Princess Beatrice gives up the Booze

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Princess BeatriceAfter the sobering experience of leaving the keys in the ignition of her BMW, which was then stolen and crashed, Princess Beatrice has decided to give up drinking.

‘Beatrice was never a big drinker but she has decided to stop drinking altogether,’ says a friend.‘But it has nothing to do with what happened. She has just decided to get healthy.

‘She was celebrating Eugenie passing her driving test last Tuesday but, while her sister and mother were having a celebratory glass of bubbly, Beatrice refused to have a sip.’

I’m told the history of art student is still hugely embarrassed about the car theft.

‘It was found but it’s a write-off,’ adds the friend.  (via Daily Mail)

Princess Beatrice’s Film Debut

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Princess beatrice's film debutPrincess Beatrice makes her big-screen debut alongside Emily Blunt in the upcoming flick The Young Victoria.

The carrot-topped royal appears in the first few minutes of the film, hovering in the crowd at the formidable monarch’s coronation.

Early reports suggest Bea may be best sticking with her day job (a student at Goldsmiths in London).

“She seemed rather self-conscious,” says my mole. “Like someone who knows they’re on camera and can’t stop smiling.” (via The Independent)

‘Dazed & Confused’ Princess Beatrice forgets her Bodyguard

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Princess BeatriceBritain’s Princess Beatrice forgot about her bodyguard and driver and tried to hail a taxi home after a night out on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old royal was leaving the exclusive Cuckoo Club in London’s Mayfair district at 1.15am when she made the embarrassing mistake.

A source told Britain’s The Daily Mail newspaper: “Beatrice looked dazed and confused when she left the club. Her security team thought she was with them but she wandered into Regent Street and tried to hail a cab. A security officer had to find her and tell her that she had a car waiting near the club, so she followed him to it.”

Beatrice and her 18-year-old sister Eugenie were at the club to celebrate their cousin Ayesha Makim’s 23rd birthday, and were determined to let their hair down.

An onlooker commented: “There was a dinner followed by dancing. There were buckets of champagne and Belvedere vodka on the tables. Both princesses were getting really into the music and dancing like crazy.” (via Monsters & Critics)

Beatrice’s Beaming now her BMW has been returned

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Princess Beatrice was celebrating last night after her stolen BMW was found.

The black car — pinched by an opportunist thief while Bea, 20, nipped into a shop earlier this month — was found abandoned in Lambeth, South London.

Two windows had been smashed, but Bea was said to be “delighted” to get back her car — a 17th birthday gift from dad Andrew. (via The Sun)

Princess Beatrice’s BMW Stolen in Broad Daylight

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

princessbeatricePrincess Beatrice’s prized BMW was stolen yesterday after she nipped into a shop leaving the keys in the unlocked car’s ignition.

Bea’s police protection officer went into the store with her. But when the pair emerged the £15,000 Beamer had vanished, with passers-by saying it had been driven off at high speed.

Bea, 20, was said to be upset and “extremely embarrassed” over the theft, which took place in broad daylight.

It is understood it contained a number of personal items. But Buckingham Palace sources insisted none was of a sensitive nature.

Her protection officer immediately radioed for back-up following the theft. And a marked patrol car quickly drew up outside the shop.

Gap-year for Princess Eugenie: Beach hut and a hippy night out – Daily Mail
To the casual observer she was like any other backpacker, sunning herself in the Indian hippy resort of Goa. But Princess Eugenie had two accessories not usually found in a budget travel guide – a pair of burly Scotland Yard protection officers. The 18-year-old Royal – sixth in line to the throne – was staying in a £13-a-night beach shack featured in backpackers’ bible the Lonely Planet as part of her gap year…

Pippa Middleton joins the party – The Guardian
Knowing how you adore a new, slightly recherche celebrity, it seems the right time to open your cage door and usher in Pippa Middleton. Last month, Pippa was voted No 1 in Tatler’s list of the “200 coolest kids in town”, which is a bit like heading Jade Goody’s list of the top 200 public intellectuals…

Princess Beatrice’s St. James Reason – Fashion.ie
While the opulent St James’ Palace was always going to be more appealing than student digs, Princess Beatrice says she had a benevolent reason for turning down Goldsmiths College’s halls of residence. “I gave up my place in halls because I live only half an hour from campus.” She continued: “I thought the room would be better use to someone who had further to travel.”…

The Duchess doesn’t do the credit crunch – Daily Mail
I went to meet the Duchess of York at Harrods yesterday for the launch of her new children’s book, Tea for Ruby. I’ve met Sarah a few times and found her delightful when interviewing her in Dubai last month. I don’t know whether she deliberately means to be pure comedy but she always manages to bring a smile to my face…

“Day-dreaming” Princess Beatrice late to class

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Princess Beatrice turned up 20 minutes late yesterday for her first university lecture — after a night out.

Bea, 20, looked red-faced as she sat down next to stunned fellow students for the 10am talk. She did not take notes and seemed to be day-dreaming during the 50-minute lecture on philosophy.

The night before she had a late dinner with American boyfriend Dave Clark, 25, in West London.

A student at the lecture yesterday said: “It must have been embarrassing for Beatrice. All the others were already sat down listening and it was very quiet, so all eyes turned to her. She just kept her head down, went a bit red, walked to the nearest desk and sat down.”

“The male lecturer looked at her but didn’t say anything. Another member of staff had brought her into the lecture hall, so I think she had to be shown the way. Beatrice took out a really posh-looking leather-bound book to jot down notes in but she did not actually write anything at all in it.”

“Every time I looked at her she seemed to be day-dreaming.”

Later the daughter of Princess Andrew and Fergie found there would be no special privileges as she joined the back of a long coffee queue.

But Bea, who was wearing a woolly hat, black shirt and jeans, and leopard-print shoes, seemed to have settled into university life as she chatted and laughed with three students on her break. (via The Sun)

Princesses Eugenie & Beatrice hit Boujis nightclub

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

When most girls prepare for a night of clubbing, they make sure they have a handbag, lipstick and some money… or at least a generous male companion willing to buy the drinks.

But for Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, they took the unusual step of making sure they had a team of minders with them as they enjoyed a night out in London last night.

Despite frequently partying without security, somebody had obviously decided the two women needed some chaperones for Wednesday’s boozy night at members club Boujis.

Dressed in a smart black dress and matching jacket, a bleary-eyed Beatrice clung to her suited beau Dave as they left the club at 1.15am.

Beatrice’s early exit may have been down to a university commitment the next day, as her little sister Eugenie kept on partying until 3.50am.

Her outfits are becoming increasingly daring – and her latest was no exception. Princess Eugenie showed a generous decolletage as she partied at Mayfair nightclub Whisky Mist. She threatened to spill out of her floral dress as she fell into a waiting cab in the early hours after a raucous evening accompanied by a male companion…
