queen saying that Kate should
get a job are hard to believe.
I'm not saying that she should not get a job, and maybe she has one that
no one knows about. What I am saying is that HM probably never made
these comments.

Tuesday, 3 June 2008 3:14 PM
Well, I am more of the opinion that Kate will be a better suitable wife
than William a suitable husband. William seems to be "wilder" than
kate, or perhaps less mature. However, time will tell. When he will be
on full time Royal duty, perhaps he will develop qualities that will
turn him into a very suitable husband, assuming he will be a husband by
that time.

I definitely think she is a suitable bride. She and her family have
remained loyal to PW and his family. No one really knows anything about
KM except what they read. However, PW knows probably almost everything
about her and I think that is why he is still with her after all these
years. She must possess some very good qualities. Wink

Well it's really up to William isn't it?
I don't think the work ethic thing should come into it - she's not
engaged, she doesn't have any "royal obligations" to perform charity
work, etc.
We don't really have any idea how she spends her time other than what
has been sensationally reported in the British press. If she is working
as a photographer for her parents store three days a week that's still
working! Maybe she's spending the rest of the week furthering her
photographic studies?

I reckon these stories are just that - stories. Created to sell papers.
The 'Queen wants Kate to get a job' has really taken off around the world.
It's really up to Kate I think, I doubt she's getting any financial
assistance from the government so if she can get away with doing 3 days
work a week well good luck to her - I wish I could :-) She's not obliged
to do any charity work.
I also think that they will get engaged after William's time in the
forces is complete.

For all intense and purposes, I think they are already married in
private. I hope you understand what exactly I am saying. They are of
course not married in the real sense, they are not even engaged for that
matter. But, it's a matter of time, and as calculating as they can be,
the royal family is already going through the wedding and marriage pla.
Yes, to them, it is a plan. We might find this shocking, but deep down,
that's what it really comes down to.
I would not be surprised if they have already asked ran fertility
tests. Because the bottom line is this (and it is cruel): She will
marry him if she can produe a heir.....assuming that he can!!
Re: Kate Middleton- a suitable bride?

This is a very difficult question to answer. Is she a suitable wife?
Viewed from which pair of eyes? From Her Majesty's? From the public? Or
from William himself?
What is our definition of suitable wife? Suitability to be a Consort to
the future King? I think so. Why do I think so? She has known William
for so many years and no other woman currently alive knows him better
than her. From this perspective, she is suitable.
We should also ask the question: Would William be a suitable husband?
Not from the point of view that he might be a future King, but more from
the point of view of him as a person. If we look at both sides of this
coin, I think that she is more suitable than he might be.

I know that this topic may cause very heated debates but I felt that we
should have a place to discuss this without it popping up in every other
topic or comments to news articles.
I felt that this thread could be used to discuss Kate's suitability for
a Princess as well as her work ethic.

Thanks for the articles, they are great.
About the engagement rumors, I really wonder if these are nothing but
press fabricated. This happened before and we all know the results. I
sometimes wonder if William and Kate don't really have a laugh at all
these rumors.
Personally, i do think they are getting engaged, but no announcement
will emrge for another 6 months. I don't think they would be engaged for
more than 5-6 months, this would mean a wedding date of mid-2009, in my
humble opinion, of course.

Hi carla and karla64!
I will look further into enabling photo uploading over the course of
this weekend. I think you can upload small images at the moment.
In the meanwhile the easiest way is to upload images to a free hosting
service such as;
Imageshack - http://www.imageshack.us/
Then you just select the image/s you want to appear in your post and
click "Get code for Forums".
Then you just paste that text into your post here and the images will
display.
I will write a step by step tutorial on how to do this over the next
little while.
In the meanwhile - thanks for stopping by, I know it's slow here now but
forums always are when they first start out! I will be doing some more
"advertising" on the blog section of the website to encourage more
members over here!
Steven.

time being. I think this will help our new forum get more participating
members.

Hi Carla,
I agree.
I think that they will get engaged after Prince William's
army/airforce/navy commitments are completed.
If they are smart they won't read any of the press written about them,
surely that would be one of the bigger stresses on their relationship,
the constant speculation.
Of course it's fine for us to watch it all from the sidelines... Lips

It just might be the wedding of the century, but there is no way of
predicting when it will happen. There has been so much speculation
about these two, that it is difficult to distinguish between what is
reality and what is fiction.
I hope they get married, but I fear that the longer they wait, the
riskier their relationship will be. You know, it's like dragging things
for too long. One of them might change his/her mind....hopefully not.

Harry seems to have two personalities. At times he seems quite grown up

wasn't driving, however, as a Royal, and a senior royal by his rank in

That would surely fit his style. To complete the visual display,
perhaps Chelsy could get a tatoo of the same butterfly and show it on
one of her shoulders. I'm sure that would have been some spectacle when
she met the queen at P&A's wedding, if she did in fact meet her.

thought that the photos would be limited to official type posed shots -
not the candid snaps that supposedly appear in the story.
Anyway it sounds like this will be the last time this sort of deal is

Yes, the Royal family did sellout! It's all about GREED!
How do they expect any one to respect them after this? They all have
more than enough money to have paid for this wedding.
I believe that it was only Peter and Autumn that made the deal with
Hello. In fact the rest of the Royal Family was quite furiuos at this
deal. It was rumored, although I dont believe it, that this might have

Harry needs to grow up! He doesn't seem to care about anyone, but himself.
First, it's shooting innocent birds out of the sky and now it's
endangering everyone who was on the highway that night.

