Prince Harry has been crowned king of cool in a list compiled by GQ magazine.The sandy-haired royal beat the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Horrors singer Faris Badwan, Twilight heart-throb Robert Pattinson and Dappy from N-Dubz to take the title.
(The magazine) took into account an “enviable sense of savoir faire, a talent for transforming the mundane into the extraordinary, or just a really edgy haircut”.
Harry, 25, who is described as “soldier, ambassador, polo player, playboy”, turned his image around after a few youthful gaffes with his stint in Afghanistan, according to GQ. His big brother, Prince William, failed to make the rundown of young movers and shakers. (via PA)

When Harry travelled to Cape Town in April 2004 he had every intention of reconnecting with (Chelsy) after getting her contact details from Simon Diss, the mutual friend who had introduced them.
‘He got straight on the phone to her,’ recalls a friend. ‘Chelsy wasn’t impressed that he was a Prince, she just thought he was cute, so they met up.’
The chemistry was immediate. They went out with friends to a nightclub and by the end of the evening were locked in a passionate embrace on the dance floor.

They also managed to communicate intermittently via email , with Harry using the pseudonym ‘Spike Wells’. One time he wrote: ‘******* cold here. Like insanely cold bit weird!! Anyhoo, gotta go, lots of love to you, probably see you soon unfortunately for you, hehe! Laters ginge!’ In another he simply told the girl he calls ‘Chedda’ he was missing her. ‘I love you. I mis (sic) u gorgeous.’

Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton were among 20,000 music fans who have watched day one of Radio 1′s Big Weekend draw to a close.
The pair were in Bangor, north Wales, to watch artists like Florence & the Machine, Ellie Goulding and Tinie Tempah entertain fans at Vaynol Park.
After meeting Prince William chart-topping London rapper Tinie Tempah said: “He was a nice guy. We were just talking and getting familiar.
“It was a real big deal for me.” He added: “I was a little bit overwhelmed but it was good. We’ve never met before. He just said he was, ‘feeling everything and a big fan of the music’.” (via BBC Radio 1)

Prince Harry is celebrating the end of his military exams with a five week backpacking holiday in South Africa. The Telegraph reports…
7 Comments »He is expected to take in some football at the World Cup and spend some time in Mauritius with his girlfriend Chelsy Davy. Afterwards he will return to Botswana for the start of his first official tour with Prince William in mid-June.
The 25 year-old will be accompanied on the trip by a small entourage of protection officers provided by the Metropolitan Police.
Amongst plans for the trip is a stint on a houseboat with friends on the Okavango Delta. Other highlights include a camping safari in Botswana.

Prince Harry has a new drinking buddy – singer James Blunt.The 25-year-old Royal spent the night out with the You’re Beautiful singer at the Firehouse bar in South Kensington before hitting the nearby Boujis nightclub.
‘He was out with James,’ says a pal. ‘They know each other because James’s sister Daisy is good friends with Harry’s girlfriend Chelsy.
Harry and some friends were drinking at the Firehouse when Harry decided he wanted to stay out late.
‘He called Boujis and said he wanted to come down but that it was important he wasn’t seen, so they arranged for him to use the back door.’ (via Daily Mail)

The Telegraph reports that Prince Harry will be given the opportunity to fly Apache Attack Helicopters for the RAF…
3 Comments »The 25-year-old Prince is said to have impressed his instructors so much during his helicopter pilots’ training course that he has been given the option of flying either Apaches or the Lynx utility helicopter.
Only the most talented trainees are offered the chance to fly Apaches. The Prince is understood to have been given just over a month to make his decision, which will be taken in consultation with his military commanders, along with his father and Prince William, who is training to be a search and rescue helicopter pilot.
Harry will receive his provisional pilot’s “wings” next month and will start his specialist training later this summer. If he opts to fly Apaches, he will transfer to RAF Wattisham in Suffolk.
