The Queen wins School Raffle - The Sun
A raffle prize of two bars of soap and bath oil has been won by The Queen. Organisers couldn’t believe it when a winning ticket was pulled out with “The Queen, Buckingham Palace” written on it. A prankster was suspected and the stub was about to be thrown away, with a redraw for the £10 prize. But a fellow punter in the summer raffle at Fox Primary School in Notting Hill, West London, revealed that the ticket WAS genuine…
Flying the flag, it’s Zara the Trolley Dolly - Daily Mail
When British entrants Scooch belted it out at the Eurovision Song Contest, the reception was somewhat less than ecstatic: the upbeat number Flying The Flag nose-dived into second-to-last place, amassing a paltry 19 points. Sarah Ferguson also opted for a more forgiving fabric than the tight satin chosen by her daughter…
Those tucking into organic beef from the prince’s herd at the couple’s country home were principally their Gloucestershire neighbours and friends from Wiltshire, where Camilla keeps her own house, Raymill, as a bolthole to kick off her shoes and escape from courtiers and Highgrove staff.
The couple, who were supposedly secretly engaged at Christmas, a claim later dismissed by Zara, were thought to have soon made their wedding plans public. However, this no longer appears to be the case with Zara, a world class equestrian competitor, scrapping plans for an announcement so she can concentrate on training for the British team ahead of the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