Yes, the Royal family did sellout! It's all about GREED!
How do they expect any one to respect them after this? They all have
more than enough money to have paid for this wedding.
A Royal Sellout? The Hello Magazine deal

"The royal family was accused today of "selling out" to a celebrity
magazine.
MPs and commentators reacted angrily after Hello! devoted 59 pages to
the wedding of Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly for which the couple,
both 30, were paid £500,000. The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh and Prince
Charles as well as Prince Harry, his girlfriend Chelsy Davy and Kate
Middleton are all pictured at the ceremony.
Peter, who is 11th in line to the throne and the Queen's first
grandchild to marry, wed his Canadian bride in St George's Chapel in
Windsor Castle last Saturday."

I did not read the Canadian press but I am sure they had nice words to
say about the wedding. Our TV networks were all positive and paraised
the local girl from Pointe-Claire. I am happy for them.

Peter Phillips became the first of the Royal family's younger generation
to marry yesterday, leaving everyone wondering who will be next to wed?
Peter, 30, married Canadian Autumn Kelly, also 30, in front of the Queen
and other royal family members in St George's Chapel in Windsor.
Following the nuptials, royal watchers are turning their attention to
the family's other young royals in anticipation of the next regal wedding.

Hi guys, here's the link to the Daily Star article - like carla said
it's very tabloid!
"Prince William ducked the blueblood wedding of the year yesterday – but
he still has marriage on his mind.
The royal heart-throb is planning his own big day with his girlfriend
Kate Middleton."

What seems to be mystifing about Harry is that he seems to have two
personalities. Obtains a medal of honor for serving his country anf
going to the front. Then at home, he sometimes lacks marutity.
More so, and you mention ity well, one would think that he would have
learned from history.

This is an alarming story. Not only the life of inocent people are at
risk, but so are the lives of those who were in Harry's car. What were
they thinking?
It is difficult to believe that someone as high profile as PH could do
something like that. I realize he was not the driver, but that is no
excuse. he has enough pull to order the driver to slow down, don't you
think?

Well, just look at which tabloid it is. The main thing for tabloids is
to sell papers. So, which headlines are "sellers"? Easy answer, IMO.

Police are investigating claims that Prince Harry and his bodyguards
took part in a reckless 100mph car chase on their way to Boujis
nightclub. In the driving seat was a male friend wearing a baseball cap
speaking into his mobile phone. Harry tried to hide his identity by
putting on sunglasses and placing his hands over his face. Later the
same evening, the 23-year-old Prince was seen partying at Boujis
nightclub in Kensington until 3.30am.

I think the bride is very nice, and she will fit in very well,a very
good choice.
Chelsy Davy is pretty and will make a good choice as well.
However Kate Middleton, is a bad choice, I can t stand her, she looks
down her nose at everyone, and is very ugly.

Peter Phillips's bride pursued an acting career as a teenager and
appeared in a film directed by Bob Hoskins, it has emerged.
Miss Kelly, with blonde frizzy hair, was 16 when she appeared in the
children's adventure film, which was shot over nine weeks in her native
Montreal in 1994.
Hoskins, the British actor, also appeared in the movie, which starred
Dan Aykroyd as a police chief. Miss Kelly, in tight jeans and leather
jacket, played the exotic sounding Tigrette Number 3, a member of a
school gang. Her name comes up in the credits at the end.

Chelsy Davy turns down Royal protection

"Prince Harry’s girlfriend Chelsy Davy has refused armed guards as she
wants to be a “normal studentâ€.
The 23-year-old Prince wanted his girlfriend to be given round-the-clock
protection.
But Chelsy, 22, has turned down the chance to have her own private minders.
She does not want to ruin her student life in Leeds, where she is
studying for a postgraduate law degree."

"Marching along in his bowler hat, he looked as fresh and alert as a
young soldier should.
Few would have guessed that just hours earlier Prince Harry had bowled
out of a nightclub, slightly more bleary-eyed.
Anyone else who looked as he did at 3.30am - dishevelled and with his
ginger hair standing on end - would have wanted to spend their Sunday in
bed."

Queen Bea: Princess Beatrice wins the style stakes at the polo
"Princess Beatrice was the epitome of summer chic as she took in the
polo and enjoyed the May sunshine in a frothy white sun dress.
Wearing aviators and casual flat pumps, the 19-year-old looked relaxed
as she watched the sport her cousins Princes William and Harry are so
fond of.
However, it seems Bea was the only royal at the Masters Tournament in
Hurtwood Park and the best-dressed girl in crowd."
