Chelsy plans Morale Boosting trip to Afghanistan

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Chelsy Davy is considering travelling to Afghanistan to visit British troops. She is said to have been inspired by boyfriend Prince Harry’s tour of duty in the war-torn country.

‘She would love to go out with Prince Harry as part of an official visit,’ a source reveals.

‘Harry feels he has some unfinished business in the area and would love to visit troops still working out there. Chelsy would also relish the opportunity.

‘If she did it would really mean she had been accepted into the Royal “Firm”,’ the insider tells the Daily Star Sunday

Harry, 22, had to leave service in Afghanistan after when his whereabouts were leaked on a US website. He had been secretly serving in the country for 10 weeks.

Meanwhile, law student Chelsy, 22, is organising a series of club nights to raise money for the armed forces. (via Now Magazine)

Prince Harry’s exploits on the frontline in Afghanistan are revealed in this extract from a new book
Harry’s War: The True Story of Prince Harry’s Heroism in Afghanistan by royal watcher Robert Jobson.

“To the fighter pilots and the crews manning spy planes above the battlefields of Afghanistan he was just Widow Six Seven, another radio call sign, a reassuring voice of authority, a brother in arms, a bit of a wag and, in Harry’s case, an incorrigible flirt.

It seemed you could take the boy out of Boujis, his favourite London nightclub, but not take Boujis out of the boy.

Laughter could be heard coming from the control. Much to the amusement of his colleagues, Harry chatted with a female Harrier pilot, Michelle Tompkins, about the snow-covered mountains over which she was soaring and commented on how perfect they would be for a spot of skiing.

Moments later, a separate radio channel crackled into life with Harry’s laughing comrades telling him to get a room if he was planning on pursuing that line of chat.

When Harry upset Chelsy… again - Daily Mail
While his older brother’s romantic life moves inevitably, and a touch predictably, towards an engagement, there is less optimism about Prince Harry’s volatile relationship with Chelsy Davey. The passionate pair appeared happy enough when they were spotted drinking together with pals at the Duke of Beaufort’s Polo Club in Gloucestershire the other day. But I hear that behind the scenes all is not well…

Mandela’s Grandsons Taken By Kate - Sky News
Their grandfather is one of the most famous men in the world; they attended last week’s Hyde Park concert with Hollywood A-listers Robert de Niro and Will Smith; but Nelson Mandela’s grandsons have revealed that what made them REALLY star-struck was a chance meeting with Prince William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton…

Should Prince William be marrying Kate Middleton? - Times Online
I never thought I’d say this, Molly, but I’m beginning to feel sorry for Prince William. The pressure on him to marry Kate Middleton is getting ridiculous. Why can’t everyone just leave the poor guy alone? Forget leaving him in peace. I think the more onerously the pressure mounts on him to make a decision, the better…

Chelsy pats the Pup as Harry plays Polo

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

Britain’s Prince Harry was cheered on by girlfriend Chelsy Davy at a charity polo match this weekend.

Chelsy - dressed in a blue top and white skirt - was reportedly a low-key presence at the event, mainly staying in the VIP tent.

Fellow spectator Morva White said: “Chelsy was here, watching from a VIP tent, along with some other members of Hurlingham, the club William and Harry both play for. She was getting quite excited.”

“The prince was just getting on with business - he’s much more concerned about raising money for his charity when he’s playing polo. Chelsy is very good at keeping out of the way for these sorts of events.”

Harry’s team, Umbongo, lost to Laird in the Dorchester Cup at Cirencester Park by eight to six-and-a-half.

The tournament was raising money for three causes, including Harry’s charity Sentable, which helps AIDS orphans in the African region of Lesotho. (via Monsters & Critics)

Harry’s not Happy with Autumn & Peter’s Hello! deal

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

PHOTO - Hello!Prince Harry was said to be “incensed” last night after candid snaps of him at his cousin’s wedding were splashed all over a celebrity mag.

Harry, 23, had no idea that a photographer at the reception after Peter Phillips’ marriage was from Hello!

He feels “stitched up” after 18 photos of him appeared in the magazine which hit the shelves yesterday – with 58 pages devoted to the wedding of Peter and Canadian Autumn Kelly, both 30.

A senior Royal source said Harry WAS aware that the couple had a deal with Hello! to take pictures.

But it was never made clear that this would include informal shots taken while he and other guests relaxed at the evening bash.

The source said “at no point was approval sought or given” to the photographer for pictures of Harry.

Prince Harry suits up for Memorial Parade

Monday, May 12th, 2008

PHOTO - Prince Harry at paradePrince Harry has been reunited with soldiers he served alongside in Afghanistan at a memorial service.

The Prince’s Blues and Royals regiment led the Cavalry Memorial Parade in Hyde Park, central London.

His father, the Prince of Wales, took the salute as five bands and the detachments from the Cavalry and Yeomanry passed by.

The soldiers swapped their uniforms for the traditional ensemble of suits, bowler hats and umbrellas.

Fred Collingwood, who served with the Blues and Royals, said he was happy to see Harry at the event.

He said: “The nice thing about the man is that there’s nothing pretentious about him, he’s a soldier, he never shies away from a member of his regiment.”

Hundreds of soldiers, their families and crowds of well-wishers gathered in Hyde Park for the parade.

After the march, Prince Charles laid a wreath at the Cavalry Memorial before a service of remembrance at the park’s bandstand. (via ITN)

Popstar hugs for princes William and Harry

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

PHOTO - Joss Stone with Prince Harry and Prince William
There seems to be an easy familiarity between Joss Stone and Prince Harry, demonstrated by the rather enthusiastic hug the pair shared at an event to celebrate Britain’s armed forces last night.

The pair, last seen together at the memorial concert for Princess Diana last July, hugged warmly, and chatted together at the open-air extravaganza in London last night.

Joss, who wore a slinky black dress, with her red coloured locks freely flowing, greeted both prince William and Harry like old friends, hugging them enthusiastically, and chatting animatedly.
